Altered Domino
Submitted by: IcePanthress
Altered Dominoes can be fun for your layouts or cards. There are several sizes of dominoes. You can use the larger dominoes but they tend to be a bit large for layouts. You can also make these larger dominoes into necklaces or even Christmas ornaments. The smaller, mini dominoes are much more the size you would want to use for your layouts.

To start, you will need to soak your dominoes in bleach water overnight. This will remove the sheen on the domino and allow the ink to penetrate the surface better. Once your dominoes have been soaked, you can use a piece of sandpaper or sanding block to rough the surface a bit. This will also help. You will be altering the smooth side of the domino, so make sure to sand that side.

Next, get a plastic glove and you will apply Ranger Alcohol Ink to your domino. Drop a small amount of ink onto your domino and rub in with your glove. You can add several colors, make one end more bold than the other, etc. Rub the ink or inks over the smooth side of the domino until you get your desired look.

Now you should choose a stamp you want to use on your domino. Apply "Staz-On" Ink to your stamp and stamp right onto your domino. Clean your stamp thoroughly and allow your domino to dry completely.

Once your stamping has dried you can color with pens, markers, sharpie markers, etc. You can edge your domino with a leafing pen or embossing powder. This makes the domino look more finished.

Now you should seal your domino with a "Krylon" sealant, Diamond Glaze, or even "UTEE".

Now alter some dominoes and put on the Reflections board! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
