    A medium with multiple talents

I use Magic Medium - White as a collage-type medium which can be used in all the traditional ways, but is a little bit more liquid so that it can be used to blend with inks and sprays to lighten colors and for a more fluid texture to use as 'paint.' I can't get it to work as magically as Heidi Swapp does, though! LOL Scrapbook.com has a great instructional video with her on how to use this product.

Questions & Answers
  • In the class, Heidi seems to use this in the same way that I would use plain old cheap white acrylic paint. Can anyone tell me why this is better? What can it do, that acrylic paint can't?

    • It's called Magic Medium because it's like a Mod Podge in consistency. So she uses it as a paint but also as an adhesive. There are two types one dries clear and one is opaque. • Thank you for emailing Scrapbook.com with your question. They have sent it on to me to help. This is actually Heidi Swapp's Opaque Magic Medium (not "white" magic medium"). It can be tinted like white acrylic paint, but it also has a medium in it to act as a resist. Acrylic paint can not resist color shine. The cool thing about it is that you can tint it, though, like you can with acrylic paint. Yet, when it is dry, you can continue to add layers to your project without the color changing in the medium.

To better explain it, Heidi has a few video tutorials. Watch the Magic Medium video first to see the difference between the two mediums. Then, watch the Opaque video afterwards.

I hope this helps! Have a wonderful day!
