You can watch this video by Karen Burniston to get a picture of what a base tray is....its slightly more than 10 mins. It's very informative as it gives you a full picture on what movers and shapers and those other dies that we can use as "base trays" (if you already have them in your collection) so you don't need to buy the actual base tray. However, if you just need to see the base tray in action, go straight to 7:30 mins into the video where Karen starts to talk about the Sizzix original base tray. It definitely works in a Big Shot.

Hi. I don't think these will work with the Grand Calibur. I get the impression that only thin dies and embossing folders work with this machine.
