    Obsession Finds a Home (30-Jan-11)

I have been obsessed with blank books since I was a little girl. I've collected them for years, and always look for ones with interesting covers, pages with special designs, and spiral bound pages is a MUST! I've always had a problem though - I leave the books I buy "blank" because they become imperfect after I write in them. So I have a whole drawer full of beautiful - but forever blank - books.
After finding this tool, I had to give a sigh of relief - FINALLY! I can build my own books to my own specifications, and not be afraid to write in the pages! The tool works cleanly and smoothly and I've had so much fun creating books for any reason!
I had a few "beginners" problems:
    1) the first few sheets I punched got a weird yellow oil around the holes - I'm assuming this was an oil from the inner mechanisms. It went away after the first few punches, but I mention it so that anyone with a new machine makes sure to punch a few test sheets first.
    2) On my first book, I forgot that the cover's holes would need to be lined up a bit differently so that the inside pages are "centered" when the covers are a bit taller than the internal pages.

After these mistakes, I've been whipping right through creating new books for all my needs - books full of graph paper for drawing out scrapbooking and card floor plans, books with list pages I print out on the computer to make custom grocery lists, etc. I highly recommend this tool for those like me that love to have the perfect book for any purpose.

This tool is really aptly named - it makes spiral bound book making a "cinch"!

    Finally here... (08-Apr-10)

Several years ago I reluctantly sold the Ibeco Binding Machine I used for making albums, report covers and flip charts for my family and school. I knew I'd miss it but we were downsizing our home office and it was too big for the space we'd allotted for equipment. I was sure that I find another machine -- someday.

I've been searching for a substantial, user-friendly, consumer-size binding machine since then and was optimistic when Tricia, the buyer at Scrapbook.com told me WeR had come up with a new binding system. WeR's reputation for sturdy, long-lasting tools added to my optimistic hope.

Well, the Cinch is here, I've used it and I am sold on this amazing product. I reminds me of my old Ibeco but it's better. Here's how:

    1) Instructions are printed on the machine so you have help at your fingertips

    2) Measuring is simple and effortless (shown in inches and centimeters)

    3) Lightweight construction but the unit is sturdy and stable when punching and binding

    4) Affordable - it will last for years and I can save $$$ by making my own albums, journals or diaries

    5) Wire binders are a "cinch" to install (O-rings from other companies line up with the round (not square) holes too.

    6) The mechanism is quite, I can use it at night and not wake up family members.

    7) It folds up to fit (on it's side) on my 12.5" high by 10" deep shelf and takes up 5" of space (width).

    8) It's pink...I'm not a pink-kind-of girl by nature but I enjoy the look of this tool.

Thanks WeR. I'm back in business after all these years!

Great for making your own journals !! (28-Mar-13)

Received the cinch about 2 weeks ago and really enjoy this product. Yes, it is simple to use to make journals and other book type crafts, but at first you need to get rid of the oil that is on the inside of the machine. You just keep puching scrap paper for awhile (all 12 pegs) until you don't see anymore oil. It sounds like a long drawn out procedure, but it's not. After that, you're good to go. Always practice with leftover paper before you punch the real thing. Once you get the hang of lining up the holes it's easy. I'm making a 6x6 , 8x8 journal right now and it's really fun. It's like making a smash journal, you can add whatever you want to it to personalize for yourself or for gifts. I'm going to make a few for Christmas gifts this year. Everyone likes a journal. Try this product, it's fun and creative !!! If you do get stuck and need advice about using this, go to you tube. The videos will help you if you need it. Thanks :) Have fun with it !!!

    Yay!!! (28-Jan-14)

Please read to the end of my review for a Pro Tip.

I had my eyes on this for a year or two, and there was an AWESOME sale on this so I got one. Totally worth it. I'm a journal and notebook (and pen) freak. No matter what though, I could never find "that one". That one that had the *perfect* paper, with the *perfect* journal cover.

After some serious searching I found my dream paper, and The Cinch will punch about 5 pieces of Strathmore 300 series (320 Smooth Bristol in white) at a time.

    Pro Tip:
If you're doing a cover, and want to layer paper onto it, punch each separately. If you're adding certain amounts of thickness to your project all at once, be prepared for it not to fit. I did this once. I designed a beautiful cover with one layer of the Cinch Bookboard, one layer of thin chipboard, and a medium weight cardstock and since I had already glued down everything it would not fit. I was heartbroken.

The Cinch is a cinch (24-Jan-11)

I bought the cinch after reviewing dozens of binding tools and machines. I have never used any of them but wanted to be able to take my craftyness to a new level of fun. I love this tool. It is now on my crafters "must have" list. It was so easy to use. All the instructions are right on the Cinch plus after watching the youtube video that was right there on the page where I ordered it, I felt like a master book binder. I have made 2 baby books, several recipe books for family and friends and am still working up new ideas. So for anyone looking to expand there craftness to a whole new level this is the tool for you, and your friends, and your mother, and your mothers friends ok well you get my drift.

    I LOVE the Cinch! (20-Dec-10)

I have the Bind it all, but wanted the Cinch because of seeing how easy it is to use on HSN, and having the instructions on the machine itself is great. I find it so much easier and better to use and understand than the Bind it all.

I love having the rack on the side that I can hang the wire on and put the paper in as soon as I punch the holes. I think its more organized that way. It makes book making simplier to me.

I loved the fact that I could use the Bind it all wires that I already own for my new Cinch machine also!! I find it lining up the book is better to me than the BIA, so I would recommend if you like making books, get the Cinch, you'll be glad you did.

The Cinch is a cinch! (06-Feb-11)

Successful with first try! Very easy to use. I love this machine! Just watch the YouTube demos & it really is that easy to use. So much faster and more accurate than my previous method. The binding wires give a very professional look to any mini album or book I make. But because I can pick and choose what holes to punch I can still use book rings if I want. It's great the instruction chart is printed right on the machine so I'm not needing to hunt up the manual each time I use it. Also punches thru mat board and chipboard very easily. I highly recommend this machine for all paper crafters.

Best purchase I ever made! (27-May-13)

So, I have to admit, I was a little skeptical to purchase this product, it was a little on the pricey side...... BUT... I'm so glad I did. I have literally used this machine every single day since I got it. Very easy to figure out how to use,
I was using it within 5 min. The machine is one of the most quality products
I highly recommend purchasing! You'll be hooked on using it. I make lots of mini albums, and this is perfect because I can choose how many holes I need according to my project. Run.....go order yours!!!!!! lol

    Fantastic Binding Tool :):) (06-May-10)

Just received mine last night and just lets say how happy i was to see the size of this machine. I thought it would be larger than it actually is. I would highly recommend this to anyone. I am going to make a book that holds all of my nestabilities this weekend. Cant wait. Just to let you all know;MAKE SURE YOU PUNCH A FEW SHEETS OF PAPER FIRST! Before you use it on your projects! When i tested my first piece of paper it had some lubricate from the factory on the holes. TWO THUMBS UP!

    Fun for my grandsons (04-Dec-13)

May grandsons love making their own books. My 3rd grader is currently making a dinosaur book. He alternates lined paper with drawing paper. He writes the information about each dinosaur then either draws or pastes a picture on the next page.
When all done they can punch the holes and put the binders on by themselves.
One of these days I will get a chance to use it. I want to make a special album for each of my children.

    Fantastic! (04-May-10)

I have the BIA and have loved using it but didn't like trying to do larger projects because of having to make the the holes to be even. The Cinch does it all for me and when I'm hurrying through a project, such as binding books for my primary students, it is truly a "cinch." I have a new favorite and have no problem recommending it to anyone who wants something easy and simple and accurate.

Why I bought the Cinch and not the Bind it All (26-Jun-13)

After reading a million reviews on both, I chose the cinch because it can accommodate a longer item. You can also adjust the holes and it is very easy. I don't think the claim that squares are stronger than holes is valid. I had no problem getting the wires round and I like having the directions right in front of me on the base of the Cinch.

    Cinch binding machine (04-Jan-12)

I waited a long time to buy a binding machine. Didn't think I had much use for one. But lately the price has become so reasonable I bought myself one for Christmas! Haven't used it yet but can't wait. I decided on this machine because it is very ergo friendly. I have severe arthritis in my fingers and this machine is the one for me!

    Great and easy! (27-Feb-12)

I love my cinch bindery tool! it's very easy to use and i like choosing what kind of wires i want to use and how many holes i want to make. The only thing that i didn't like so much it's that this tool punch like 10 pages at once and in the box and reviews say: 20 photocopy pages. But that's all, i'm in love with this tool.

    BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS (15-Aug-14)

First I have a notebook that has that many rings to punch. Now I can add pages to it.
Second there are calendar projects I have wanted to do that this will be perfect for.
It is not a bad size and it allows us to use more than one type of binding with this.

    Cinch v.s. Zutter (01-Feb-11)

I purchased the Zutter binder a year ago. It works BUT is difficult to get the holes evenly spaced. When I saw the Cinch on sale, I thought it was a good time to try it. The directions are clear, the product perfect, and I couldn't be happier.

I Wish I Could Give It More Than 5 Stars! (10-Apr-10)

I am totally in love with the latest scrapbooking tool from WRMK. It's lightweight, but very sturdy and extremely well-made. Having the instructions for the tool printed directly on the surface is a major bonus in my book. Searching for irritating little manuals when you have a sudden case of absentmindedness is now a thing of the past!

The wire binding hooks on the side are a most welcome convenience. Since it punches holes instead of rectangles, my papers and covers glide over the coils instead of dragging and getting caught. But I think what makes me happier than anything else is the fact that I can keep my books and creations completely flat while I'm "Cinching" the coils closed. (It drove me absolutely bonkers trying to hold things aloft during the coil closing step when I was using my BIA! My coils always ended up oddly-shaped.) It punches holes at 2:1, so I can use the wires I already have in my supplies from previously using the BIA. Yay! :)

Though the Cinch is the rookie binding tool in the scrapbooking world, it has already proven itself to be far superior to its antiquated predecessors in every possible way. All of its great features combined with the punching power of a Crop-a-dile make this tool a must-have.

I got rid of my Bind-it-all last night and will never, ever think about it again. The Cinch has erased it from my memory and I couldn't be happier!

  • The Cinch is the best tool for binding books (10-Feb-11)

This is an amazing tool and easy to use. The pegs stuck a little bit at first, but after working the pegs a bit in the initial punching and cleaning to get the extra oils off, it worked fine. I made and created a wedding sign-in guest book for my daughter and husband. They wanted pictures of them growing up, when they met and engagement on two opposite corners of each page. The center of the pages was where everyone wrote their congrats and good wishes. The front and back chipboard covers were also designed & covered by me. Then the completed book was binded together with the Cinch Bindery Tool.

    Sweet!! (26-Apr-10)

It is easy to use and you can engage or disengage the number of punches you would like to use. You can use all 12 or just two punches. This machine gives you the ability to punch larger than a 12 inches. There is a tab on the side that holds the paper or chipboard in place. I also like that the instuctions are right on the base. On the cinching side, you can adjust the wire side and see while you are cinching.

At first the punch tabs felt weird, but once you get the hang of it, it is AWESOME!!

  • Love the Cinch (18-Jan-11)

I have had a bind-it-all for a couple of years but when I saw the Cinch demonstrated I knew this was something I had to have. I like the way it punches circles. I like the way you can stack your project after you have punched it on the side. I like that you can lie the project down to punch instead of standing it up and hoping that you have it in correctly. Having the punch guide information on the machine itself is a great feature as well.

The Cinch is very easy to use. A bit heavy to carry to crops but a great tool to have.

  • The Cinch makes binding pain free! (13-Jan-11)

I have used another bindery system (I didn't purchase it, only borrowed) and wanted one of my own so badly, but with the other system everytime I went to bind the pages, my fingers would get pinched. Then I saw the Cinch. I watched youtube videos of its use over and over again and then I broke down and bought one. I couldn't be happier with it. There was a bit of a learning curve to getting the holes where I want them using the little on board ruler system they have. I recommend watching their youtube video and always practice punching on a scrap piece of paper cut to the same length as your project as safety insurance. That's the only reason I gave it four stars, and it's probably just that I'm so unsure of myself.
It punches through thick chipboard as easy as my crop-a-dile (thanks again WE R Memory Keepers) and even has handy dandy little hooks on the side to hold your binding wire for your project.

I love that the guide is so easy to adjust and that I can easily see where everything is going to punch
I have used this with several friends and even my friend with carpal tunnel can punch with ease on the Cinch.

I have had the best results with my Cinch but I did watch videos over and over again and did just practice with it before I ever tried my first project. I have had great results with the tools I have purchased that are We R Memory Keepers brand and this Cinch is no exception.

I do wish there were a larger range of sizes of the "o" wire that you could use with it, but that's because I tend to make all my projects chunky but even so I haven't yet had a project that actually needed bigger wires. You can use other brands of wire to bind with (found some on clearance and gave it a try).

    great tool! (01-Jul-14)

I bought this product from amazon and I love it easy to use and portable it is a great product and would not trade it for anything myonly issue is really not a problem just something to make you aware of once you cinch it at the end of the steps it sort of flattens the wires a bit but honestly it still looks really professional defnatley worth the investment!

    Not exactly a cinch (06-Oct-10)

Am I the only one not totally thrilled? It is easy to use and does what it claims to do. My biggest complaint is that the paper gets jammed in the machine regardless of how many sheets you are trying to use. Everything was fine for about the first 30 sheets of punching. Now I have to use a spatula to ease the paper down from the pegs. Also, be sure to check that all the confetti has left the area. If not, it will prevent you from lining up the paper properly to punch. Not sure if I will live with the inconvenience or try to exchange for another one.

    Very disappointed (07-Jun-11)

I received the Cinch for a gift and just got it out on Saturday and everything worked fine. Today I had a big project as I was trying to bind 27 family address books to be sent out to my family members. The darn machine broke after just doing about 3 of the books. Then punches are stuck in position. They won't go up or down. This machine is worthless and I don't hold out much hope for the customer service to call me back. Don't buy!
