MY STYLE
I'm a product based scrapbooker. I know that a scrapbooker supposed to "focus on the pictures"-- which I do, don't get me wrong-- but I love scrapbooking for the hobby that it is. Creating and recording memories is awesome, but I like to scrapbook for the paper, the glue, the glitter, the chipboard, and anything else I can think of. I like to make cards, but I haven't yet ventured far into the realm of altered items-- can't wait to get material for mini books and mod podge to play with!
I love sketches, especially PAGEMAPS. My layouts are usually very linear. My favorite thing to do is play with chipboard-- paint it, glitter it, cover it, ink it, leave it alone. Whatever there is to it, but I don't want it preprinted! That's no fun. I like to play with paint and I love to stamp.
I am anxiously awaiting the release of the Making Memories Slice die cutting machine. They changed the release date to October, which is actually better for me because I am almost forced to wait until Christmas instead of buying it with my savings (yes, I thought about it-- I'm so bad!). I am so pumped for a small, affordable digital die cutting machine. I don't need to cut something 24" long, don't want to spend $80 on a cartridge, can't hook it up to my computer, and needn't spend $8 at a time on dies! And an added bonus? Making Memories is my one-stop company for tools. I love their customer service and all of their products. I hope I'm not disappointed.
Right now I'm working on a number of projects. I make cards year round, but I know I have to start my Christmas cards soon or I'll never finish them in time-- I have enough time when school starts, but I feel much less crative after a long day of biology and U.S. history. I'm making a 2009 calendar for my mom. I'm working on albums for my summer camp experiences and for my "becation" to Assateague Island. I've long been working on filling a mini album for my two little cousins, and my Barack Obama speech pictures are still waiting to be showcased! I like to have a variety of projects going all at once so when I sit down, I have a lot of options and I'm not constricted by what I "have" to do. Unfortunately, it doesn't result in a lot of finished work very quickly!
