I love this product! I actually punched a hole through a CD! (02-Oct-07)

With my arthritis, I never thought I could use a tool like this one! I am amazed at what the crop-o-dile can cut through! Oneach side of the handles they have a 1/8" hole cutter and a 3/8" hole cutter. They have even made it so you can adjust the depth of your hole punch for making all sides even. (I figured that out on a video on YouTube!) Then, setting the eyelets is quite easy, however, I really like the large eyelets versus the smaller simply because it is more comfortable with my fingers! I have used the crop-o-dile more recently to make holes in defective CD's so that I can make mini-scrapbooks out of them! Cutting through them was a snap. Some things are better done within the domain of a paper sack, so that the pieces don't fly out at you or your eyes, so just be careful! I also used it to add an extra two or three holes for my leather purse. Couldn't have been happier to cinch that bag up! I make the little Post It! note holders and use it to punch the small eyelets in them to put ribbon through. Beautiful, soft and gentle on my hands with very little exertion on my part. What a wonderful product. I forgot to mention that it is also very quiet!

    coolest little guy (27-Dec-07)

i LOVE LOVE LOVE my crop-a-dile... it was the best gift i got all year!!!!!!! i have used it several times now and am looking for projects i can do just so i can use my new best friend. it is easy to use and best of all quiet. no more banging of that little hammer! it is very comfortable and punches through anything like butter!

everyone needs one of these. they are not expensive and worth 10 times what you will pay! i would suggest also getting the little box it resides in because it comes with tons of brads in 8 colors. it is a great start to a new technique.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE TOY OF THE YEAR!!!!!!!!

    the most awesome tool (13-Jul-07)

I had so many eyelets and just hated them. I could never get them to set right, so I never used them. They just set around. Then I seen the crop a dile and thought, hhmmmm, maybe it will work, but I didn't buy it. Then I need a new paper punch and thought, hmmm, that will do both things and different sizes. So I finally ordered it from scrapbook.com and was so excited when the ups man drove up. I was like a little kid at Christmas time. It is the most awesome tool. I am now able to eyelets and snaps easily. I am so glad I finally bought it. Thanks for the awesome tool.

    one of the converted... (04-Oct-07)

i actually own three different sizes of those fiskars springy eyelet setters that sound like you are punching into concrete. my sister-in-law just got a cropadile and i'm wildly jealous now that i've gotten a chance to try it out! it's so smooth and so easy to use- the tool does all the work for you. there's no need for muscle, you don't have to squeeze terribly hard. it's perfect for anyone who has a touch of arthritis. the only drawback is that it only works on the outer edges. you can't on the inside middles of pages.

    A Work Horse of a Tool (06-May-08)

There's been a lot of buzz about this tool and rightly so. It can do things that the post eyelet setter and hand grip-style setters can't do but I don't think it's the only tool to use for eyelet setting. I've had a difficult time setting decorative eyelets with it. If you want to understand what each of the eyelet setters do and how they work there's an article in the Resources Center that will help you. Here's the link: http://www.scrapbook.com/articles/tech/67.html

    Wonderful (17-Sep-07)

This tool is such a must have. I had never used eylets on my pages because I had heard how hard they were to set, with my cropadile it's a breeze. I also love the fact that it punchs holes through anything . I had a black leather belt that was to large, but after punching a new hole with this amazing tool I can now wear it. I agree that it's easy to use and once you learn they setting you can do so much with this tool. It's a must have and I reccommened it to any scrapper or hobbiest.

    Very Functional (22-Mar-08)

I agonized whether I needed to buy another tool but I'm glad I ended up buying this little jewel. It's the only tool I know of that puts holes through chipboard (the main reason I bought it) but its also very good for setting eyelets (itsn't loud as opposed to my Fiskars Eyelet Setters that make a loud whacking sound). The only drawback: you can't set eyelets in the middle of a page (so I guess I better keep those noisy things also).

    No more banging here! (12-Sep-07)

I thought a long time before getting my cropadile and the only reason I hesitated was because I was concerned that it didn't reach far enough on the paper. Well, with careful planning this has not been the issue EVER for me and I use it a lot! I'll keep my old school hammer and eyelet setter for the rare time I might want a hole and eyelet in the middle of a big piece of paper. I love this tool! My 6 year old can even use it!

We R Memory Keepers - Crop-A-Dile - Eyelet and Snap Punch Tool (02-Apr-13)

I had the old crop a dile tool, and I guess what, sometimes I could not figure it out, I had the hole punching part down, but always got confused, this tool is color coded, and numbered so you never have to guess what little square part goes with which little flattening part. Who knew it could be so easy, now I'm loving the tool and working more with it. The other type always intimidated me, but this one is more user friendly.

    At last (13-Oct-07)

I had always wanted to try putting eyelets on my pages but didn't have the tools. Then, my sister-in-law bought this for me after hearing my comment that I wanted one. Well, I am absolutely thrilled with it and have shown everyone I know how to use it. The other night, I got it out and just set eyelets and snaps on different embellishments just for practice and fun. I would definately recommend this tool.

    A must have (14-Jul-07)

I just bought this, and I dont know how I lived without it for so long. It is so easy to set eyelets now. Its a bit intimidating in the beginning, and make sure you try it on scraps first and make sure its set correctly. But once you get going you'll never put it down.

My only problem with it is you cant punch the middle of the page. So keep another eyelet setter on the side.

I tend not to use it on small ones. But this product is a must have for eyelet users!

We R Memory Keepers - Crop- A- Dile - Eyelet and Snap Punch Tool (25-Jan-08)

    I Love...

The fact that it's available in pink, love the 2 side hole punch options (use em all the time) for LO's, tags and to place brads. What first drew me to this tool was the fact that it is a hand-punch tool, a silent tool, and has the ability to do more than just 1 function!...Call it the Girlfriends Best Friend Gadget! :)

    Don't Really Love...

The lack of extended reach (see new Crop-A-Dile II) I also 'don't really love' the bulkiness of this product. I can completely understand why some would have a hard just holding this product. However, with that said, with just a little practice and after only 5 projects or so, you quickly do get use to it, it sorta becomes second nature & you really don't really think about it!...Also, just to be spoiled, I wish that the case would have been included for this product. However, the kit which includes the case, costs more than if bought along.

    awesome tool! (10-Oct-07)

I love my cropadile. It punches through everything. Its amazing how many things that you can use this for for hole punching that isn't scrapbook related. I have punched holes in many things so that I can hang them up. The punches are very strong. I gave it a 4, however because of the limited reach. I wish they would make a long reach cropadile so that you can punch in the middle of a piece of paper. It can set eyelets and brads, which is great. There are two black squares with all the setters and you just spin them around to the setting you would like. Don't press too hard either, or it will just smash whatever you are setting. I use this tool a lot, and would be lost without it.

So much easier than the traditional way! (08-Jan-08)

You will love how easy the crop-a-dile is to use! I love the look and so many ways that you can use eyelets, but could never really get the hang of how to set them with the regular hammer and mat. I got frustrated and essentially gave up. Then my little sis bought one of these and at first I was skeptical since it seemed like a lot of money for something that I might not use that often. But after using it a couple of times I went out and bought myself one too~and I really like it! It is quiet, quick, and does the job. Once in a while I will over-squish my eyelet, but I think that I just need to get used to using it.

so thought i was never going to get this tool (08-Jan-08)

oky so i wasnt origianally going to ever get this tool, i have a eyelet setter (the clickit) and love that i can use it anywhere on the page yadda yadda yadda. but my scrap space changed recently where i CANNOT pound on the table surface, so i got the cropadile. and love it love the ease and the fact that it setts the eyelets perfect just about everytime, versa the more traditional way where i would have a more than a few mishabs. only thing i dont like is the limited hole punch and setting thing at a inch.

    Keeps on Croppin (19-Feb-08)

I recently purchased this little beauty after much decision making. It's a great tool for punching holes and flattening brads and such. I'm always looking for ways to use brads just so I can put it to further use and get my money's worth.

Only thing I don't like about it is that it's pretty heavy and hurts my wrist at times. I also don't like that it doesn't reach as far away from the edges as I would like but I can deal with that.

But I would recommend this little doll versus a hammer.

    almost perfect (23-Aug-07)

I am loving this tool! It will puch through almost anythign!!!! I love that it makes no noise and I can finally go back to using eyelets and snaps on my pages without waking up my kids!I love that it will go through all the chipboard I have tried it on. Here is my only complaint. You can only go so far onto your page with it. So you can not put an eyelet directly into the middle of the page. You have to plan ahead and figure out other ways to get it place there. It is still worth the money!!!

If Only I Could Go Faster (31-Mar-08)

I love this tool & would not want to be setting eyelets or snaps without it. What I do find is that in cutting the holes to set the eyelet the punched material gets stuck in the hole causing me to have to stop to get the little dot un-stuck so I can see where I"m putting the next hole. I think it's inherent in the design so that the tool can go through some pretty tough material but I find I'd be better off with just a regular hole punch if I need to make multiple holes.

So easy I can use it! (15-Dec-07)

Quiet, handy, strong... just what you want in an eyelet setter. That's what I wanted it for in the first place. I was driving everyone nuts at crops with my other ones. Then I discovered the hole punch. I needed to put holes in wooden ornaments that I was attaching to my Christmas cards. It worked like a knife going through soft butter. Awesome. I'm going to find some tin ornaments now and see if it will do the same thing. Worth every penny!

    A MUST HAVE (25-Aug-07)

I absolutely love this tool. I never got into eyelets until this tool. I knew that setting eyelets was loud so I never tried them and one day I heard about this and took my 50% coupon and bought it. I am so glad I now entered the world of eyelet, "quietly". My only quarm is the reach is small. When I want an eyelet in the middle of my 12x12 LO I have to attach the eyelet to something that I can adhere to that section, which I seem to do anyway.

    Easier than it looks (18-Feb-08)

This tool is amazing. Aside from it's complex appearance and heftiness, it work with very little effort.
The only thing that stops me from giving it a 5 star review is that it's limited to where you can punch. Similar to a single hole punch, you have limitations to the outer edge of paper. Other than that I'm very please with my purchase and can't wait for the matching carry case to come in the mail. :)

    Better than the alternative? (28-Jun-08)

So far I have only used my Crop-A-Dile to set some eyelets on paper. Punching the hole for the eyelet was very easy, but actually setting the eyelet still took quite a lot of force. Having said that though, I've never set an eyelet the "regular" way, so I'm assuming this is still the easier way?

OK, I've used it again... and for some reason it was easier this time! yay!

You could punch a whole through the world with this thing! (12-Sep-07)

Whoa! What a great punch this thing has! And nice silent and easy eyelet setting with both sizes. The only drawback is that limited reach you have... only 1"... but if you think ahead enough this can usually be worked around within reason. Overall a great product for what used to be very noisy task.

    Love it (19-Feb-09)

I got this because of the portability and love all that it does. I wish I would have gotten the Big bite for two reasons though, the 6" reach and the ability to do grommets/gromlets. But I do love my crop a dile and can't wait to use it even more!

    Great tool w/ 1 drawback (26-Aug-11)

This tool is perfect for setting eyelets. The ease of use is great for anyone that has arthritis. The only draw back is that the only instructions that you get are printed on the back panel, so don't throw that panel away.

    Pros and Cons (10-Oct-07)

Pros: The Crop-a-dile does stand up to the hype of being able to go through anything. The best part of mine is the fact that it punches holes so cleanly and precisely compared to my other setting tools. Another plus is that you have to use surprisingly little pressure to hole-punch or set eyelets and of course, no noise. Plus I have to admit, when I am able to use it I still get excited. It is a neat tool just to be able to use and its so much quicker and easier than other tools.

Cons: The hole-punch and eyelet setter are only 1 inch deep. If you don’t measure something properly, or are just eyeballing where you would like your eyelet to go, often I find myself millimetres away from being able to use the crop-a-dile and then I am forced to bring out my eyelet setter and hole-puncher instead. One thing I also dislike is sometimes I have to use both hands to use it and since all your work is done in the air and not on a mat, your objects can start moving everywhere causing you to have to stop and place everything again. Plus, maybe it’s just me, but when I tried to set my fancy star eyelets, the crop-a-dile smashed them. I tried two different settings just in case I had the wrong one for the top and it still happened.

Overall I would recommend this tool, but make sure that you buy another eyelet setter first so that you can set eyelets everywhere.

Good product, could be better (25-Aug-08)

I wanted this so bad until I got one. I have used it a handful of times. I like to add holes and eyelets along more than just the edge of a page. The reach is very small. Other than that, I like it.

It has its good points... (04-Jan-09)

I enjoy using the -adile (as my two year old calls it) because of the convenince...but the draw back is that it only goes 1" into the paper.

THIS ONE IS WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY! (13-Jul-07)

I have had this tool for over a year and compared to any other tool I own it is the most useful. It also inspires me to try different things. I can honestly say that no matter what the project is, I reach for my Crop-A-Dile. It is so easy to selected different settings for all different sizes of eyelets and snaps. NO HAMMER and NO SELF-HEALING PAD needed. It may take a little time to get use to, balancing the snap or eyelet can be a little tricky at first, but once you've got it, you'll be on a roll. The grip is a little wide, but it doesn’t take too much hand strength to close. The absolute best part about this tool, isn't the fact that you'll start using you eyelets and snaps again, it is the hole punches! They will go through just about anything. I use them to weave ribbon and string or just bring out the layers of my work and add accents. I am always coming up with new ideas on how to use this tool. MUST BUY for anyone who uses or would like to use snaps and eyelets!

A must have for your toolbox! (13-Jul-07)

This was another item that I was a little intimidated to use at first. A friend of mine had one and showed me how easy it was to set eyelets. I was shocked! No more pounding-just squeeze and it is done!

I would recommend keeping the cardboard backing from the package when you get it because it gives the sizes of the eyelets and snaps and their corresponding settings on the notches.

It has 2 sizes of hole punches on each side of the tool. You can hole punch paper, cardstock, chipboard, and even metal! After you punch the hole, you place the eyelet in the hole, line the top of the eyelet with the notch marked "top", and then give it a gentle squeeze. Easy!

The only drawback to the Crop-A-Dile is if you want to set eyelets in the middle of a page, you cannot do that because it only has a 2" reach. But, I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to use eyelets and snaps in their layouts!

    Versatile and easy tool (16-May-08)

I had my eye on the CAD for a while but resisted because of it's short reach. When the Big Bite came out, I snatched one up right away and loved it right out of the box. Perfect for scrapbook LOs when you need the long reach. I also do some card making which I usually end up doing on my couch instead of at a table and while the big bite is great, it is big. But after discovering what a great tool it is, I decided to get the original CAD too since I knew I would get my $$s worth. Not at all sorry I did. I somehow manage to use both quite frequently.

Takes a few minutes to figure out which setting to use for what kind of embellishment but once you do, setting anything is a breeze and the hole punch makes it easy to punch through think things like chipboard or a big stack of regular paper. Only complaint is that it doesn't have any kind of hole catcher.

  • Terrific tool! (01-Dec-10)

I just picked up one of these tools because I was trying to figure out how to punch holes in junk CD's to make a mini album and I didn't want to have to ask to borrow my DH's power drill. After a bit of research, I came across this tool and decided to give it a go. I was completely amazed at how easy it was to punch holes in CD's with this tool!

I know many people do not like that the reach is limited with this tool but for me thats not a drawback. It was obviously made for limited reach holes/eyelet setting, like for making holes in mini album bindings. I have a Making Memories eyelet setter that works just fine for setting eyelets anywhere I want them, so the limited reach is a non issue for me. I am just thrilled to have a tool that will punch holes in a variety of materials!

  • One of my core tools! (11-Jul-07)

I absolutely love the crop o dile! I use it on almost all of my layouts for eyelets, snaps and to punch holes. I never liked fooling with eyelets when I had the “silent” setter. This product truly is silent and easy to use once you read the directions and remember what each setting is for. I love that I don’t have to squeeze it very hard to set my item. It also punches through thick items or through multiple pieces of paper very well. I rarely used eyelets and snaps before I got this tool because the other setters I’ve used were too hard to use or just too noisy but now I use them for almost all of my projects!

    I L-O-V-E the crop-a-dile (29-Oct-07)

I had never heard of the crop a dile until when night I was applying my eyelets the old way-way hammer and setter. I was growing really frustrated. I have a baby and I don't live in a big home. I do all my scrapbooking at night, and I couldn't use my hammer and setter and night with a sleeping baby. I would always take my supplies out side to do it. My neighbors probably thought I was Coo-Coo. Anyway, I told my friend my dilemna and she proudly told me about the crop-a-dile. I ran out and got it the next day, and I have been a major fan ever since. It is so quick and quiet. I love it.

Won't leave home without it! (20-Apr-08)

A friend had this item and I tried it once and loved it! I wasn't a fan of the eyelet setters and mini hammer, but it was all I had. This tool is alot easier and quietter than the old method. It has several different size eyelet setters for you to choose from and two different size hole punchers. I just grab it and toss it in my bag for a crop. My only comment is that I wish the smaller hole punch was alittle smaller. I find myself still carrying my smaller hole puncher in addition to this, but otherwise its a great purchase for the money!

    Crop-A-dile is the Best! (11-Jul-07)

I'm not one to spend money on all the latest and greatest gadgets but this is one tool that I can definitely recommend! I recently purchased it so I could start using up some of the many eyelets that I have collected. But before I could try it out on eyelets, I used it to punch some holes in some acrylic sheets for an album I was working on. It punched through the acrylic like buttah!! This is one tool that I can say is worth the investment and it's always out on my work table .

    i LOVE this tool! (01-May-08)

i have to say that out of all of the eyelet setter tools i've ever used, i find this one to be the quickest and easiest tool. and not to mention, it punches holes through almost anything. i've punched it through chipboards, metal tags, and even acrylic. now that i have it, i don't think i cud sb without it. the only downfall is that it doesnt reach far into a 12x12 lo. i plan on getting the bigger one later on. but yea, definitely a tool you must try!

  • Love the crop a dile (10-Sep-08)

I love this tool. I like using eyelets on everything, but found it hard to do the pounding way. Plus I usually do my crafts when the kids go to bed so I couldn't go pounding and waking them up. I like this because it is silent and easy to use. Its easy to squeeze and everything. Now I can punch through anything with ease this is a great product and worth the price. Its also small and fits easily into my tote to take back and forth to different crops.

    Best tool out there! (30-Jan-08)

I have used this tool for all sorts of projects and have yet to be let down! I especially love the fact that I can punt through thicker material with ease! I make things out of those used plastic gift cards and this is the only punch/tool out there that will go through these things without destroying the plastic! I even used a drill before this thing! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my crop a dile and cannot wait to get the big bite!

    Must have!!! (30-Jan-08)

I love the look of eyelets on a page! But, I hated trying to set them myself. Until, I came upon the Crop-A-Dile!!! This is a wonderful tool and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone! It is a silent tool which is a must for me as I scrap a lot at night after everyone else is already asleep! This has been the easiest way I've found to set eyelets perfectly every time.

  • Fantastic (23-May-09)

This tool is so versatile. Not only can you use it for all of your crafting projects, it comes in handy around the house. When my hubby lost some weight and thought he needed to purchase a new belt...Crop-A-Dile to the rescue...we used it to punch a new hole in his belt and it was perfect for the job. I just wish someone would have thought of this sooner.

  • Cropadile is a keeper (01-Feb-08)

This is the best money I have ever spent. This tool punches the holes for the eyelets, large and small and then has a rotating head for applying the different sized eyelets. It is so quiet and so easy to use. I have used it on metal, leather, cloth and paper. This is a definite must have! I don't know what I would do without it now.

  • Love it - Worth the money. (03-May-08)

Okay. So I am a little late jumping on this band wagon. Especially now that the Big Bite is out. But I picked up the Crop-O-Dile about two weeks ago. And have been happily using my eyelets that had not been touched for a few months. Before this I used the old hammer method. I still have the hammer just incase I want to set an eyelet/snap further into the page than this will go.

It’s extremely easy to use and quite! No loud banging – gotta love that. It can cut thru so many different materials – paper, cardstock, metal. Love that! The handle is patted so it won’t hurt your hand when squeezing it. Each side of the handles can punch a different size hole. One side is the 1/8” hole punch and the other side is the 3/8” hole punch. You can adjust the depth of the hole punch so that you can make sure the holes are set even. Setting the eyelets is just as easy. Just turn the black notches to the correct setting.

I would recommend keeping the cardboard backing from the package. I have referred to this a number of times. It gives you the sizes of the eyelets/snaps and the corresponding setting on the notches.

Granted the only drawl back is its reach – but now they have the big bite to fix that problem.

I am so glad I finally got on the wagon and purchased this tool. Now to see if I will jump on the band wagon of the Big Bit. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I am so glad I finally got on the wagon and purchased this tool. Now to see if I will jump on the band wagon of the Big Bit. I would recommend this product to anyone.

  • Crop a dile (25-Sep-07)

This is very easy to use. At first I had a little trouble figuring out how to set eyelets with it but now that I know what I'm doing it's fast and easy. The crop a dile makes no noise and requires hardly any pressure to make a hole and you don't need a cutting mat with it! It's also great for making holes for brads. You can set eyelets and make holes of different sizes very easily. The only thing I don't like about this product is that you can only make a hole a couple of inches into the page and not, say, in the middle of the page. That's why I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5 but otherwise I'm very happy with my crop a dile.

  • Crop-A-Dile: A scrapers best Friend! (13-Aug-07)

The Crop-A-Dile is one of the best tools i have ever used i not only use it for eylets but for making my own designs with the hole punches that are located on the two sides. There is a large and a small hole punch that can be used within one inch of the border of the page. It has a base on the sides of the hole punches that is adjustable so that each hole is easily placed the same width away from the border. The Crop-A-Dile is so easy to use! No mat or different heads for each individual eyelet, just rotate the heads to change the size of the eyelets! This product is sure to be enjoyed for many memorys to come!

    Crop-A-Dile (04-Sep-07)

I really like this tool for punching holes. It goes through so many neat things, cd's, tin pails, chipboard. I am always using it for that type of stuff. I'll admit to it having a bit of a learning curve as far as eyelets are concerned. I don't think I've mastered that yet (and I've had it for over a month). Sometimes the eyelets are set perfectly and other times part of the eyelet gets bent and part doesn't. I've watched videos, looked to make sure I don't have it upside-down and I make sure I don't press too hard. I still am having some issues.

  • VERY Easy to Use! (15-Dec-07)

I love my Crop-A-Dile. I have used both sizes of hole punches in a variety of materials and it is a breeze. Setting eyelets is easy as well (as long as you make sure you are using the correct settings!). In the beginning I was using the wrong size to set my eyelets and ended up crushing a few. Now that I have the hang of it I never even need to look at the instructions! I gave it only 4 stars because I have been frustrated occasionally by not being able to reach further onto a piece of paper, but overall I love it and would definately buy it again.

    No more banging (06-Sep-07)

With the crop-a-dile, I can get rid of my hammer! No more banging, I don't have to worry about waking up my husband or ruining a table top either. I use eyelets on almost all my projects now because this multi-functional tool is so easy to use. The only disadvantage to this tool is that you can't go anywhere on a page with it, I try to place the eyelet piece on a smaller piece and adhere that to the page wherever I want to eliminate the problem though. All in all I highly recommend this tool because it is easy to use and versatile.

    Great tool!!! (10-Sep-07)

As a scrapper who is still learning about new tools and ideas on a daily basis, I can honestly say this was the best 2006 buy I made. I had tons of eyelets prior to getthing this and refused to use any of them because they were so time consuming..but now with this...its as easy as 1,2,3....
I have to say, I just love this tool. I have to admit the only thing that I see wrong with this tool is that I can not get into hard to reach places, other than that.......I does the job that it promised it would do!!!

  • Best tool ever! (20-Feb-08)

I love this thing! I took it to a crop and everyone kept asking to borrow it. It was a big hit!

The only thing I didn't like is the reach of it. I have the silent setter to get holes punched in the middle of the paper. And when I tried to set an eyelet for the first time, my eyelet got stuck on the tool. I had to use my scissors to pry it off. Ever since then I haven't had a problem with it. I do recommend it.

  • It is about time! (02-Sep-07)

It is about time that a product actually delivered on its claim, the Crop a dile, does just that....it makes setting eyelets as easy as pie, and quiet as a mouse....I hated trying to set something when my family was asleep, and many nights of cropping got changed by this handy dandy item. it really can cut almost anything. and it is so quiet and easy to use that I first thought it was broken; LOL. AMAZING

    Crop-A-Dile? (18-Aug-08)

Benefit- It is stronger then you average hammer eyelet tool and it doesn't make noise.

    Problems-
I still can not figure out what the things on the side are for. I know it is to adjust a setting but for what? And I have read the insert and it still does not make sense. But that has not prevented me from using it.

It takes some practice and if you use too much pressure you smoosh your eyelet or snap.

    Crop-a-dile makes me smile! (11-Jul-07)

I love this amazingly strong, versatile tool. I'm amazed by what it can do - I've punched through plastic, layers of paper, metal, and even layers of fabric. When you get this tool, I'll bet you'll spend the first 15 minutes or so walking around and testing it out on different household objects. My only vice is I wish it were bigger so I could punch even more objects (in hard to reach places)!

    I love this tool! (18-Aug-08)

I love using this tool it is so simple. I love how versatile it is and how easy it works. I have used this for so many things and so many different fabrics. such as plastic, reindeer leather. cardstock, chipboard and many more.
Recently I even made a new ribbon box out of ferrero rocher chocolates box. It is brilliant.

it is light. compact and easy to use. what more could a girl ask for.

  • Great tool! (12-Mar-09)

I really like this tool. It punches through thick chipboard, thin metal, and several sheets of paper at one time. It sets eyelets quickly and quietly. What I don't like about the tool is that you can't punch very far in, maybe a half inch. Overall, it's a great tool.

  • GREAT PRODUCT (18-Oct-07)

I used one for the first time in a class that I took at my LSS. I had to have one. I loved the fact that it will punch holes in anything. We altered a CD and it didn't even crack. And for once, my eyelets turned out perfectly.

  • Almost love it!! (04-Feb-10)

What I love about this product is the ease of using it! The only thing I am not crazy about is you can't line up what your doing very easy! But I will keep working on it! It even goes thru ribbon for the eyelet!!

  • Great to set eyelets with (21-Jul-08)

I love the crop a dile when it comes to setting eyelets & punching holes. It's a little heavy & the grip is a little too big for my hand but I still love it.

  • Handy tool (13-Apr-09)

Love it. Only down side is that you can only make a punch 3/4 inch into your paper. Cuts through anything though, thick cardboard too.

  • Great Tool (15-Feb-11)

This is a go to tool. Great hole puncher and eyelette setter. The downside is that you are limited to where you can work on the page.

  • Great for Punching Holes - Clumsy for Setting Eyelets (11-Jul-07)

I first spotted the pink Crop-a-dile sticking out of the tote bag of the woman sitting next to me at a CKC class. The little pink monster was so cute I just had to hold it (the Crop-a-dile, not the woman). My fellow cropper saw me checking it out and she offered to demo it for me. She was smiling like a proud mommy as she set some eyelets and punched some holes through small piles of cardstock. I was using the Making Memories eyelet setter and punch, but that was so last week – I HAD to have the Crop-a-Dile. When the package arrived, I dropped everything and carried it directly my crop area, tore open the box and fumbled it in my clumsy hands. I tried to use it before reading the directions and could not get eyelets to set correctly. Step away from the tool. After reviewing the guidelines for setting the tool correctly I had better luck. The eyelets didn't split nice and evenly in the back of the page. I was disappointed. Then I tried setting a large football brad and it bent it all over the place. Grrrr. I then started punching holes in anything I could find to see if it really could live up to the hype. It did punch smoothly through small piles of cardstock, CD's, plastic, a soup can, leather and a piece of rubber that was hanging off the treadmill. I do use the Crop-a-dile to punch holes, but I strongly prefer the Making Memories tool for setting eyelets. If the Crop-a-dile isn't set up exactly right, it smashes, not sets, the eyelet and tears your page. I even knicked off a piece of the rubber cube, with an eyelet mind you, while trying to set it into a page. I know there are many fans of this tool out there, but for setting eyelets, I'm not one of them.

    crop-a-dile (22-Jun-09)

this is definitely a neat little tool to have in your stash. however, i would recommend getting the big bite instead of this one. this one can only be used along the borders of your pages, while the big bite can be used throughout the whole layout.
