Username Post: Sewing paper with sewing machine

I was trying to sew a paper with a sewing machine today and ran into some trouble. The stitches were backwards. The regular stitch shows up on the bottom side of the paper, not the top part where we see it being stitched. I figured either the paper is too thin, the wholes are too big so the stitches do not get hold to stay on their stop.

Does anyone had this problem? Do i need to use some kind of different needle rather than the one that is attached to the sewing machine? I have Brother sewing machine. Please help!
