several years ago I worked with a few women who talked scrapbook, at lunch, all the time! I got to see their books as they progressed. One did exceptional calligraphy (often using gold ink) and another layered hand made and unique papers (each page she made was like a masterpiece suitable for framing). To this day I am still impressed by their work. In a dog-eat-dog corporate environment, it was amazing to see this creative side of these women. They were bonded by scrapbooking across different and often competing departments. So I decided to take the plunge and make a Mexico Vacation scrapbook. First off, I could not believe how long it took to make and how expensive that book ended up being. I spent more and worked longer on that book then I spent on the trip! And that was that. I swore off scrapbooking and did not do any for years.
Then I got the brilliant idea to scrapbook my boyfriends cycling events to help him Market his business. That was all it took and I was back into the scrapbooking world! New supplies, new tools, shopping at LSS (instead of just Michaels), going to my first crop, taking scrapbook classes, the list goes on & on. and I just LOVE scrapbooking again. I am so glad I gave scrapbooking another try!
I have been a photography enthusiast for years. In the last few years I have converted to a digital camera, starting printing photos at home, upgraded my photo editing skills to Photoshop CS2, and started making digitally more elaborate photos (with text), journaling elements, titles, custom stickers, photo montages, etc. I have made a few scrapbook projects 100% digitally but continue to return to traditional scrapbooking materials.
