Best way to color mulberry paper??

Hi,
So I decided that I want to put tear bears on my Xmas cards this year. NOWHERE in town had mulberry paper! Finally, I found some white at Hobby Lobby. I was going to use a Re-inker & water to mist it a darker brown. Is there a better/easier/quicker way to color it? I was afraid rubbing it on an ink pad would be too much.

maybe glimmer mist? Sorry never tried it, so can't help ya much.

I have always used watercolor and a brush to color my mulberry paper. I even colored one of those handmade mulberry albums with it because I didn't like the plain tan color.

Chalk? I would really go with an ink pad though. Tim Holtz & Staz On inks are the best.

I would use chalk and then maybe a spray fixative.

I'd be afraid any liquid would do something weird to the mulberry.

I think glimmer mist might be easiest and least messy. You would just have to let it dry.
