Once upon a time, things got quiet here on the weekends, so a thread was started to just hang out and do a virtual crop. Since then it has expanded to run all week long. We have our regulars, but new friends are always welcome, too.

FAIR WARNING: We may talk about anything and everything. We're women. We chat. You never know what might come up in conversation.

Sharing your recent scrappy work is encouraged, but there are no guidelines for what or how much you have to do.

So come on! Don't be bashful! And don't be afraid of the fact that this thread MOVES. Just jump in wherever we are, and we'll be glad to get you caught up on what's happening. We never know what we're going to talk about or how silly we will get.

WARNING: Reading of, or participation in, this thread could result in food or drink being sprayed across your computer or sleepless nights ... Just read responsibly.

morning all. Hubby is out the door for a meeting and will be gone until afternoon. I have 20 or 30 things to do and so far have done none of them.
I need to pick my grandmother up at 10 for groceries. I really need my house clean. I want to clean my living room carpet. I need to get food and a cake for Zach's party tomorrow.
Are you officially old when your youngest child turns 18?? And did I mention I have not done Zumba or much treadmill time all week? Ugh

Time to go do something.

Morning.

Just finished breakfast. Sheets and towels in the washer. I have to head out by 9:30 so I'll put another load on.

I need to pick up some groceries, get some cash, find a light bulb for my headlight then come home and change it. Trying a little DIY to save $$. THat might backfire on me.

Went to my scrapbook club (a CTMH thing) and we made a glimmer mist substitute. Lots of fun. I forgot my photos here after all the hassle I went through to print them last week but I will finish the layout this weekend.

I did not sleep well. I now have a cold of sorts. My throat is really sore, sneezing a little and I suspect it will get worse as the day progresses.

hi all.

the boys are better, but still sick. Zach isnt eating and that really concerns me. its not good for him and i can't afford pedia sure as his only source of nutrients.

anyways, DH just got back from rotating his tires. I'm going to return a bathing suit i bought yesterday. i decided i dont love it enough for that price.

i hope you all are having a good weekend!

I'm typing. Kim & Ethan headed home about 11:45. The plan is for me to see how much I can get done, and if it's enough, then Wee Man will be back here tonight so Mama can get some homework knocked out.

Cracked a couple of the windows open. It's only mid-40s outside, but I'm *that* desperate for fresh air in the house (and to get rid of the germies).

Okay...back to the grind....

I am back.

I am finally able to rest.

This morning I went to Weight watchers (we won't talk about my lack of motivation or how much I have spent to not lose anything) then to the store to pick up a lightbulb. Turns out they only charge $10 to change it. When I got it done at the garage, I am sure that I spent over $50 for the bulb and labour. So $21 plus tax and I did not have to get dirty.

Then I came home, called this woman about picking a rolling cart (the fancy CM one she was selling used). I headed out to pick it up but there was a major accident on our highway heading west so grid lock everywhere. It was closed completely so everyone was scrambling to find alternate routes.

One hour later, I got there (usually about 20 mins max on a weekend for that distance). I came home and went to the drug store to pick up some cold lozanges and ColdFX for my cold. My throat is so sore. Also picked up a few groceries.

Shovelled, had lunch, laundry.... and FINALLY, I am sitting down.

I have to rethink this WW on a Sat. It is their last day and since I pay for an entire month, if I miss it I have paid for it. If you pick a Wed. meeting for example and can't make it, you can try to find another location another day.

I hardly slept last night and would have loved to have slept in. No nap time this afternoon either since I wanted to get all my chores done. Now I can go to bed or sleep in tomorrow or both.

so....HOLY SMOKES!

My hubby has been telling me repeatedly that he thinks I should go to Liz's weekend crop in Vermont and the end of April. He says he knows I missed getting to see Liz this last summer and I can finally meet Jane and I should go. Repeatedly. I told him I'd think about it.
11 hours of driving or nearly $300 to fly....I'd think about it.

The other day he came home and told me that he might HAVE to go to a conference in Orlando at the end of May. He doesn't really want to. But he said if I wanted, we could fly down a couple of days early and go to Disney or something and then I can fly home since he'd be in meetings from dawn until dark.

I told him that I really thought that was a cool idea, but I really didn't feel like I should be gone at month-end so many months in a row (our cruise is end of Feb and I usually go to Memories Expo last weekend of March), so if we were going to do that (Orlando) then I definately was not going to Vermont.

He then informed me that he was NOT taking me to Orlando then because he really thought I should go to Vermont. Even if he has to fly me there!

While I would LOVE to meet you, I understand that your drive is much worse than mine. And if you fly, you'd have the added expense.

So I don't want to be one to pressure you.

Take extra time off. Split it into 2 days....yadda yadda

Not to mention, even though it is far.....
I drive several hours a day most days. Not like you or Liz...... or MOST people!!!! LOL

Hi ladies!

Jane - I hope you feel better soon. I hate sore throats!
Elizabeth - cropping with Liz and Jane would be so fun! That drive would be daunting though. My husband and I went to Chicago once and it was an 11 hour drive from MD to there. We got a hotel room after 7 hours or so to split it up.

The longest drive I've done was a 13-hour day from NJ to IN. Yes, it was long, but it wasn't bad since I was focused on driving. And it probably would've been shorter except for the get-out-and-stretch stops.

Aaaannnnnnddddd now I've got it. Sniffy, stuffy, coughy. Just waiting to see if the fever shows up too. Staying home from church. Had already asked to not be sent out to record anything Mon-Wed of this week, thinking I'd still be needed to help with Ethan (who is still fighting a fever).

Oh well. I think while hubby's gone to church I'll work on his V-Day card.

In the meantime, I put some new stuff in my gallery last night. All from Ethan's bday party last October. Sorry there are so many:

Hey girls! Sorry I have been MIA!

We decided last minute to take a weekend vacation. Left on Friday and came back today. We went to Michigan to take the boys skiing for the first time! This was P's first time too and he learned how to snowboard. Absolutely loved it! All four of the boys did amazing!!! I was sooo proud.

Now we are home and laundry is started, floors are swept, unpacking is done and having some family over in 25 minutes to celebrate P's 13th birthday with cake and ice cream! (His birthday was Friday . . . one of our reasons for going this weekend). He told us last night that he thinks it was his best birthday ever! We couldn't get him off the slopes to head back to the hotel!!!

Still feeling icky.

Not a head cold and not coughing much but when I do - owie, my throat hurts and it is a productive cough. I tried to talk (to myself) and my voice is all over the place.

I did take a 2 hr nap this afternoon - my chills had come back and my head hurt. Now I am feeling not too bad.

I have a big pan of veggies in the oven roasting - peppers, onions, asparagus, zucchini, eggplant, onions and mushrooms. Will add these to a lasagna and a barley pilaf dish for the week.

Thx Ria! Just super frustrated with this place right now. On top of that, my boss retires in a month and who knows who will be taking over that position. I have a feeling there is going to be some change . . . and not for the better.

Welcome. Theres more where that came from.

BTW I thought of you while I was gone...and learned a new coffee drink...if you like coffee...make a cup of coffee extra hot, boiling. Add cream and sugar, but just enough to cut the bitterness of the coffee a bit. Then add a RPBC and let it melt. Yummy!!! Although the peanut butter doesn't melt well, it's still sooo good!

FYI to everyone. While I was away, my Yahoo ID has been deleted. When you don't sign in in three months, Yahoo deletes your account. So I now have a new ID: ScrappyGirl73. I can be IMed here now. I don't remember anyone's IDs, so if I don't recognize you, remind me.

Well my cold is progressing. Stayed home and slept. Had a mild fever again today but my throat is not nearly as sore as it was this morning.

Now I am a little stuffed and have to constantly blow my nose.

Today it was rather mild (above freezing) and the snow was melting like crazy. It snowed/rained. Tonight the temp will drop to -2F so everything will be sheer ice!

okay, I have cleaned up my scrap cubby a little.
I have cleaned up my table some. I cleaned a small corner of my desk.
I folded, hung, and put away a load of laundry.

My room is by no stretch of the imagination clean, but it is improved.

I'm full-blown sick. (I wish someone would just split my skull and let this alien out.)

Kim is full-blown sick.

Ethan is doing better. Jim has spent the evening at Kim's, playing with Ethan and trying to keep him away from a sick mommy. Kim sent me text pictures awhile ago of Ethan crashed on the couch and Jim asleep in the chair.

It's times like this that my heart pretty much wants to explode because I love my man so much, with the way he takes care of his family.

Anyhow...bad headache means computering isn't fun, so I'm gonna be scarce until that part, at least, feels better.

Love you all.

Well this cold is coming to me in waves. I felt fine earlier but I think the ibuprofen wore off.

My nose is going to run and/or block tonight so I won't sleep well.

I tried to stay up so that I don't get up at midnight. I really have to go in to work tomorrow - but if after a few hours I feel worse, I'll come home.

My throat is sore again - it was fine earlier

Got up and will drink a mug of warm milk. Hope it helps me fall asleep.

Abby and I went this morning to pay for her background check and half of her deposit on her apartment. It will be nice for her once we get furniture for it. I am buying her a new double bed as years ago (I think she was in 6th grade) she asked for a new mattress set for her Christmas present, I bought her a Serta set. Well that set got left at my brother's house when we moved out and is now the bed my nephew sleeps on. I won't be buying her a new headboard, but would like to find one used that matches her chest of drawers. She has a nice oak dresser that matches my bedroom set (it was her dad's).

Jane I understand the not being able to swallow or clear the throat. I'm feeling a lot better but laying down to sleep makes it worse. I wish I had a recliner. Using saline nasal spray has been very helpful for me. Get better quick.

I've been dodging the cold left and right. Hope all you gals are feeling better soon, as well as your families. I'm trying to pull myself away from the computer screen so I can do some actual scrapping...

question of the day... do you find it hard to get started scrapping and away from your computer if you've been at your computer creating....?

Melanie - I've never done a DT before so I'm not sure what advice to give. I do think you make good use of paper in your layouts though. Maybe they will see that and think that you will display their paper to their advantage?
Kimberly - I always find it hard to go from doing something on the computer to doing something else. Computers are distracting for me. That's why I haven't been on here on weekends lately, I gotta stay away from the computer so I can get my class work and things done lol.

Happy Birthday Jenni!!!!

Kimberly-I agree with Desi, computers are always distracting to me as well. If I know I have something to do (scrap, laundry, etc) I don't even turn my computer on. But I don't always follow this rule and that's why some days I get nothing done!!!

So while I was at Swirlydoos.com site, I saw several flower tutorals that I adored. So what did I do?? I went to evil bay and overstock.com and bought the punches needed to do the flowers. Then while I was at evil bay realized that I had a 10% off coupon that was expiring in a few hours. So I decided to order the Straight from the Nest cricut cart. Only after I hit the buy now button did I realize that the coupon was for jewlery!!! Oh well.....I got free shipping. SO my cart came in today!!!!!!!! YAY!!! Still waiting for my punches though. I love scrappy goodness coming in the mail!!!! My hubby said that maybe when we pay off the cars I can order the monthly kit from swirlydoos!!! I LOVE their kits.
Anyway, I've been on the phone this morning trying to get Grace into either a mothers morning out program or a 2K program for next year. She has this attachement issue thing going on and that needs to stop before real school time comes. So she is on a waiting list.

Haven't done any scrapping But.....great news, I have a page layout in mind for a gift because my oldest nephew got baptized this past Sunday!!!!!! I'm so stinking proud of him!!! I'm going to do a layout of him being bapatized then frame it in the 12x12 frame to hang in his room.

Okay enough of me talking. I have to go get ready to go have lunch with the hubster. We didn't do anything for vday (we normally don't) but we did grill steaks and cook baked potatoes on Saturday night. Then Sunday after the kids went to bed we watched a movie. I got him a card from me and a card from the kids. Monday night I had bible study to go to so he kept the kids for me. I've told him that if he doesn't act lovey dovey with cards, chocolates and flowers during the year (surprise me with them occasionally) then I didn't want him doing it on vday b/c he felt forced to. I want you to do it b/c you want to and you want to surprise me, not b/c some day on the calender makes you feel like you HAVE to do it. So therefore we enjoy a quiet evening in, steaks on grill, no flowers, no chocolates, no mushy gushy cr*p. LOL
Anyway, I'll stop ranting now. LOL

Hugs to those who need them and a healing hand to all who is sick! Thank goodness we got over the sickness here finally. Sending healing prayers over to you all!!!

My funny valentine...what a cute name! So what did everyone do or get for vday? I got dozen roses and candy. We skipped the crowds and went out for lunch at Olive Garden. Now if I can just keep my naughty whisker from eating the roses all will be good.

Hi ladies!

It's a beautiful day outside! I wish I could be out there enjoying it instead of here at work!

Liz - we had our Valentine's Day dinner in on Saturday night. We ordered from a nice restaurant and then went to pick it up. He gave me flowers and a box of wild cherry pepsi on valentines day. I gave him a handmade card.

Morning!!

I'm keeping Dani home from school one more day. She's doing much better, but I think one more day of rest is needed.

Hi girls! I'm eating lunch too...quesadilla. Eating my "Messican" food 'cuz I'm "Messican," as Lizzie would say. I got called in to work yesterday...frappés and smoothies in the freezer for y'all...came home at 6:30, enough time to ditch my work hat, grab a bottle of water and my Bible and high-tail it to the church next door for Bible study. I'm so glad to be home!

If it's none of my business you can tell me but where were you? I keep seeing everyone say that your kitty missed you while you were gone and different things of that nature and I'm just confused. But like I said, tell me to butt out if it's none of my business.

Today we are in the mid 70's so a friend of mine met up with us at the park and let the kids play for a while. I'm just getting back and about to start supper. Tomorrow is suppose to be more of the same so Christian has another playdate set up for then to go back to the park. I'm enjoying the weather while I can!!!!!

I was going to do some scrapping last night but ended up nodding off at the computer before I was able to. So I decided sleep was more important! LOL

Christian got a coupon for a free kids meal at Chick-fil-a for showing respect at school!! I asked him what he did and he said he sat quietly on the rug when his teacher told him to. Oh and on the way home from the park he told me he was "dis-a-pony" (disappointed) b/c I wouldn't let him play the Wii. LOL It took all I had not to laugh at him over his "disapony" word. He is not allowed to play Wii during the week anymore. He was consumed with it so it was time to cut back. Okay well I think that is all that is going on here in my house. Hope you all had a great day!

Sneaking in under the wire here....

First of all, THANKS for all the happy birthdays yesterday. It was a fabulous day here in South Central Indiana - temps in the upper 60s and sunshine. Very rare for a February bday.

Kim took me to Olive Garden for lunch. The manager that was working knows her/us and tends to treat us well - he comped the whole meal. (So we turned around and went out today, too, to our regular Pizza Hut - and the server didn't charge us for drinks!! How many kids get to take their mom out for birthday lunch TWICE for a grand total of $15 - including tip???)

HOWEVER...that bit of frolicking has taken a toll. Otherwise, I've been flat on the couch, running a temp in the low 100's. (I dosed up on Motrin to be able to get out.) Things really took a "get serious" turn late yesterday when the crud I was coughing up started being a little bloody.

So today I called the dr, who ordered a Z-pak for me. So hopefully I'll really be on the mend by this weekend.

Kim's still fighting it. It's to the point where she's coughing so hard she's about to trigger hre gag reflex and start puking, and she says there's a sharp pain in her lungs. (I just hope she hasn't strained a ligament or something.) *sigh*

On a good note, Ethan seems to be genuinely better, and (so far) Jim seems to have escaped it - which is good, since he's had to hold the rest of the family together.

And that's pretty much been the only story around here this week.

Take care of yourself Jenni.

I have had a cold since last Friday, working through it since I am the boss this week and it turned into an ear infection. I did get some antibiotics today.

I was in jail. I served 90 days for something I didn't do. Basically, Lizzie threw a fit, police were called, and I was accused of beating her, which I didn't do. The cop was a real . I was officially charged with assaulting an officer, which I didn't do. Shoot, if I had known I would have been charged with it I would have hauled off and slugged the officer, he definitely had it coming.

He also tried to charge me with resisting arrest because I wanted to be handcuffed in the front rather than in the back. I said, "look, I've got short arms. You HAVE to cuff me in the front." He refused, and cuffed me in the back to be a . But I'm home now.

Diet Coke isn't any cheaper. One of the perks of my job is all the I can drink, and depending on the manager, a 32-oz. to take home. I closed tonight so it's a cherry Diet Coke. We now make our shakes topped with whipped cream and a cherry. At close I dump the remaining cherries, usually only a few, in a cup and fill it with

I actually told the manager yesterday, "no one has checked the quality of the Diet Coke in three months...here, let me check it for you..."

Morning everyone!

Hey Ria & Joy! I'm SO glad its Friday!! Its been a busy morning and I'm fixing to go run some errands for work. It's really nice here today...already almost 60*! Now, if the sprinkles of rain would go away and the sun would come out, it would be perfect!
