Sharyn Sowell, an artist and designer for Sizzix is a thrifty crafter who likes to get as much bang for her buck when she uses die cutting in her paper crafts. Sharyn visited Scrapbook.com and filmed a five-part video series where she explains how to get more mileage out of your dies. Sharyn uses a few simple dies to create a variety of projects from lanterns to banners, mini albums to cards, paper chains to barrettes and more!
In this first lesson, Sharyn shows you how to create paper lanterns using her Sizzix Bigz L Die Lantern with Nautical Embellishments and a string of holiday lights.
Here, Sharyn demonstrates how to use one die to adorn a paper chain, candlesticks or a barrette.
Next, Sharyn shows how to create darling DIY mini boxes that could be used to hold party favors, small gifts or be used as decorations.
In this video, watch as Sharyn uses a simple bracket die to create a beautifully bound piano hinge album.
Last, but not least, Sharyn explains how color choices make an incredible impact. She shows how using one die with multiple colors of cardstock and patterned paper can change the look of a card and create three totally different styles.
