I totally flaked this month. Sorry ladies. We had a wedding earlier this month. After the wedding we went to visit relatives. Than I got my wisdom teeth cut. I had approximately 12 hours to recover and I got a phone call I need to baby sit because the mom and dad needed to go to hospital. Erica decided it was time to come into this world. So I babysat and when the new baby got home I helped out. So that's my excuse for not being around.
Does anyone have issues with SLlllllooooowwww cutting in CCR? I was trying to cut out a page of letters and it took over an hour. Then it didn't cut through the paper all the way and so another hour. Not complicated letters, only from one cart (Extreme Fonts). Just the same trio of letters over and over for thank you cards.
And a side note. Some of you may remember but just in case anyone wonders: I leave the names of my younger kids off my projects as two of them had their identities stolen (from school records) when they were in 3rd and 5th grade. That's why there are random blanks and extra papers in the ABC album...
I am happy as a peach right now!! I can FINALLY use the pattern cartridges in DS!!! My Imagine still works, but I am afraid to update it with for the new ink so now I can print them...in small scale, but it is a step in the right direction!!
Norma- just finished cleaning my desk too! Hoping to get started with my new Cub Scout cart...last weekend ds won the Raingutter Regatta. I had no idea is was such a big deal but there is a whole image set on the cart just for it!
Sharon. Seriously girl? You amaze me not only with your volume but with the quality.
Kenya, I'm with you on update fears...ha ha, does that shock anyone?
I didn't and never have. I'm always afraid it's going to be something I already have- plus there probably isn't too many I'd want. I did see which ones were in the box this month, as it turns out, none that I would of wanted.
I think it is a great deal if you don't own a lot of carts. Or for like Norma with her generosity!!
Norma on a FB Cricut site, someone shared the 5 carts they received. I was so close to hitting buy but haven't even had the time to use the newest ones I have, plus I've had the Explore for months now and haven't used it. I''ve become a hoarder.
Hi, sorry I haven't been around much this week, busy busy with trips to hospital and DH had surgery this morning for kidney stones...... He did not have the kind of pain Donna had, thankfully, but it made me wonder if that was the real problem when they could not find anything during the surgery. Their reasoning, he passed it... suppose to have been 7mm. How could he not feel that!!
Anyway, hope it settles down next week although I start out the week with two Dr appointments with my mom. Good thing I got plenty of scrapping done at the crop! It might be the last for the month!!
Ok here is the start of a few bombs! Ds's 3rd birthday is tomorrow but this year we've decided to do two parties - one for family which was today and one for his little buddies which will be next weekend. Today's went well - we are all tired! LOL although not as tired I am sure as well will be next one with all the kids running around!
We did a construction theme - here are some of the signs I made to put up!
All used CCR basics. Please don't feel you need to comment on each one since they are not that different! Construction Site By Scrapanda
Amanda is right, that is amazing work for his party! I bet the little ones next week-end will love it too!! Kudos to you and the theme!!
Thank you for all the well wishes for dh. Between you and me I don't think he passed anything!! I don't think the Dr found anything because 1. it had not moved to where he could find it. 2. it was/is not a stone. Both are not good options to contemplate. Dh is still having the pain in the same spot... not as bad right now but then he is still on lots of pain medication... we shall see. In the meantime the out patient surgery he did have has brought on more unpleasant side-affects.
Not much enthusiasm for scrapping right now. I did rearrange my studio over the week end! I figure it comes from moving around so much the first 18 years of our marriage, now that we have been in the same spot for 30 I have to move the furniture every year to get a new look!! Now I'm working on a quilt for my mom.
Oh Sharon, so sorry to hear your dh is still in pain. Cringing for you.
We ended up not camping. Long funny and not so funny story. Got there, set up tent, went fishing, took down tent, came home. I barely got enough photos for a layout but I did and they are printed and on my desk now.
Sharon my son's urologist said a man cannot pass a stone over 5, sometimes smaller. When ds's symptoms passed the origional doc thought the stone passed but after another painful episode a different doc sent us to the urologist who put my son in surgery immediately since it was stuck.
Out of sheer necessity I made another hair bow holder for my dd.
I used a $1.99 plaque I picked up at Hobby Lobby and some old ribbon from my stash. Although the photo doesn't show it...it is FILLED with ribbons already.
Sharon - been through same thing with DH several times - it's SOOO NOT fun!
Michelle - glad you're able to scrap while waiting on next offer.
Amanda - what a SUPER Birthday Bomb!
Norma - all your talk about cleaning up and not wanting to scrap and mess it up - well the tornado went through my room to get the last two finished! Now I'm looking at the disaster and decided perfect time to start packing for fundraiser crop on Saturday. Hope we make it to 200!
Where did September go? I barely got my 3 in again this month. Have been working on more scrap type stuff tho & for Oct I should have several Christmas cards as my girls & I will be making ours in Oct to get them DONE & ready so when December comes & we're all busy- one less thing to think about.
