Chipboard For The Cricut!! Works well with the Zutter Bind-It-All

I bought this chipboard by reading a review that this works wtih the Cricut. It doesn't work all that great with the Cricut using the deep cut blade setting low, pressure high, blade depth 6, setting on multicut. Although it will cut through this chipboard for some designs most times the blade and housing will skip and jump over the chipboard creating an undesireable effect. It took a full sheet of chipboard to get one good diecut.

I read in a thread that you can put your deep cut blade in the regular green housing. So I tried it and it worked. I then tried to cut the chipboard I bought from scrapbook.com which
    it did work!!
Here is how I cut the chipboard from scrapbook.com:

    Speed: Medium
    Pressure: Max
    Blade Setting: 6
Blade: Deep cut blade put into the regular green housing.
    Multi cut: 8 times

How did I multi cut 8 times you ask?

    1. I went to settings pressed ok button until I got to multi cut menu
    2. used arrow keys to chose multi cut to 4 times
    3. then pressed settings again to exit.

    ---------------
To cut this chipboard try the following:

    1. Chose my image
    2. Press cut: It will multi cut 4 times.
    3. Then press load paper: The paper will reload to starting position.
    4. Press load last: Your last image will reload.
    5. Press cut again: It will multi cut 4 more times.
    6. Don't forget to remove you deep cut blade from green housing and put in your regular blade in the green housing.

It does work well with the zutter bind-it-all for making your own chipboard albums.

    Perfect thickness

I bought these 12 x 12 thin chipboard to make five identical albums. They are the PERFECT thickness for this. Since adding paper on both sides plus embelishments, your final product does not look like a toddlers storybook,(referring to those super thick pages of the storybooks)on the contrary, the final product ends as elegant and beautiful as you expect, even with everything you add. I am super Happy and Pleased with it.

    scrapping Nana

Along with scrapbooking and card making I make decorations for convention dinners. For Christmas I got a new big shot and one of the new sizzixZ die cutsd(the tea cup). It cut the chipboard like a dream. Everyone at my stamping club wants me to order more chipboard so they can make their own 3d tea cup.

Now I'm ready to try it with my cricket.

    great stuff

I bought this item after searching all over the place for chipboard I could cut with my Cricut. This stuff is great! I will keep ordering it for sure. The only problem I have is the deep cut blade for Cricut is not reliable, but this chipboard is wonderful.

  • Hi I'm new to scrapbooking and was just wondering what tools I need to cut this chipboard, how I can make my own shapes from the chipboard such as a baby bottle and what I should use to cut excess paper off of the shape I've cut out if there is any overhang once the paper is glued on? I hope someone can help :)   By: MaisieMooCow (04-May-16) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • If you do not have access to a die cutting machine, then I would use an X-acto knife or similar blade that will allow you to make neat and intricate cuts. As far as making your own shapes, you can find simple designs on the Internet, in children's coloring books, or plastic stencils purchased from a craft store. Simply trace the object onto the chipboard - I would use a pencil so that any ink from a pen or marker does not bleed or show through when you cover the chipboard with paper. Once your paper is glued on, you can trim the excess paper with your craft knife or lightly sand the edges with ultra fine sandpaper. Hope this helps. Enjoy your journey into scrap booking, but watch out because it's addictive! By: debbyjonewman (09-May-16) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. • The chipboard is not recommended for the Brother Scan N Cut. It is too thick to use with the blades included. By: Amber Boren (30-Mar-16) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!
