I've purchased several packages of these clips for myself and my mother. I am a papercrafter and my mother is a beader and we've both found uses for these clips.
The clips come in a heavy duty plastic bag with cardboard hanger. Save that bag! The plastic is tough enough to be used with a clip and hung on your Clip It Up to gather loose objects.
Each clip consists of three pieces - the two pieces of the clip connected with a spring and a hook. I have yet to have a clip malfunction. The tension on the clip is quite strong and fragile embellishments should not be directly clipped as there is a good chance the teeth on the clip will leave marks or actually puncture these items. I used to empty my embellishments into my old storage containers - now that I am using these clips I will be more likely to keep original packaging where possible. (Look carefully at your packaging - it seems like many scrapbooking packages in rectangular cellophane bags can be opened from the bottom by lifting the flap away from the back of the package.) You can separate or cut away the cardboard topper and just clip the original plastic package most of the time. If you don't have that opportunity and can't wait until your order of extra envelopes arrive from The Superstore you can use ziplock style baggies - the top part of a ziplock bag is tough enough to hold up to the jaws of the clip.
I needed about 100 clips to get almost everything hung. If you are purchasing the Clip It Up base you will get 80 clips - I would recommend purchasing at least another package of clips if you have a small to medium stash. If your stash is larger you will need to buy more packages.
The only negative aspect of this product is a tendency for the clips to get fairly tangled up in the original packaging. This is really just an irritant when you are excited to get everything put in its new place - you just need a little patience to untangle clots of clips here and there and should not sway anyone against purchasing these clips. For those of you who may want to use the project with a beading supply collection you will need to plan to clip your supplies on something other than the beads - I am pretty certain that the jaws could cause scratching if the clips were used to hang strands of beads.

These clips are specially made to work with the Clip It Up unit. They are strong and just the right size to fit on the unit without taking up too much room. The curved hook that goes on the metal ring looks flimsy in the photo, but it's actually very strong.
I got clips with my base and clips with my upper tier. It still wasn't enough. The only down side was that I got a few dud clips. One package all the clips worked fine. But I got another package that had 7 bad clips. Five wouldn't open. One had a busted spring. And one had a missing hook. I guess there was a quality control problem that day.
It's a good thing I ordered extra clips for my clip it up! As I was gathering all the packages of my embellies I realized that the supply of clips that came with the Clip it up wouldn't be nearly enough for all the items I had!... These extra clips sure came in handy! And now that I have all my products right at hand, I am using them all....now to buy more embellies to fill the empty clips!!
This is a must have add on if you are buying the simply renee clip it up. The unit did not come with enough clips to hang all of my stuff so I'm glad I bought 2 extra packs. They are sturdy and hold very well. If you have a medium stash you will need at least one extra bag of clips. I recommend buying two extra bags, especially if you are buying both the base and the additional top tier.
Simply Renee was suggested to me by my hair stylist. I was a little hesitant, but very glad that I bought the Clip it Up system. My bling & stickers & everything else I buy in a package now has a home. I can spin it around and everything I have is in view. It takes only seconds to find exactly what I need. I had so much stuff I needed more clips. Thanks Renee for a great product!
So glad I got extra clips when I ordered the clip-it up unit. There is plenty of room to add more to the unit and these clips are really strong & sturdy. (When you put them on the unit pinch the hook closed a little and they will never fall off.) They hold a reasonable weight e.g chipboard & metal embellishments easily.
I love the clip it up,it allows you to access lots of stuff with ease,easy to flick through.I loved it that much I ended up purchasing one for my 15 year old daugther,whom also things it's great.Only draw back is the cost of posting to Australia.

I love the clip it up organizer by Simply Renee. I finally have everything organized in such a way that it is easy to find what I'm looking for. I find that I use more embellishments when they are within sight and I can easily see what I have without digging through folders and containers.
I'GOT MY CLIP IT UP FOR A GIFT LAST WEEK.AND I' JUST LOVE IT.THE CLIPS ARE WONDERFUL ALSO ,THEY HOLD A LOT OF STICKERS AT ONE TIME,OR OTHER STUFF.I' HAD TO UNTANGLE THEM.BUT ONCE I' GOT THEM ON THE SPINNER THER WORK GREAT.AND THEY ARE EASY TO REMOVE ALSO.LOVE THEM....
i love these i can use them with my simply renee unit or i can use them by themselves which is great because it gives you a handle to grasp what you are trying to pick up, buy some you will find a thousand things youcan do with the clips!!!!!!!!! happy scrappin
