Michelle I hope everything is ok with your family. If you want I could show a gallery a few times a week.
Thank you so much, Tina. That would be great. I'll pm you.
My fam is good. The boy is in pain every day. Luckily, we have only needed the "good stuff" a few times. He can mostly get it under control with strong tylenol and ice packs. Surgery in 13 days... he has been feeling depressed, and asked us if he could meet with the child psychologist on the team. We feel so sad for him, but glad that he can articulate what he needs. I think he is scared about what will happen to his leg. We have been preparing him to know that there is a risk of pretty bad nerve damage, since the tumor is trying to take up the same place.
Meanwhile, my daughter was feeling "invisible". I think we have her all better though- we finally found a guitar teacher, and she is delighted to be learning it. And this weekend, my in-laws are coming to visit. We have an Art Walk planned that features all of her favorite creations! She is excited to be the center of attention for a while!
O Michelle, it breaks my heart that you are going thru this again. You have an incredibly smart boy asking for a meeting with a psychologist. I am so sorry he is in pain, but thankful he is at an age he can relay his feelings. And you are doing all the right things with those kiddos, especially keeping your daughter busy with new activities. The guitar will be wonderful therapy for her too.
Hugs and prayers to you all. Enjoy your weekend.
Oh Michelle, I just can't imagine what you're going thru. It just breaks my heart. Your son certainly is a little trooper. I'm glad he's able to articulate his needs. And the guitar lessons for your daughter should help her alot. It should be good for her to focus on something that is totally her own.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so behind on my walks but I will catch up for sure.
I have a friend who is now 50 years old who lost her leg to cancer as a young teen. After that happened she regularly spoke to other young people who were frightened. My friend lives a healthy wonderful life and does not let ANYTHING get in her way! I know that must be his big fear! I hope this story encourages him.
Thank you so much for all your words of support and encouragement, my friends. I can't tell you how much I appreciate them...
Most days are great. We have a fun family with a great sense of humor. While we do feel punched in the nose by the recurrance, and a little more mad about having to re-fight it, please don't think we are sitting around feeling sad all the time. Your thoughts and prayers, and kind words, do have a huge impact on our hearts! I am grateful!
My in-laws came up this morning to whisk the kids on a Grandparents Fun Day. Hubby and I went out to lunch (after buying a new washer/dryer... oooooh, the romance is still alive after 16 years!) and then came back home to have some craft/computer time. I actually scrapped!!
