we will be swapping out whatever you want to give or buy - the maximum amt to be spent is $20-40. you will be assigned a partner and you send your package directly to that person. i am trying to get a consensus of the cost? not sure if everyone may think that is too much- i want us all to agree

any thoughts or ideas ladies

I've never participated in a swap before, so I'm also curious about the process as well as what exactly we'll be swapping this month. I'm single and live alone in sunny (extremely expensive) Florida, so $20 is plenty good for me.
Happy Easter to all!

I agree with $20...
Economy is TOUGH and we don't want to spend too much in postage. Maybe for birthday months your assigned partner can do a little something extra?

Just thinking aloud. =)

I am VERY new to scrapping and I am unfamiliar with the swaps. It sounds like something fun and I do think I would like to participate. $20 is good for me. 9. Favorite scrapbooking technique? I'm unsure. I LOVE card making, though!

Now I know I am not alone.......lol. I really enjoy it and if you look through my gallery you will mostly see my grandbaby, she is my favorite subject, although I wish I had started when my were younger but I will start over with the grands. I am looking forward to this swap. Thanks Monica for starting and hosting the group. :-)

Ladies just wanted to break down for some that are new to a SWAP. I do not know much of it really myself just what was practiced amongst a group of ladies that I met here and how we did ours.
SWAP-Your trash MIGHT just be someone else’s treasure!! We’ve all heard that before!! Well this could just be the PERFECT place for you to recycle your 1/2 used paper stacks and unused embellishments!! Clean out your scraps, dig through your old stickers and bring them out!! OR what we did was always keep your wishlist here updated with little items that you like a lot would like to try or whatever and when we post that we are having a Swap the swappers could try and find that near them to include in the package. That way we really know you like what your getting!
On this site I did a contest once and the woman flaked and I really thought that was distastful.

Swapping is done as a matter of trust among participants. Most of us only know each other through words on a screen -- please keep this in mind as you participate in and host swaps here. We would really like to see a positive swapping environment and hope you will conduct and host swaps in a positive, responsible manner.

If you are unable to continue with a swap due to personal or other reasons, please contact your hostess ASAP so she can find a fill-in. If you are a hostess and feel that you can not continue with the swap, please try to recruit one of your participants to take over.
Hopefully there will be no flakers here.

HEY DID YALL NOTICED I AM A BLABBER MOUTH LOL got to get back to work!

at least you have a job it seems like your pretty good at all this stuff how do you get the messages to like be on the same reply with the person you are writing back to - i see some messages with like a box in it with the reply

and VERY WELL PUT about the swap stuff - if you dont want to participate you dont have to you can just chat and share ideas. I was in a swap with Foxebrown and another lady something different and that went well. I was in a grab bag swap and sent stuff in and have not even gotten a reply that she got my stuff it was sent with a DC. if we get a flaker - they will be removed from the group (its only fair)

i just like getting new ideas - anyone into stampin up or CTMH???

HEY DID YALL NOTICED I AM A BLABBER MOUTH LOL got to get back to work!

agree with everything

It is taking awhile to get the swap portion going only because I am trying to give everyone a chance to get hooked up and settled. The more of us the better.

When swapping with a set price $20 you will swap directly with you partner. You mail your sis the stuff directly to her (cuts down on cost)

if we want to do a card swap like - everyone make 6 cards that are related to a BD the items will be swapped with 6 people so that you get 6 new cards back.

if we were to do a swap that Jojo said any dig up our old items we dont use anymore or want and send it to the hostess who then makes up gift bags for everyone. these are the only types that require that. and actually very nice if you do as she said and create a wish list that way you get what you are looking for or at least close to it.

there are so many things we can do and i know all of you have experienced different things and please feel free to come up with the ideas - the more the better

i hope this helps clear up a few questions we are having -

EVERYONE PLEASE CREATE A WISH
LIST AND POST IT

for the month of May we will do a "My Wish Swap" where your sister will give you items that are on your list - the cutoff cost is $20 what do you guys think of that????

i will post groups by the end of the week

Good afternoon all!
My first swap too, and I'm looking forward to it.
I like the Wish List Swap idea as well. It seems like a great way to start off.

Monica, I've sent you my contact info for the master list. I'll keep sending out prayers. I have a friend who finally started a new job after being out of work since last November, so I know there are still jobs out there. Just remain open to all possibilities and something will turn up.

at least you have a job it seems like your pretty good at all this stuff how do you get the messages to like be on the same reply with the person you are writing back to - i see some messages with like a box in it with the reply

and VERY WELL PUT about the swap stuff - if you dont want to participate you dont have to you can just chat and share ideas.

Hey there to quote someones post at the bottom of the message you will see some boxes on the left hand side and choose the one that looks like a piece of paper when you wave the cursor over it, it'll say quote this post.

I Thank God for this new job I have been let go 2x in less than 3 years its hard out there! I am so so at praying but better at it praying for others so I will ask God to give you favor, the time will come pray and be still ~its Gods time. Have you ever heard the song It's Your Time by Donald Lawerence & the TriCity singers awesome song btw TTYladies later ~Mika

To add an item to your wish list, look below the "add to cart" button and find the light blue "wish list" button with the yellow check mark.

One of the things that I did like about using the sb.com wish list is that you can order it from them and use your address for the bill address and use your swap buddies address as the shipping address.

I just updated my wish list with more items under $20.00. Hint you can not go wrong with Stickles for me. I am trying to keep an updated list on the colors that I have in red, in my Blog. So far I own a whole whopping 10 different bottles of colors.

I wonder how shipping to another address works with the bill and sending a note with the package.

It is usually fairly easy, I have never had a problem with their services. I have also bought gift certificates for peoplw hich have worked out great!

I believe there is an option to choose your billing and mailing address. Anytime you provide payment online they ask billing and mailing address. Let us know if you have problems. Also their customer service is pretty good to to answer any questions.

It is muy facil (easy) to create your iwshlist on sb.com , waaay easy.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and BLESSED morning!

Ok thanks Tricia,

I may have to give ordering a try, I got a 10% coupon on the other day. Do you find that the prices here are comparable with M's and HL?

Most of the things that I order from here is what I can not get some where else. They also have some good bulk rates, like the xyron "X" refills.

Thanks, I will look through the store when I have more time to see what else they have that I cant seem to find here unless I drive clear across to the other side of town. Like Stickles for example.....I have never used it (its glitter glue right?) but everyone raves about it so I wanted to check to see what all the hype was about. :-)

I just talked to someone at sb.com SuperStore and they said that you can ship to a different address from the billing address and add in the comment box that you want a message included.

So we can put something like EbonlyScraps Sisterly Love Swap...(Your Name Here) as the message.

Hello ladies!

Thanks for the invite...I've never participated in a swap before and can honestly say I know I won't be able to be an active participant for several months yet...most likely until the fall. Maybe we can start a generic thread just for sharing and chatting....I love that we've connected and would hate to miss out because I can't take part. I'll definetley follow this thread to keep up with you all.

Many be we should just have a generic forum called EbonyScraps. Or maybe we can just post here and each month who ever wants to be in the scrap will PM their info, this way it will not be as hard to figure out who is swapping that month.

I think its okay to just chat here too, I am sure Monica won't mind, this is all about sisterhood regardless of who swaps or not and who knows maybe you will be able to do it sooner than you think;-). Have a blessed day.

I like being able to chat here, so I'd like to keep it that way and just PM Monica if you want to be included in the swap for that month.

I know how you feel. I have a 19 year old but he still lives home with me but I know the day will come when he will spread his wings and leave.

I know you took some pictures today so I will be expecting to see some layouts soon :-).

I have actually been quite busy today. I got 10 layouts finished today as well as some of my homework. Still have lots of that to got though!
