Holly and friends, what a wonderful challenge and great pages you all did. I had followed this on the boards thinking it was just a funny joke, but you all took it seriously (sort of) and made some wonderfully creative pages! I loved them all. so however you say awesome job on Mars, consider it said!
...Channeling Yoda, am I! My lil alien is in rare form today! We duked it out for almost an hour at nap time because he insisted on having a cover (in this heat). Eventually we discovered a compromise....And an hour later he's crying!
Anne, I agree with you about the winning thing. The entrees were all so imaginative, whimsical, and fun. As for your little Yoda alien, he sounds like me. I tend to need a cover on at least some part of me to sleep. I will kick my feet out and have my arms out, but have at least a sheet thrown across my stomach, even in hot weather. Maybe if you tried a sheet rather than a blanket?
LOL, what ARE we going to do if we have a tie???? Will we have to have ANOTHER vote?? a tie breaker? Or will we simply split the prize pack? Any thoughts on this??? (Prize pack valued at roughly 10 bucks)
Speaking as one who could be part of the tie, I would happily forfeit the goodies. Honestly, I got my prize to see that I was among the final six; and then even better to be among the top two! That alone feels like a tremendous gift.
If we tie, I am happy to split the prize pack or do a second poll. Either way works for me! I would say I'd forfeit the pack to Anne, then she'd say she'd forfeit it to me (which she essentially already said) and it'd be a rock, paper, scissors thing! LOL
Anne, does your yoda have a particular blanket he likes to sleep with? Is that a little bit of what this is about, that he feels the need to sleep with his fave blankie?
It is a little bit of the issue. He's passionate about trains and his great aunt made a train blanket for him -- complete with birth details -- months before he was born. Because of the trains, he loves it. Because of the family connection, I don't mind. So, now he gets to snuggle the beloved blanket and sleep under a Cars bedsheet (also a character favorite) until the weather cools down again.
That's good that you found a compromise! I wonder why people like your DS and me feel the need to have a cover on us? I wonder if it's a security thing or what? Even if I take a nap on the couch, I pull down the throw from the back and put it on me. BTW, thanks for adding me as a friend.
I didn't think it was that odd -- needed a cover. I'm pretty much the same way.Even on hot muggy nights, I at least cuddle the comforter until DH comes to bed. It's a comfort thing. Everyone has a comfort thing.
