- To punch holes in paper, for brads, buttons, or thread, I put the paper on my mouse pad, then punch the hole. (Don't tell my dh!) It's great because it's soft and it puts a hole in the paper without putting a hole in anything else!
- When I'm getting ready to sew buttons onto paper, I first put the button on the paper where I want it, then make pencil marks where the holes are. Then I (once again using the mouse pad) punch the holes before sewing the button on. This saves a lot of guesswork!
- Lots of times I cheat when I adhere vellum if I'm putting something over it, if only by a little bit. I put the picture or journaling or whatever on the vellum first, and then I put a sticky square on the back of the vellum where the picture is; that way, you can't see it but it still sticks. I don't know if that makes sense...
