Ahh, ok, closer to Philly then. I grew up in Bensalem, but in the Neshaminy Valley part. I remember when the Mills was new and the movie theatre was OUTSIDE of the mall in its own building. Ahh, the good ol' days. LOL

That is too funny! Now everything is attached to the mall! I remember all the hype that there was when it first opened and I thought that it wasn't that great. lol

ROFL Same here!! For an outlet mall, it sure wasn't cheap! And yeah, everything is attached... That place makes me crazy. Who wants to walk a solid mile from one end to the other?? NOT ME!

hee heeeee...... My nieces go there all the time only because they can walk to it, but they prefer to go to Nashaminy Mall. I don't blame them.

The Neshaminy Mall - I used to work there, as did my sister. 3 minute drive from our parents' old house. That mall has changed a LOT, too!!! I still miss the totem pole, despite the fact that, having studied Anthropology at school & the Native American tribes, I know totem poles are only found in the Pacific Northwest. Still, it was a landmark, darn it!

The kids have only had one day of school this week. And now they are calling for more on Monday, anywhere from 2 - 8 inches.

Hi everybody, During the storms I spent time printing pics. I prepared myself about a month ago, bought extra ink and paper. Now I just have to do it. I am still waiting for a package that got lost before the storms. The post office told me yesterday they are still 5 days behind in deliverys. Fishtown was very hard to get around in.

Where is simply Scraping?

Here is the info on Simply Cropping:

http://www.simplycropping.com/id34.html

I have gone to their weekend crops for years. They do 4 every year. I usually go to the one at The Ace Conference Center (near Plymouth Meeting/Chestnut Hill). This is a new venue for them, so we decided to try it. They put on a great weekend crop.

Hi All! I finally finished my registration for CKC 2011 - only taking classes on Saturday this year. I think I'll really miss my normal 3-4 day scrapbooking spree, but my wallet can't swing it this year and I have to work Thursday and Friday. Boo.

Many of the classes are good, you just have to decide what you want to focus on. Embellish It and Quick Quotes have good classes for layouts and Button Farm's album classes can't be beat. Check out the sponsor's websites to get an idea of their style so you're not disappointed once you get into a class, see the supplies and think, "I will never use this".

Hi Ladies,

I am from the Far Northeast Philly. My Sister is Baby2thousnd. She is no longer a Fishtowner, they moved about a year ago, LOL. A group of us get together once a month and work on kits from CTMH. The end of the month about 10 of us are going away to a house we rent for the weekend to scrap!

Where is the CKC 2011 this year? I have never gone to one.

~ Dorothy

I plan to be there all three days. I usually volunteer, in the past this would give me a class. Plan to register this week. The deadline is the 18th. I live in Philly, not far from fishtown. I commute back and forth each day. Keeps costs lower.

I used to volunteer as well- and work for some vendors on the side that would pay in product. The benefits for CKC volunteering have really been lacking the last few years and it is really not worth it at all. (IMO) Nothing is free anymore with a shift. You only get %-off coupons so it is almost like you HAVE to spend money anyway just to use the coupon. If you're not interested in a book or T-shirt - why bother? They do give %50 off of 1 class but they used to be free.

Yes I will be traveling too. This is one of the only things I look forward too. I don't drive, which means a slight problem, but fixable. Going to Lancaster means staying there. Instead of commuting like I do to Valley Forge. But I 'm starting to plan now at least finances.

Brand new to Scrapbook.com and am looking for people to scrapbook with. I host monthly clubs at my home (no commitment and varied cost depending on the kits) and am looking for people to just come and do FREE crops with me. I am located in Southern Lancaster County. You can contact me at [email protected] or find my blog at www.ejoym.blogspot.com

I'm ok with the CKC move to Lancaster, but not ok that the rooms were completely sold out well before registration even started. A friend and I have been going to CKC in VF since it began and can't count how much $ we have spent there. We both registered again and can't find a room! Our classes go well into the evening so driving back and forth each day isn't an option. Too bad I'm not back in college, - I could just go to my dorm in nearby Millersville....

It was great to see you in the snow storm! I reserved a room as soon as they announced the price for them.... I think it was in January, Sounds like they did not reserve enough rooms. They said that they were going to try to get more rooms but they haven't posted anything more about it.... Seems like there would be a lot of hotels in the area. This is the first time that I reserved a room on site.

Hi Cindy - Welcome!

Update on the CKC Lancaster room - on a whim, I used my AAA card and tried to reserve a room online. It worked! Now, granted, the room rate is ridiculous (way over the group rate) but I feel much better knowing I'll have a place onsite.

Hi - new to this site, but went to the expo last year and enjoyed it- will be going again this year- probably not to the crop for both days, but will definitely do the crop and shopping on saturday- they had a great vendor last year where all of the bling was a dollar a pack..are you going to go?

I will be going also, on Friday the 12th for the shopping only and I can't wait! I never participate in the classes- to much to do on the vendor floor
I'll also be attending the CKC Scrapbook Convention in July. I've been attending that one for five years now...
