Raised Tags
Submitted by: Brianna McCarthy
I love the look of rectangular or square tags which have a raised, slightly smaller area for labelling. They give dimension to cards and pages and i have discovered, are fun to make.

I start with a tag template of choice in a sturdy card stock.
Then I cover the tag in a paper of my choice.
I choose a contrasting or matching or complimentary or even completely wacky paper or card stock to make the actual labelling space and I cut a square or rectangle which is proportionately smaller than the main tag.

To create height I stick two lengths of double sided tape together leaving the covered sides facing out. Next I cut this length into small and medium squares, rectangles and strips. These are saved in a box or envelope for use as double sided stickies when needed next.

I used one square of double sided tape or a square of two pieces of double sided tape for added height, stuck to the back of the smaller tag after it has been labelled or embellished. The protective paper on the other side of the sticky is removed and the tag is placed into the center of the larger tag.

I like the effect this gives on a page and I have experimented with two and three layers of double sided tape for even more depth.
