Just thought I would get this thread started.... taking a brief moment whilst on vacation in Idaho to get this thread about December Dailies and the like going.... This is my second attempt, last year was my first attempt and a bit, well, off... but I'm my own worst critic. Feel free to share pictures of your Dec daily set ups and also share products and techniques you have used.
I started a Dec Daily thread this month also, but I don't have any intention to carry it on after this month, so I have included a link to your thread in mine so that people have a place to go once mine is finished.
I plan on being here next month Kimberly.
Doreena has been getting me inspired to work on a small (for me) format while still being a size that will get lost in my stash.
I just don't do small books....
With that being said, plan on suing products that I have on hand, well except for some paper, to make pocket pages and full pages for an 8.5x11 album/folder or whatever I decide to use as a front and back cover.
Are there any specific "rules" for the December Daily that I need to be aware of?
I have pre made a few pages this month in anticipation of a busy December ( I will have all I can do to remember to take Photos/notes daily) that I plan to share here as they are completed with pictures and journaling.
Sharon, no rules... nope. I find that if you put rules out it excludes those who may have not done a December Daily before. This is my third go through, and I'm pretty excited as I am putting together two this year. One in an Echo Park 6x8 and the other being my Webster's Pages traveler's notebook.
I started this now so that those who have ideas on paper and the like can post and order and get it in time to start on December 1st.
Have fun! If it's stressing you out then you're doing it wrong.
I'm going to do this... I've wanted to in years past but just not jumped in.....
I will be incorporating the Dec. Daily into my regular album...
Looking forward to seeing what you all do, share.
I'll be joining in too.
I just did another page for my December Daily 2017, but can't share until Monday, and I have a couple of PL pages almost finished that include my "December Daily" for 2018.
Prepping pages for December, don't know what day of the month they will be for but a goodly start.
I have a 5 day crop this week and plan on taking my Christmas stuff.....I might even have a change of completing the album in December.
I kind of like the smaller 8.5x11 format...
Doreena, I have hardly ever scrapped that way before and the pages I have done with no pictures are still sitting around with no pictures.
My plan is to think about subjects/photos that will fit the theme of the page then journal what I am thinking at the moment.
We shall see how well that works!!!
You are making strides with you 2017 pages.
Always trying new things to keep myself motivated!!

I’m not doing December Daily like it’s intended. I take Shimelle’s Journal Your Christmas class. This will be my fourth year. I’m thinking about mixing some of her prompts with some of our general daily holiday activities. My daughter is 10 and so we’re starting to do some different things. I’m going to enjoy documenting it this year. I just bought a 6x8 album here. I can’t wait to get started!!
This will be my first year for a December Daily album. I'm going with an 8x8 size. Here is my title page:

However, even she has said do it whatever way I works for you.
I do a December-Not-So-Daily because I don't take photos every day in December.
And it can be any size any design, any style... whatever you want it to be, whatever works for you!
The pages I've been sharing is my finishing up last year's album.
Last Years album was a 6x9 binder I bought from Target.
This year I am including mine in my 12x2 PL Album.
Some people do Travelers Notebooks...again, do it however you would like to.
The "December Daily" is just an idea created by Ali Edwards and even she has changed her process over the years.

Got my 1st day photos to put on my page. Once I get to my crop I will be "fleshing" out the page and getting photo to post.
My December daily is going to be an 8.5x11 daily album for the whole month of December!
This process is giving me a smaller canvas than I normally work with plus lots of "Christmas" photos to make a 12x12 album to use some of those hoarded Christmas papers that I am always purchasing!!!
I cannot seem to add photos to this thread. I can put the code in any other thread, but not this one. All that comes up is the code. I don't even get the boxes to add links. So if you want to see my photos you'll have to go to my gallery because I just can't put them here.....

I'm not having any problems...
Here's one of yours:
To link LO's:
1. Go to the layout in your gallery.
2. Click on the 'link/embed' words.
3. Click on 'IMG code' button.
4. Copy and paste the code which starts [url...] into the forum thread.

Hi Doreena! I unfortunately don't have a "quote" button on this forum either. Something broke for me but it's only here and I don't know why. I guess I'll have to email the minions to see if they can figure it out.
If you look at my post from the 1st, you'll see that I can copy the image code, but it never generates to a photo, just the random geek speak on the page.

Thanks for trying though!

Awww...Bummer!
If you want I can add your photos here until it's fixed...
I frequently do it for Amie...
Oh wait, she's not on this thread!
I do it for another SB.com member.
Just holler when you need my services ::takes a bow:: LOL

This is why I call my Project "December (Not-So) Daily"...
because I don't take photo every day and some days I take more than 1.
This is another photo I took on 12/15/17 -
Coincidentally it is also of Hamlet.
Me too! I've caught up to the 10th but I have 4 more pages (including today) to hopefully get done before Sunday night. In addition to baking, sending cards and starting to wrap gifts...But I'm still glad to be doing it. December Daily page 9 By Pennguins
I actually forgot to print a photo (and so far I've been picking them up at a pharmacy in batches of 2-3) so it put me a little behind. But I am now caught up to last night! (And I have the next 2 days pre-made just waiting on photos). December Daily page 18 By Pennguins
Just found this thread!
Love what everyone is doing with their December daily.
I am officially behind with mine.
And I don’t have photos for some days, rather than give up, Im just calling it My December book.
I really want to document this Christmas because I’ve been fighting cancer for the last 9 months. I just finished my treatment.
Next 3 days are done! I couldn't just pick one photo for the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day pages, so I used peekaboo pockets to add a couple more. I'm just going to post the main photo page here though.
I too am behind on my book with no photos for a lot of the days, journaling done for several days of no photos, pictures coming for the few remaining pre-made pages, 100 pictures of Christmas day that will go in a big album.
I tired printing a few at a time at the drug store but it was costing me way too much!!!
I know, it was NOT that much but it was quadruple the price of waiting on the photos.
I am just excited about having pictures this year ( printed 10 from last year) that I will work on my books and get them finished.
You have done a great job with keeping up Pennquin...
Thanks Sharon! I am not noticing the cost since I pick up just 2-3 at a time and it's about a dollar or less. I know that I'm paying triple what I normally would for waiting but I really wanted this one to come together quickly and I think it's keeping me motivated that the photos are ready and in my hands. Of course it also makes me want to get one of those Selphy Canon printers!
My thought for next year's album is that since so many of my photos were of food (including yesterday and today) that next year might just be INTENTIONALLY all about the food we eat in December. What do you all think?
