I didn't have the greatest childhood or the best family. By scrapbooking my childhood and pages dedicated to individual family members, I relieve the built up anger and resentment towards that family member or that life event. Scrapbooking works so well because everyone always smiles in pictures and the event always looks like fun or at least calm in pictures. So by staring at the pictures and trying to make the layout pretty, it puts a nice spin to my memories.
And I do feel very calm after organizing my supplies and after completing a page. All in all, great therapy for a not-so-happy childhood.
