I have had trouble finding a blank 12" x 12" calendar, so I took a chance on this one. This calendar is technically the correct size, but the 12" x 12" size includes the binding. I am disappointed that I won't be able to make a 12" x 12" layout and attach to the calendar. It is also made from very lightweight paper. I opened it to check it out so I can't return it, but I won't use it.
I'm making one of these for my sister and one for my brother. I plan to send them by the end of November, so they can have them for DEC already. I look online for "funky" holidays and add things like "national cheeseburger day" and "national welding month" to the calendars, illustrating them with mini-drawings or stickers. The 12x12 size is perfect for just putting a 12x12 paper as a background based on the month of the year or the photos to coordinate with it. I have a great time doing these and unlike on-going albums, they have a clear stopping point.
Highly recommended as Christmas gifts for the most special people in your lives. Oh, and the price is really good, as well.
LOVE THESE CALENDARS. BEEN USING THEM FOR NEARLY 10 YEARS. THEY ARE JUST THE RIGHT SIZE TO DECORATE WITH 12X12 CARDSTOCK AND PAPERS. LOVE THE SIZE OF EACH BLOCK, PLENTY BIG ENOUGH TO GET MORE THAN 1 EVENT PER DAY, PLUS STILL SEE THE DATE FROM ACROSS THE ROOM.
I have purchased this same calendar for the past 8-10 years, maybe more, to make yearly calendars for my daughters. They love the big squares for documenting appointments and such. Please don’t ever stop making this calendar. ❤️

I notice on the fine print on the calendar, it says "holidays & dates for 2016-2017 & 2018". Is this going to work for 2020? I used to get these calendars a few years back and really enjoyed making them. Thanks in advance for your response.

The calendars currently in stock say holidays & dates for 2019 - 2020 - 2021. The calendar itself is undated so you can add your own dates/years. The back page has the holidays and dates on it.

Hi! This calendar is made with a lighter weight paper and would likely not work well with watercolors. Hope this helps.
