Bazzil vs Joann's texture cardstock

I love bazzil. I was looking at the single sheet of textured cs at Joann's 5/$1 and wondering if I could use JoAnn's and feel the same way or if I am too much of a Bazzil snob.
How do you feel??

I don't know about the textured CS @ J's, but they have some at Hobby Lobby that simply CANNOT compare to bazzill...the weight is not as heavy, I don't like it at all! LOL

I dont think any CS compares to Bazzil. But i will use any kind- so much of the pp gets covered that i dont think it matters. JMO
(not that i dont appreciate its beauty tho)

I found some great card stock at Joannes. It is called gemstones and is very similiar to Bazzil Bling and comes in some gorgeous colors. I used it alot in the wedding album I just finished. Here it is in one of my LO's

The DCWV textured CS at J's is white core and I think it has a little sheen that Bazzill doesn't. I have become a Bazzill snob, but will buy the DCWV or cheap CS at ACM when the color Bazzill I need isn't available.

As far as I know, the open stock at Joann's is DCWV. I was told that by a store employee. If you look through a lot of their open PP, it is papers from the DCWV Stacks. Also, there is HOTP papers at Hobby Lobby and they aren't bad for mats & diecuts but I wouldn't use them for a background paper. I am not a Bazzill snob as my pocketbook doesn't afford me that luxury but I do prefer the textured cardstock of DCWV. They even have their line of metallics that is very nice and a close replacement to Bazzill Bling.

I test and use and if I like, I buy more. If I don't like, I pass it along to someone else who might be able to afford Bazzill either.

I find the Bazzil to be a little heavier weight which makes a difference to me when using for backgrounds. If I am making cards, swaps then I might use the DCWV if bought on sale... But overall I prefer the Bazzil.

If it's 5 for a $1 you can't go wrong. I'll usually just buy basics like black and white. But I do notice DCWV has a sheen to it that I don't like and it's almost, for my taste TOO textured so I find myself using the back side of it which I actually like better!

I used to be a Bazzill snob, but switched over to Cardstock Warehouse. It's completely smooth on one side and textured on the other, so it's perfect for stamping. I just like it better than Bazzill!

I love Bazzill to death but I am a textured cs freak so I will use both Bazzill and DCWV.

I actually really like the American Crafts CS......I think it's just as good a quality as Bazzill and much less expensive, especially if bought in the bulk packs. I have some of both sorted together by color and honestly you cannot tell the difference. Check out the price difference.....the AC cs is $17 for 60 sheets vs. Bazzill $10 for 25 sheets. The weight on the AC is the same and there are just as many colors if not more. JMO...

I've been scrapping almost 3 years and have never used Bazzill cardstock (love their paper flowers though!!!) I just cant justify the cost per sheet. I was using DCWV for a long time, but I hate the white core. Then last year I found Core'dinations. I bought 4 of their super assortment stacks for around $80 (along with some of the black magic- so 7 stacks total) and a year later it looks like I havent even made a dent in it. I loooooove Core'dinations.

eta: Duhhhhh, cant believe I forgot about AC. I have their basic black and white here. Love theme too

Bazille, joannes, Michaels,My Minds Eye, Walmart, Target, Bo Bunny, American Crafts, Bascic Grey etc. you get the idea if it's paper I'll buy it.

Bazzill CS is wonderful and I love it, but I also think the American Crafts CS is terrific (and cheaper). I use both.

I have no preference as long as it does the job of being the supporting background for the LO.

I agree that Bazzill has qualities that alot of the other cs doesn't have and if I can catch it on a good sale, then I get some. But only if it's a good price. Otherwise I use DCWV and/or others. I'm like debib55, if it's paper I'll buy it! LOL! They all have their advantages, I guess. But, where do you get American Crafts CS? I don't think I've tried any of theirs, and it sounds like it's a good price.

J's carries more than one brand of paper,,,,,they carry both DCWV textured and also The Paper Company textrued (and non textured) CS,,,,,

I absolutely L O V E the paper company cs,,,,,,,

love love LOVE it,,,,,,,,it's so smooth it's like cloth,,,,,,,,

Having said that,,,,,I absolutely can not STAND Bazzill,,,,,,,,,it's like plastic,,,,,,yuck, hate the stuff, lol,,,,,,,,but then again, I really don't care for ANY textured cs, but Bazill is just HORRIBLE IMHO,,,,worse than any others,,,,

so it's all what you like,,,,,,

If you like Bazill, I can't help but think you'll probably NOT like the Paper Company paper,,,,,,

I prefer both bazzill and American Crafts over DCWV; though between bazzill and AC I have no preference; I bought the AC Christmas pack after Christmas at Michaels last year and love it!

They carry it right here in the superstore.....I bought several packs at the SB Expo that came to Orlando in March....it was a little cheaper and no shipping fees. I've also seen it at 1 particular M's near me, but I've not seen it at some of the other M's....not sure why that is.

They never have the colors in packs that I want of Bazzill at M, J or A. I can't justify spending .69 on a single color. Plus I go bonkers trying to settle on a single color. I could be there ALL day.

You want Sheen, I got SHEEN for Ya'! I LOVE DCVW glitters. I am IN LOVE wtih that paper. It happened when I did a punch of it with some flower punches. Now,everytime I go into A, J or M and don't need anything. I want use my couple for no good reason on a glitters stack, lol.

I love all brands of cardstock!

I love the white core of DCWV becuase it can be sanded and embossed. Bazzil is 1.30 a sheet in Canada so I don't get it.
