organizing 12x12 paper-ideas needed!!!!

Hey all!
I was hoping to get some ideas! I'm looking for a way to store my 12x12 paper. I'm not sure how or what to do. All I know is the one drawer i have now isn't working. Thanks!!

I use the Cropper Hopper paper holders. It stores paper vertically which I really like - makes it easier to search through for the paper I want. I've tried horizontal storage and just don't feel that they are as user friendly as storing vertically.

I also use the Cropper Hopper holders. They are awesome!! I have 2 of the sets right now, which each come with 1 big holder and 4 small ones. The bigger ones can hold up to 200 sheets each and the smaller ones can hold up to 50. Since I buy alot of paper pads, I use the smaller ones for paper pads that I've taken apart, so that I can keep the sheets together and also store any of the papers that I've cut but can still use. Then, I use one of the bigger holders for cardstock, divided by color, and the other for patterned paper sheets, divided by pattern. It's been a wonderful system for me! I even have an 8x8 size for those smaller papers that I have...

If you have a lot of paper and some space to keep it then I would go with the Cropper Hopper vertical paper holders - they are very easy - I used several to organize my paper by color. I purchased them with a coupon at M's or ACM - I would use a 50% off coupon and get the vertical storage value pack with comes with the larger holder and several small holders and some dividers. I use the smaller ones for themed papers - such as disney, etc.

Look in the gallery for examples - there are a lot. These vertical holders also fit perfectly in the white storage cubes at ACM and M's has. I just got a few - it helps to be able to pull the entire holder out. Also, when they are stored in the cube - the others don't fall down like when I had them just on a shelf.

someone posted on here about a 12x12 vertical file thingie from office depot. I haven't seen it in person or online so I have no idea what it looks like or what comes with it but it's something I think I might be interested in.

Right now all my 12x12 papers are in artbins being stored horizontally. I have about 10 artbins so I took all the separators that come with each bin and use them to keep the different papers separate. I don't have TONS of 12x12 so it's not that big a deal to me.

i also use the Cropper Hopper paper things love them i have 17 12 *12 and then one 8*8 love them

i bought some storage shelves at target. they are 7 tall and each "shelf" is its own case. i can take the entire box and travel.

then i organized them by color (patterns included)
red/pink
orange/yellow/brown
green
blue
purple
black/white

I have a set of shelves from the lss and it is made special for paper. It has 30 shelves. I have all my paper sorted by color and pattern. it makes it so nice. I have a list on the wall next to the shelves that list all the paper on the shelves and they are numbered than I numbered the shelves. I put the shelves in my closet and it is nice because It is dust free and safe from all things that could chew it up or spill on it...

Everyone seems to love the Cropper Hopper ...if you can't swing that...purchase a couple of open ended magazine holders (about $5.00 each). They will sit on any flat surface and hold lots and lots of paper. I do this and it has served me very well. One set back is they don't travel well. This may be where having a Cropper Hopper would come in handy. Just in case you go to a lot of crops. Hope you find a solution that will have you scrapping happy.

I love using open ended magazine holders for my 8x11 papers. To divide the different papers, such as I have done with different colors, I use old file folders that I have altered to fit just right. It has worked really well. Now as far as traveling, I have a little paper tote that came with my Cropper Hopper to travel with. For my 12x12 papers I like to use some boxes that I got from my local craft store, they work pretty good now but I don't have a large collection of papers just yet.

i use a cropper hopper too. i've got mine organized by basic cardstock then by color. then in another holder i've got my paper organized by seasonal or theme. for example, i've got all my animal prints together, extra patterned paper, and holidays. i have another holder just for disney stuff. let's face it...it's hard not to just have stuff everywhere! lol!

I bought all cropper hopper storage a while back and it started to bow my paper. (maybe becuase they were not 100% full. )

I recent purchased the paper trays on here to make the storage horizontal.

Now I just need to sell off the 12 cropper hoppers paper storage I have

I also use the Cropper Hopper paper holders. I have them for my 12x12 and 8 1/2 x 11 papers. The dividers make it easy to sort your papers... by color, by brand, by theme or however you sort your papers. The "library" collection by Cropper Hopper is great... it helps when you have something like a DCWV stack (180 sheets) or several collections (from the same designer).

One recommendation... label the "spine" of your paper holder. It makes it easier to find the right paper without searching thru all of your holders. I just summarize the contents of my holders on the label, which makes it easier for me to find the right papers for a specific project.

I have 2 methods of storage. I have a small ScrapRack in which I keep most of my cardstock. The "overflow" cardstock, special cardstock and patterned papers are kept in 2 Smead Retrospect vertical file cases. Each one has 26 divisions, holds 400 sheets, and a latching cover with handle. Everything is sorted by color. Because I don't have a scraproom, I like the portability of the file cases. I bought them both on this website, but they recently stopped carrying them. That's too bad because, although they are not glamorous, they are very sturdy, convenient and keep the papers well protected and dust free.

sb.com DOES carry some great paper organizer cases that latch shut- they are under "ArtBin Totes and Organizers" in the Superstore.

I agree, they are great! I have several to store my paper in, and I tend to be a portable scrapper so I love them!

I store my cardstock in cardboard file box in rainbow order. Pinks, b&w, browns at the end.

My pp is stored by feel for example: I have a funky drawer, a soft drawer, a vintage drawer and a graphic drawer. I use some plastic storage things from Office Max. They aren't pretty, but the drawers are 13x15 or so.

I'm another fan of the Cropper Hopper 12X12 Vertical Paper holder. It allows you to see and select the paper you want to use without bending the edges of the other paper surrounding it.

I love all the cropper hopper stuff!

I use two hanging file carts on rollers that I got out of a catalogue. I love them! They hold 12x12. I have one for my pp and one for my cardstock.

Being a teacher - and someone who recycles - I decided to use a plastic hanging file crate (legal size) with hanging folders. This helped my cardstock to "hang" by color in its own folder, but also makes it easy to grab upwards and go!
