If you click on 'how to use' it works, but if you click on 'Heidi Swapp' it takes you to the store.

About the links that take you to the store...scrapbook.com has it set up so that if certain words are included in posts it takes you to their store where that item is sold. So, for example, if you have "Heidi Swapp" in your tip title, when you click on *that part* of the tip it would take you to the store. If you click on *other* words it would take you to the tip. For example in my tip above, the words "patterned paper" will take you to the store but the "how to make" part takes you to the link. Try that and see if it answers the questions above. :-D

I find that I have to mis-spell words to keep the automatic links from happening. Like with Wishblade . In my siggie, I used something else for the "l."

If you turn the "er" around to "re" the meaning isn't lost but there will be no automatic link interfering with your link.

I have been reading this too and love all the ideas. It would help if people do have pictures of the technique in their gallery - just state that in the instructions - then the person can go and look at what they actually did. I'm a more visual person and sometimes have a hard time putting the words into actual results! LOL

It may be easier to blog it (with photos) or put the steps in an album in that person's gallery. Especially if there's lots of steps or if it's too difficult explain by words.

I have not done this but Paperwishes took textued stamps stamped on the flowers then embossed, they took glitter glue to the petal edges also. Third tip they did was grid tape ontop of petals then colored in woth ink pads (like stenciling). The petals were pocka dot.

I haven't tried it personally, but I'm wondering if Mod Podge would work? You may have to put a couple of coats (at least 2) and let them dry in between, but I think that would work...

Hi, just want to check I understand this correctly....instead of replying directly to any questions posted on this forum you have to post your technique in your library? Not quite sure how I'd link them but perhaps I'll find out next time I try! How should have I known this? Where would I have found that info? I thought anyone could just respond to forums...It's all new to me and a bit confusing! What else do I need to read before I make more gaffs?

Hi Scrappercaz, and welcome to the neighborhood!!
Yes-you can always reply directly in the forums...any of them, including this one.
For this thread specifically, the reason for posting your tip in the library first then linking it here is so that GG can put them in the first post, keeping all the tips on the first page and easier for anyone to access.
The only way you would've known this is to come across this thread, as you did!
Feel free to ask any questions - its a great bunch of talented and helpful people you've stumbled upon here!

Thank you Kim for answering Carolyn's question.....I appreciate the help

And yes Carolyn....it makes it easier for everyone if your tip or technique can be added to page one of this thread (which I do once you link the idea from the library) because when you want to find a how to you only need to look at page 1 not 15 pages of posts...lol!

Welcome to sb.com! Look forward to seeing you on the boards!

Hi Louise, I do not see that as a topic listed on page one of this thread....where are you getting the link from?

The problem is if someone uses a name of a product/mfg in thier description (in this example Heidi Swapp ) this board recognizes it as a product in the store here and automatically takes you to that mfg's product. If the person had just typed "how to use masks" and linked it, it would go straight to the how to pictures.

hope I did not confuse you more....just wanted you to know why this happened.

Ribbon Storage

Take an empty shoe box and cover it with pretty paper. Put 1/2" grommets on each side of the box. Put loose ribbon in the box with one end of the ribbon coming through the hole.

I added this to the library as well. Enjoy!!

Ok, I have another one....although I may have picked it up on here long ago

Instead of buying the little gem adhesive accents like those sold by Heidi Swapp , you can instead purchase the little gems for placing on acrylic nails. I found some at a little $1 store that don't have adhesive, but are the same shapes and look just as good!
