    Favorite Pad!

This has become my favorite black ink pad! I love that it is acid free and permanent! It makes the stamps POP! I love that there is no smudging. It is easy to use and lasts through a lot of stamps. With daily use, I got about a month of use before needing to add ink. Hint: store your stamp up side down. That will keep it from drying out.

    Favorite Permanent Ink

Can't go wrong with this ink...water resistant - you can use watercolors, markers - anything - over it and there will be no bleeding or wicking. And it is terrific for stamping the most detailed stamp images - rubber or acrylic.

Waterproof and permanent--great for art journaling

I use the Ranger Archival Ink pads for art journaling (as well as cardmaking). Since this ink is waterproof and permanent, I can use it to stamp on a journal page and then use any type of water media with it or over it without worry.

    ...

This is a great archival ink. It gives a nice crisp impression every time. I have to be honest...I’ve never used another brand of archival ink so I can’t compare it to others. I’m so pleased with this one why stray? It came to me highly recommend by the top YouTube card makers and scrapbookers. I definitely did my research before deciding on this one and I’m very pleased. I pretty much use it for everything. It’s my go-to black ink of choice.

    This is a PERMANENT ink!

Just needed a new black ink pad for stamping, missing the fact that its permanent ink. Now I'm unable to clean the clear stamps I used with it. My fault for missing that.

Questions & Answers
  • Can this ink be used with alcohol markers without smearing?   By: Jeannie2217 (22-Oct-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Archival Inks are not compatible with Alcohol based markers, if you stamp with Jet Black Archival and color with Copics the Archival will smear, however Distress Inks like Black Soot will work when dry and to prevent any smearing you can heat set your image 1st to speed up the dry time so you can color quicker.
Archivals are great to stamp over an Alcohol Ink background where you stamp over the background or you can even wipe off the Archival Ink to create a resist pattern over the alcohol background. • I noticed there is a reinker for the Black Soot but I have not been able to find one for the Jet Black. Are the colors the same, just a name change. My Jet Black is running low.   By: Groomes (03-Aug-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Both Jet Black and Black Soot are Black Archival Inks but they have different hues and are not identical. The Jet Black Archival Reinker's item number is ARR30799 however, it is out of stock at the moment on Scrapbook.com. By: Ranger Ink (06-Aug-20) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Hello, According to Ranger website, no, not the same. Jet Black reinker has product ID of ARR30799, while Black Soot has product ID of ARD51091. I think color values will also differ. Meaning Jet Black will be more intense and crisper than the Distress colors (Black Soot), when stamping. I have used Black Soot in the Distress line (non-permanent) and it does not give crisp images. But, that is the desired result of Distress products. By: dsanusa (06-Aug-20) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

  • What may be used to clean this ink off the stamps?   By: mwolf (05-Apr-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Ranger makes a stamp cleaner but you can also use hand sanatizer or alcohol just make sure you follow up with soapy water and a lint free cloth to remover the harsh chemicals even with the ranger solution as it has an oily residue that will prevent stamping with water based inks. By: gibbst (07-Apr-20) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • Archival Stamp Cleaner is a water based cleaner that cleans Archival Ink off of your stamps safely. The cleaner will cleanse the ink off of your stamps but Archival Inks do sometime stain stamps unlike dye based inks because they are a permanent ink.
