Yes, you can add pages but the outside if this book has a solid piece between the front and back cover so if you make it thicker it will not close. Not really an option unless you cut that part out.

Scrapbbook.com sells additional pages for the K & Company 12 x 12 books. I have used them for to make several large scrapbooks of 20 - 30 pages.
The extenders just do not hold well in that large of a book. I use the Pioneer Snapload Conversion Kit. You will need two kits for a scrapbook with three hole pages. You will also need 3 or 4 packages of 12" cardboard spacers so that the pages lie flat. I purchased the snapload kits and spacers from Amazon.com. Hope that helps!
