Interests: Reading (mostly histories and mysteries), crochet (mostly afghans), scrapbooking, RVing and travel, birding
Work: Retired--At Last!
Bio: I may not be fast, but I am persistent--the fact that I am doing this Bio all over again proves that! Somehow I managed to miss that little "Submit" at the bottom of the page and lost everything. So, once again . . . .

DH and I are both in our 60's, retired not too long ago, and are having more fun than we ever imagined possible. After spending our working lives tied to desks, we are going crazy with all this freedom 24/7.

DH is a man with a restless mind and a wide variety of interests--Type A, can't sit still for long, hard to keep up with. He is a creative person and has for many years now channeled that creativity into wood. He has made most of our beautiful furniture, many things for our home, and is currently very much into wood turning. All of this works greatly to my benefit. Over the last 37 years we have gone through a lot of hobbies/activities together, so I have tried a lot of things that I never would have done if I had never known him. In the future I hope to put together an album on him that will do him justice.

We have no children or grandchildren but do have LOTS of nieces and nephews, all grown now and starting families of their own. Even our four-legged fuzzy-faced "kids" (English Springer Spaniels) are long since gone. We still talk about them frequently and laugh over their escapades. I have written a little story about them, which I hope in the future to illustrate/scrap. Currently I am getting things together to make their memory album.

I have only completed two scrapbooks, both travel books, but am in the process of starting a major genealogy and family history book. It is a daunting task as my family found boxes and boxes of old photographs, letters and memorabilia after our parents passed away, much of which had been saved by their parents. I feel intimidated by the size of the job and so am trying to slowly chip away at it a chunk at a time. For the most part everything is now sorted and organized but that's about it. In the meantime I am reading everything I can find on how to go about this and am also getting together, piece by piece, equipment that will be most helpful (just got my scanner!).

I have a long list, which keeps getting longer, of all the things I want to do--read more; write a little; learn to speak passable French; learn to draw and start an art journal/altered book; get into ancestry.com and get the genealogy and family history stories recorded; exercise more; travel; and on and on and on--and still squeeze in plenty of time to scrap those albums mentioned above.

Although I don't seem to fit the major demographics of this website, I do look forward to "meeting" a variety of people here. It is very enjoyable and educational to hear from people of a variety of backgrounds and points of view, no matter what the subject.
