Ok Paper Sisters……wait no more…..here is your first official Paper Sister Circle Project……Drum roll please!!!..........

Accordion Albums

Not to worry if you have never made one ( I haven’t!!!) It's basically 3- 8 1/2 in. pieces of cardstock or patterned paper. Folded as was shown in the video then glued together. The inside is 4 3 1/2 in pieces as like photo mats or such. The inside can be done anyway you like!!!

There are 3 links posted 2 are actual videos and one is step by step written directions. Please use the paper sizes above as your basic guidelines.

Lol! Oh no Bon! I didn't mean it like that! I have just been used to all the chatter in the PM and was wondering if everyone had formed ANOTHER group somewhere else and not invited me! LMAO!!! = ) Hahahahah!

Sorry you weren't feeling so well today....I myself have got the start of a migraine, so I am feeling nauseous too! And I am bummed because I know I won't be able to do any scrapping by the weekend and I have so much I want to do!

Hope everyone else is feeling well! I will keep my eyes peeled for the first swap....Yay! = )

If I do go quiet though, it is only because I will likely be in a darkened room praying for a quick death! Lol!

Hugs to all,

Jen xoxoxo

Hi everyone... Hope we have our first swap posted soon!!!

I need to make a mini recipe book for my daughter in law on canning. I am going to use my Your Story for the book binding and a hard cover book. I plan on making different sizes and shapes on the pages. (I saw that somewhere and it looked so cool)
For Christmas she wants canning stuff. I bought her a dozen canning jars and a a caner for the water baths.

Is anyone else making crafty items for Christmas gifts?

I am making 10......yes, you heard right TEN Alice in Wonderland Mini's like the one in my gallery at the moment. I am making all the covers different and have asked all family members for pics so I can tailor the inside photo's for each person I am giving them to. Every single year we end up giving each other stuff we don't need or want just because it is Christmas and we feel we have to buy stuff for people, but this year it is homemade all the way! Lol! Sick of all the commercialism! Different for the kids, but all the adults get mini's this year! I have told everyone handmade only, so it is up to them if they buy stuff or not, but they are getting homemade from me. I am making jams, preserves and soaps to go in with the mini's, maybe some cookies and a mini gingerbread house, but that's it! = ) Even if I specifically asked for Scrapbooking stuff, I know I would get the wrong stuff! Like my sis last year asked for scrapping stuff and got a heap of cheap and crappy embellies that had been discounted for a reason which she couldn't use! I think each adult should just buy for one other adult and have a $100 budget. We did it one year but nobody stuck to it. We each put a list of ten things we would like with costs next to them and where you can get them and our name, then folded them and put them in a hat and each person drew someone to give to. It was great! I just wish people could stick to it instead of still buying for everyone else, but I guess I am just as bad! Lol! I mean it IS hard just getting a present for your brother in law and nothing for your sisters or Mother! Lol! What about you Debby? Are you making other stuff for Christmas? The canning book sounds amazing! Would love to see pics when you are finished! = )

Hugs,
Jen

BTW Debby....send me your email addy. I have something for you for your canning book that you will love! It was a free file so I can share it. It is perfect for what you are doing! = )

Morning Ladies
Jen I LOVE your idea about homeade Christmas I am sooooo tired of all the stress and nonsense that goes with the Holidays....its supposed to be about family not about gifts and price tags!!! this year all of us (my kids and their significant others all drew names) and I made the homeade rule......some of them said mom we aren't crafty like you so what are we supposed to do?? I said use your brain!! you can make a donation...a batch of cookies....a promise for a lunch date or just a promise to spend some time together.....frame a picture.....be creative!!!!

I have sooooo many Christmas projects going I am afraid if I list them all I will have a painic attack!! everyone gets a hand made ornament, quilt for oldest son, rocking horse for new grand baby, canvas tote bags......I have to stop I am getting sweaty!!!!!

Project should be posted by this evening and it looks like its going to be so much fun.....something new for me but I am ready!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Thanx Deb

Cossandra I feel you on the whole buying gifts thing . A couple of years ago my sister in law and I decided that Xmas would just be for the kids . The adult usually ended up with gift cards or pajamas , so we decided let's cut the hassle and keep it strictly for the kids . I was nervous to tell her my idea , I didn't want her to think that I didn't like her gifts or anything , but to my surprise she felt the same way and it's been great ever since . This year we decided to do a fun twist and get a gag gift for each other that we have to display in our house . Something fun .

HI EVERYONE

I made it here & added this to my favs. I'm going to subscribe to it too since my work connection doesn't seem to want to play nice right now. They are scrambling to get into compliance with some regulation that a lot of things have been turned off- such as I can't get the drop down for favorites I hope they smooth things out soon. I like to spend my breaks & lunch getting on here while others go smoke and such. It's therapy for sure.

This weekend is SCRAP WEEKEND at my house. WOOHOO

I think I have finally caught up!!!

No dark room planning no ones demise Jen...you hear me? You do have a tall order on your hands but if anyone can do it, you can!!! I am heading over to your gallery to take a look after I finish this.

I think the handmade gifts are where it's at for Christmas!!! Everyone always spends to much money and has nothing to show for it later!!! I always make cards every year. I bake fudge, cookies and of course I make peanut brittle because it reminds me of my Gran. I also always make blankets, pillows, little scrapbooks, etc. for my Grandbabies.

I have tons of Christmas Cards to send this year, as the Lord has richly blessed my life with all of you wonderful ladies.

I am so excited for this group! Ever since I joined SB.com and started to swap this has been a dream of mine. To have a group of super talented ladies together in one group. I just know we are going to have the best times, and we are going to receive the most wonderful treasures.

Thank you all for helping to make a dream of mine come true!!!!

I'M GOING TO STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER NOW AND DO MY....

HAPPPPPPPYYYYYY DANCEEEEEEEEE

WELCOME EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!!!

Lol! I totally get what you mean about fulfilling a dream Bon! Me too! I am so excited by this group!

Char! No laughing! Hahahah! Not a good look if you are at work eating yoghurt at your desk, then read something funny and snort yoghurt all over your screen! (It happened to me, honest! Lol!) Then you have to pretend you were joking or something when everyone is trying to figure out the weird gurgling and snorting sounds! LMAO!

And Bon, Lol! I wasn't planning my demise on account of all I have to do! (Although that is reason enough! Trust me! Lol!) But because migraines make me feel that way! Lol! Anyone who gets them, knows exactly what I mean! You can't even cry cause it makes it so much worse! I am still brewing one and am starting to squint at the screen now as it gets worse! Will have to go medicate soon I think! = /
I had earmarked today as scrappy time! >= (, hate it when my body has different plans to what my mind does!

Have a great day all!

Hugs,

Jen = )

so I posted the first project hope everyone is happy with it.....I have never made them before but Debby and Bon both insist they are easy and fun to make....if they're not I WILL be at your house Dbby using the machine!!!!

I probably won't check in again today....making stew and homeade bread as I type....mmmmm.....it already smells so good then heading to spend this special Veterans day with my grandfather, my dad, brothers, sons and wonderful hubby. (4 generations of Service members) We are sighting in our guns for hunting and then spending the rest of the day telling lies about whose going to shoot the biggest deer!!!

Remember to thank a Veteran today and say a prayer for the families who keep things held together while our brave Service Members are doing thier jobs....they all sacrifice so much!!!
Thanks Char to you and your family!!! HUGS!!!!

Jen you are so funny. I too suffer from Migraines. I found Maxalt tho & take one when I feel it coming on & it usually heads it off at the pass. It has taken awhile to figure that out. Then there are times I have to take a second dose- but if that is the case- the migraine isn't overwhelming, but isn't gone either. I think I have one of those today (sigh). I started hormone therapy last month- got my 2nd implant today. Hopefully with my hormones in better balance, my migraines will get less. I hope. I started out with like zero on my hormones (full hysterectomy) and it's going to take some time. I am hoping tho.

Today & tomorrow we are scrapping at my house. I am working on several things- hope to make some definite progress.

Have a great day everyone.

I get migraine headaches without the pain... I get the spots in front of my eyes so bad it makes me go blind. When I start to see spots, I take a pill and it makes me pass out. That happened one time when I was driving. I did a lot of praying that day to make it home safe...

I'm working on my first accordian album!!!

Awful aren't they Char? I have never heard of Maxalt .... will ask, but it may be a US thing = ( I use Anagraine and if I get it early enough it usually helps. Although if I use it too often I develop a resistance to it and it becomes less effective, so it is a balancing act! Sometimes though....nothing will stop them!
have a great day scrapping! Sounds like fun! And I really hope the HRT does help regulate it all out for you and stop the awful Migraines!

Hugs,

Jen = )

Flipetty, Zippety, Dippety, Doo! I now have a folding accordion too! = )

These are FUN to make! Lol! And quick once you know how! Awesome! I even found an easier way than hers! Forget the measuring and scoring, just fold diagonally, then flip to the other side and fold in half, open and in half the other way again! Done !..... next!.........

Seriously......have all nine of mine done now....(10 actually .... one for me! = ) ) All I have to do is decorate them! Awesome! Now for the REAL fun! = )

WE HAVE A GENIUS IN THE GROUP!!!!!!!!

Jen...They are SUPER easy to fold and put together once you get the general idea aren't they?? I knew you would get it!!! I have no doubt that everyone in this group will find their own way to fold!!! (I see no point in scoring either) I'm glad that you made it look so easy now no one will be intimidated by the folding!!!!

Imagine that that is the same lady doing the baby themed one as the more elaborate one!!! It is AMAZING she is so talented isn't she??? I might still a couple of her ideas that she did inside the album to make more room for stuff.

It's easy to fold once you get the idea...the crafty part is the decorating, and also the theme!

I want each of mine to be different!!!

...oh by the way...I really did think you finished them the first post you sent...YOU LITTLE STINKER!!! I about had a heart attack!!!NO MORE JOKING THE JOKER

I'm working on my first accordian album!!!

Debby thank you so much for sharing that!!! I was going to say that I have never had a migraine...but now that you've explained it in that way...I HAVE.

Look what we can learn from each other.

WE HAVE ACCORDION ALBUM FEVERRRRRRRRRRR

Bon I am so glad you said that about going to the front because I missed Cassondra's post somehow (I'm still trying to figure that one out). These look amazing & like so much fun. I'm now planning on taking supplies with me to Colorado when we go for Thanksgiving week to my in-laws house. I should have some time to work on them- space may be a challenge tho- but what amazing options. So many ideas going thru my head. Wow. I want to start on them now!!!! But I have some other obligations to finish first- like M/M/Ms that I haven't started. Oh my. So off I go.

Thanks Cassondra- we are all proud to serve.

Thank you everyone. It is heartening to have support. Some people can be so ugly. So when someone walks up to us and says thanks and shakes our hands- it reminds me of why I wear a uniform every day.

I made a prototype because I just couldn't wait. SUPER EASY! Now to do some simple decorating and then put a packet together to take with me to Colorado. Fun. Fun. Fun.

We are now going to work on our Christmas cards- I got the Christmas Mannheim Steamroller playing for atmosphere. Nothing like sugar plum fairies to get you in the mood....

Lol! Gotta get up early in the morning to beat the Queen of MMM's! What yours not done yet and in the mail already Deb?! Horror! Lol!

No....I am not rushing these either! I just got excited and made up all the mini accordion books, but now the real labour of love starts.....the embellishing! Anyone can make the little book, but making it look awesome is a whole different kettle of fish!

OK ladies.....some of you know I have been asked to be in a DT here in Aus......exciting right?! As part of this, I need to have a blog up and running....which I have now done (didn't have one before! = /) It looks really bad having no followers, so if you ladies would not mind terribly popping in for a visit and maybe even joining I would really appreciate it! Soon I will be putting a RAK up on there to increase my traffic. I will be picking a random name out of the first 100 people to join and sending a really awesome RAK out!

Here is my new blog.....I am new to this so I would really welcome any hints, tips or suggestions! REALLY! = )

http://scrapindesign.blogspot.com

Not too sure what everyone will think of the background I have chosen, but I like it........please let me know what you think!

Hi Jen...

Just getting ready to wrap up my homework for the night and go take a hot bath. I thought I'd check in here one more time before I gave my laptop and little nap. I saw that you needed followers...I wouldn't consider myself a follower at anything in life...but if you're headed in a positive direction I certainly have your back. So I am now following YOU!!!! I am going to go back and bookmark your blog...just wanted you to know in case I forget

Hi Deb...

The decorating the inside of the albums can be done so many different ways too. Different tags, pockets, folds, journal spots and so much more that can be done with them. I think it is going to be a blast!!!

Hi Sisters...

As I think about beginning the Accordion Albums for each of you...I need your help!!

I'm putting my own little twist on these. You all are ladies that I have come to know and admire, hence the reason for the Paper Sisters Circle. So I wanted each Accordion Album to be special.

This is what I want each of you to do if you will...

Tell me...

What are your favorite colors??
Favorite Flower?
Favorite Food?
Favorite Music?
What is something you can live without???
If I had to write about you, what would you want someone to know about you??

Fore example....I know that Henva oozes glitter and sparkle from her veins. She is every bit a glitz and glamour girl. But I don't know her favorite color or most of the other things about her.

This is my way of getting to know you all a little better.

I hope to hear from each of you so that I can make your book fit you perfectly.

Happy Scrapping Paper Sisters

OK Bon, here are my answers...

What are your favorite colors??Earth Tones, Yellow, Greens

Favorite Flower? Sunflower

Favorite Food? Tacos

Favorite Music? ACDC (Rock)

If I had to write about you, what would you want someone to know about you?? My Family is number One!!! I am a Animal Lover!!! Dogs are my favorite... I also would live off of Camping and Fishing if I could get away with it!!!

I better fix this...

I can live without my TV...

I can't live without my computer...

WOW! A professional student! = ) And a DOCTOR at that! cool! I too never tire of learning new things.....the burden of being creative I think, since most creative types I meet are like that. But I don't even have one degree = (
I WAS studying a Bachelor in Design majoring in Visual Communication (So I could become a Special Effects CGI person), I LOVED it so much! Was getting all HD's mainly and thoroughly enjoying it, but then circumstances made it so I couldn't continue.....that's life! It was a series of disasters really and I just figured it wasn't meant to be.
Now I am looking at an online course that I am starting in the new year. It specialises in Digital Design designed with the sole purpose in mind of making your own papers, elements and digital scrapbooking ephemera to sell. I can't wait! = )

And thank you for following me. I did get the pun, but wasn't sure still so better safe than sorry! Lol! = ) I truly appreciate your support as this is important for my new DT role, and I am hoping this will in time lead to a paid position as their digital designer!

I LOVE your idea Bon of tailoring each mini! So.......I thought I may do something similar if you don't mind too much! Please let me know if you do! The details are being posted beneath this message!

So, since Bon is a super genius and I LOVE her idea, I thought I would do something similar. I would like to know the following from each of you ladies.....

What is your favourite STYLE
(ie. Shabby, Retro, Romantic, Grungy, Modern, Cartoony etc.)

What is your favourite THEME
(ie. Christmas, Friendship, Easter, Birthday, Baby, Every Day etc.)

What is your favourite TECHNIQUE
(ie. Paper tearing, Embossing, Paper Piecing, Assorted, Stamping, Painting, 3D etc)

Thanks ladies! I look forward to seeing the answers!

Hugs,

Jen

O.K. Bon, my answers are:

What are your favorite colors? Black and Autumn colours like Burgundy Sage and Coffee.

Favorite Flower? Orchid

Favorite Food? How embarrassing......ummmm...any? Lol! I think I would have to pick shellfish.....lobster, prawns, etc.

Favorite Music? Wow......Easy listening, classical, pop, jazz, anything BUT Heavy metal. = )

What is something you can live without??? CAN live without? Or CAN'T? Cause I see answers for both above. I CAN live without anything EXCEPT for my family. A less dramatic answer would be a stove.....Lol! Lived without one for 7 - 8 years! Cooked wverything in the oven, microwave and a jumbo elecrtric wok! Hahahahaahh! Even catered several times for up to 600 people without one! And I used to be a chef......Lol!

I CAN'T live without my family (and by family I mean to include my fur and feather babies). Although hobbies and crafts come a close second. f you are looking for an answer a little less dramatic, then I would have to say the internet and hobby stuff.

If I had to write about you, what would you want someone to know about you??
I am passionate about my family and what I do. I love to be creative and I love all manner of hobbies. I get bored very easily but inspired just as easily, I have a passion for food and cultures of all kinds. I am a good friend but a terrible enemy. I would fight to the death and lay down my life in a second, without hesitation, for a loved one. I am seriously forgetful but generous to a fault.

Hugs,

Jen = )

HOLY COW this took a little time to "catch up" on! LOL

First, I must say WoW this is going to be a challenge but how cool! Looking forward to trying the first project!

I too like the personalization idea! Here are my answers:

What are your favorite colors?? Purple and Green - together!!!
Favorite Flower? Not sure, I like paper flowers of almost any kind!
Favorite Food? PIZZA
Favorite Music? Pop - dancey, but I am not a huge music person, usually just while driving!
What is something you can live without???
If I had to write about you, what would you want someone to know about you?? I am unique, one-of-a-kind and a loyal friend! OH and I am a HUGE Volleyball FREAK!

What is your favourite STYLE
(ie. Shabby, Retro, Romantic, Grungy, Modern, Cartoony etc.) I have a very eclectic. I love shabby chic (done by others I find it difficult to create shabby chic I am happy with, I also love bright bold (not neon) colors which could be cartoony and I love love love grungy, retro and vintage stuff too!

What is your favourite THEME
(ie. Christmas, Friendship, Easter, Birthday, Baby, Every Day etc.) I'd say time, like the use of clocks - I like that and I like friendship and every day stuff too!

What is your favourite TECHNIQUE
(ie. Paper tearing, Embossing, Paper Piecing, Assorted, Stamping, Painting, 3D etc) To do...shaker boxes!!!! I also love paper piecing too and inking, like distress edges and such.

Hope that's helpful I will not be able to start right away though - I too have to complete a couple obligations with fast approaching due dates! But will keep these in the back of my mind! I guess I will try and check in more often too! Don't want to fall behind!!

OH and great Blog Jen, I am not following you!!! I commented in your gallery but again I LOOOOOVE your alice in wonderland mini!!! You are so talented you amaze me!!!

Jen...

Of course I DON'T mind!!! I wanted for this group to be original and wanted to get to know my Sisters better. Little things like this help us know each other better, while at the same time making a treasure that each of us can cherish.

I am super proud of you!!! Never let go of your dreams no matter how long it takes to achieve them. I would love to support you in any way that I can.

Your blog will be brilliant and I have no doubt that you will get the position you are seeking. Just always remain positive and show as much as enthusiasm as you do here.

I already forget your questions...I hope you don't mind that I post them separately?!?!

((GINORMOUS HUG))

Bon

Hugs,

Jen

Hi Jen...

I had to do it in this way...because I couldn't for the life of me remember the questions.

I looked up all the styles online in the images...so I will take my best guess that I am:

Style: Western Grungy...I am a true cowgirl at heart. From the hat down to the cowgirl boots.

Theme: Western (Southwestern)

Technique: I like layers, I like inking, and distressing to make something look original or weathered..in other words for it too look like it would look if it was loved, used often or something like it would look in real life.

I'm going to go ahead and answer my questions too so that you will know a little bit about me.

Favorite Color: I like the Indian Summer Colors or as some say Autumn colors(Burgundy, Hunter Green, Midnight Blue, Sunflower Yellow, Burnt Orange, Deep Purple.

Favorite Flower: Sunflower

Favorite Food: I know silly question huh?? I thought "Gee Bon, that was so not scrappy related but hey oh well, we may have a potluck one day lol
I like: Mexican Food of all kinds

Favorite Music: Country (Of course Hehe) It is truly something I can't live without. I have it on even in the background as I sleep. I love every type except Heavy Metal (bang your head type)

Something I can't live without: I already answered that...MUSIC!! But I also love my family and my laptop and of course my cricut lol

If I had to describe myself to others I would first say I am a Cancer Conqueror, I love my family,I love my country, I am shoot from the hip straight forward person and I am honest to a fault. I also am very strong in my convictions and not easily swayed. And like you already know a born leader. I love making things beautiful, and being creative.

Ok...I feel winded after all of that...I better get...I have homework.

Tootles

I also wanted to share with all of you that I am in a wierd place right now so if I don't check in as much as I should please know I will when I can....I am so excited about this group I just am over whelmed right now by life......but I know Bon and Debby will pick up my slack....ty for that...you girls rock my face off!!!

I am a little intimidated by this project not gonna lie....maybe I just need to try one instead of worrying about it!!!

I swear Bon you read my mind I was already putting together a lists of favorites to send to everyone since its going to be a small group I figured it would be fun to know more about each other....You rock!!! and I love that you can read my mind!!

here are my answers:

Style: simple, grungy & girly

Theme: Hunting, Emotions, Holidays

Technique: I love torn paper and inking.... I like the stuff to look old and kinda grungy. I also LOVE embossed paper!! and layers....LOVE layers to give things dimension

Favorite Color: Earthy colors....brown, greens black......but I also LOVE pink!!!

Favorite Flower: Daisy

Favorite Food: I LOVE to eat so the answer to this would be anything I don't have to cook!! I love comfort foods like mac and cheese, mashes potatoes and gravy....stew on a cold day but I LOVE sweets....I don't think I have every met a pie, cake or cookie I didn't love!! Ohhhh and pizza!!

Favorite Music: I love all kinds of music....except rap....I don't really think thats music. Country, jazz and classic rock are my favs

Something I can't live without: My family, music and quiet time to myself to be crafty

If I had to describe myself to others I would say I love to enjoy every moment I am blessed with. I love to laugh, dance and sing at the top of my lungs (thats not pretty just so you know!) I love spending time with my family. LOVE my dog, cat and bird. Love to hunt, fish and drink beer with the boys but also love to dress up and be girly once in a while. I am an anxious person who worries about everyone and everyhting, I LOVE unconditionally and am sometimes way to loyal to those who don't deserve it. I love to get rowdy and let my hair down but need to have quiet creative time or my brain feels like it might blow up. I start every day on my knees and end it the same way thanking God for all the amazing blessings in my life and that I was given one more to enjoy them.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Bon i got goose pimples when I read your entry, I too am honest to fault, always get teased and I am staunch rule follower! Get so irritated when others don't follow rules...LOL I see you are a cancer conqueror just wondered what type. I had cervical cancer when I was younger and thankfully have stayed cancer free my entire adult life! Yeah! I am going through a bit of a breast scare now with them thinking they see a spot but I had a spot compression and ultrasound done last week and am waiting to hear back from the doctor! I am confident it will be fine though!

I am enjoying reading more about everyone and look forward to forming friendships that will last a lifetime! I also love the idea of a potluck in our future!!! I truly feel blessed to have been invited into your circle!!!

Wow- lots of information here. Great stuff- I've copy pasted it all to a Word file so I can print it and refer to it as I'm making these albums.

Okay- here is mine:
What are your favorite colors? Purple and earth tones like greens, browns, oranges, & others associated with fall as well as salmon. Purple is an accent- I love it, but too much is overwhelming- it is so much better as that bit of pop (as in a little bit here & there makes it more special)
Favorite Flower? Iris – all the different kinds & colors
Favorite Food? Chicken- especially southern fried, but I like it cooked many different ways. Then there is chocolate- I believe chocolate is a vegetable and a necessary part of a healthy diet
Favorite Music? Many types- rock, country, pop, smooth jazz, some classical, Manheim Steamroller for Christmas, & Native American
What is something you can live without? TV- If we had to cut back- I wouldn’t have a problem with TV going away (although I do enjoy NCIS, HGTV & DIY)
What is something you can’t live without? My computer & the internet- how did we exist before these things? But more seriously- things to be crafty with. If I lived in a hut in the woods, I would be crafty with whatever I found around me. I love making things & also making useful things- especially if they are attractive as well.
If I had to write about you, what would you want someone to know about you? God + Family + Country = my priorities. I am in the TN Army National Guard because I love to serve. I am a fierce & loyal friend, but don’t lie to me or try to manipulate me or I’m gone (I forgive, but I won’t stick around). I love to be creative & have a good imagination. I can be overpowering & opinionated but that doesn’t mean I am not loving, caring & accepting of others. Many think I’m overly serious, but really I’m not (it may appear that way, but it isn’t how I mean to appear). I love animals- especially cats (my DH says I speak cat & other animal languages). I have 4 tattoos- 3 cats & 1 set of cat paw prints- all 4 with purple in them.
What is your favorite STYLE? Eclectic – I prefer a mix- variety over matchy matchy.
What is your favorite THEME? I would have to say every day
What is your favorite TECHNIQUE? Again- eclectic, I love to learn & try new things – I haven’t found a one I would say was my favorite outside of maybe acrylic stamps which is why I became & still am a Close To My Heart consultant. But even with that- there are many techniques & affects to do with them.

Thanks so much Sisters for all the info so far! It is fascinating to learn about you all! Funny to see how different we are in some areas and how equal in others! How some of favour the same things, etc!

For my part here goes:

What is your favorite STYLE? I too like Eclectic. I change way too often to stick with one thing, so I enjoy all! But I also love Shabby Chic / Romantic, Elegant, Grungy....see what I mean? I LOVE it all! I personally think EVERY style looks amazing if done well.

What is your favorite THEME? I like anything themed but unusual, Alice in wonderland, Carnival / Circus theme, Vampire / Goth themed, Dark and Halloweeny like a lot of the Scraps of Darkness stuff! Vintage / Retro Theme, I love anything with old, fancy writing fonts or newsprint or old illustrations.....calligraphy, pens, nibs, I also love clocks and locks and keys! And I have a sudden love affair with tickets at the moment since I got my TH ticket strip die! Lol!

What is your favorite TECHNIQUE? Again, I am a love it all girl.....although my favourite would have to be distressed! I too love the look of well worn and used / loved items. I love inking, LOVE stamping but am never any good at it. I never know what stamp will overpower a certain area or blend in too much or what the best colour is to use for tat area, to emboss not to emboss.....then I do it and it's wrong and it's too late! I love reading and books and LOVE the look of aged books. Love distress embossing though and UTEE!

To do myself, I am a massive fan of digi elements that are printable. It is how I get range and variety into my work.

I wanted to share a couple of gallery items of work that I just love from other artists.

Hope you enjoyed my mini gallery walk! Just wanted to share what inspires me. Some of these Lo's Have the most amazing techniques!!! Others just seem to have a knack for combination and composition that completely eludes me!

Susie...

Since we are sharing a little about ourselves with each other and since you asked about the cancer I think it is time to share that part of my life with my Paper Sisters.

Please know though that in sharing this you all understand that I don't want any pity or sympathy this is why I don't normally say too much. That being said. I have been battling cancer for 10 years now. I was initially diagnosed with uterine cancer, which had spread to my liver. After a long and difficult treatment I was "Cancer FREE" it lasted almost 4 years. Then just about 4 years ago I was diagnosed with bone cancer and it has spread to my brain. I have given this my best FIGHT and was just told recently that I could no longer undergo treatment as it is too hard on my heart and of course my liver. So I LIVE...I LiveSTRONG!!! For however long God gives me here on earth.

That is why "EVERDAY" is a blessing! Why no matter what we do...we do it with all the love it our hearts.

That is the reason for this Circle. I wanted to scrap and swap with a group of ladies that I have grown to love and admire. Whether I had already met you here, swapped with you or just admired your work.

Because what I have found the most profound about reading about all of us is that we are more the same than we are different. I knew that I had found true Sisters here. Not only are we all talented creators but we all love the same things and honor our family and friends.

That is exactly what I was hoping to find.

Susie...I know that each time we visit the Dr. with a cancer scare that we are afraid beyond words. Just "BELIEVE" with all of your heart that you are well and it will be so.

You are brave and courageous for sharing your truth and you too my friend are a "CANCER CONQUEROR.

How long ago were you diagnosed???

I will be praying that all they find is a little calcium, or a cyst of benign nature. Or just that...a spot on the scan...lol.

I hope I haven't overwhelmed or bored anyone and I don't mean to be so long winded. It is just so important to share...that I probably already should have with all of you instead of just those that know me well.

I think you ROCK too!!! Yes, Ma'am...We have our ESPN on lol. Look at what you shared and what I shared and what we know about each other...and you wonder why I can read your mind??? We are so much alike.

I'd say the best way to describe you and I is:

"Somewhere Between Raising Hell And Amazing Grace"

What do you think?? By the way I wish I was hunting with you and the boys

Wow Bon! What amazing courage and strength you have! It makes me ashamed at how much I have that I take for granted too often!

Cancer runs in my family and I am truly scared of it! I cannot comprehend the courage you have and I admire the strength it must have taken to fight this for so long and still be fighting! I pray that a cure will be found for this terrible disease sooner rather than later and I pray for you my beautiful friend! That your days may be long and joyous on earth! And if not, that each day may be wonderful and filled with love and packed with ten years of living at a time!

I am grateful for people like you who share their experiences. Thank you so much for sharing, and you too Susie! It helps a little to see the courage others have and hope that I too will find it should I need to one day. Most of all I fear for my family, I could not bear to see a loved one suffer as I saw my grandmother suffer! But that was many years ago and medicine is far better than it was.

I wish for you what I wish for all my friends and family, that when the end eventually comes, it is swift and merciful and painless.

Believing in God, I know that death is not truly an ending, but a new beginning somewhere else, simply the end of this earthly experience. I have complete faith and understanding of this fact and incontrovertible, unshakeable, proof.

Live long my beautiful friend and find joy always!

Love,

Jen xoxoxox = )

WoW overwhelmed a little when I read that it went to your brain...I lost a sister to brain cancer and she was only 27!!! That made a lot come flooding back, but the good always follows the bad memories so thank you! Your story is so inspiring thank you so much for sharing!!! I feel this group is going to do wonders for us all!!!
I was first diagnosed with cervical in 1993 (I was 19), it came back 2 more times after that and the final surgery took half of my cervix, so when I had my son he was my 4th attempt, my cervix just couldn't hold a baby in. He was born 3 months premature at 1 lb 7 ozs he is my true miracle!!! After I had him I was scared to even return to the doctor and didn't for 10 years...I know bad right, but I have remained healthy and now this but I really am confident that it's nothing, they just wanted to scare me...and it worked I was totally bummed for a day but I bounced back quick and now I know it's going to be fine!!!
Bon you are true inspiration though, your strength and determination is truly admirable. I can't thank you enough for sharing!!!
Jen just get regular check ups and stay on top of anything especially since it's in the family. That's one thing I don't think families should share!

My problems seem so very small in comparison. Bon- I remember you mentioning that you still had cancer a few months back- but I could tell then that you take the bull by the horns & the bull is scared!!! You are an amazing woman- full of strength & a tremendous roll model for all of us. Thank you for being the wonderful & unique person you are and for sharing. Love is never something to hold back on & life is worth diving in and riding each and every minute.

Tomorrow I go to the doctor for my back- herniated disc L6-S1, pressing on the nerve root. So at least I know why my left leg goes numb. Now to know if this will end my Military career or not. With all they can do now, I'm thinking it will be a "not" & that I'll be back to being able to exercise and all that soon. Like I said- my problems all seem small in comparison.

to all my Paper Sisters- for I know each of us is having to handle more than we should. But I know God made us strong and we will come through.

Please be sure to let us know how your appointment goes!!!

Char...

No persons pain is more or less than anothers just different. Nerve pain is definitely horrible to live with. I hope that is issue does NOT take you out of your service to our country unless of course that is what you have decided to do. I know what it is like to NOT be able to exercise, as my son and I use to run cross country together. I loved lifting weight and running. When I became too anxious or overwhelmed with life I ran. I also played softball from the time I was a little girl until the bone cancer diagnosis. I miss it horribly. Thank God we have a creative side that lets us escape into something wonderful.

I will be praying for you. Please let us know how the appointment goes.

Know that all of your Paper Sisters have your back no pun intended and that we all will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Susie...

You are sooooo right!! Cancer is definitely something that families should NOT share!! I am so sorry that your sissy lost her battle with cancer. I cried when I read that. Your Son is a miracle to be cherished for a lifetime. You are a miracle to be cherished for a lifetime. Cancer is a wake up call to what matters most. And that my friend is the people we love most in our lives, and the ones that stand by us while we battle this demon.

You are strong, and brave...and it's ok to be afraid. Just always know that if God is for you who can be against you?!?!
