Allrighty gals, in the theme of the thread about things that you wish you never had bought, I think it's time to list some things that you are super happy you have every time you use them!

Mine:

1) Alvin GM1218 self-healing cutting mat.
These are sold at quilt stores everywhere for CHEAP. I mean like $8 for a 12"x20" mat. They're made out of the same stuff as the MM mats and have handy grid lines and inches marked out, as well as lines for 45 and 60 degree angles.

2) Tidy Tray for embossing powder

Coat this baby with some cornstarch and two years later I still have mostly full bottles of powder because little to none is wasted!

3) Double sided tape
I use this to attach everything to everything. It's my adhesive of choice!

4) My Xyron X

I haven't found a need for the bigger ones... yet. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Xyron .. some things just need to be turned into stickers!

5) Matte fixer
Some things just need a shot of fixative before going out the door. There's only one way to ensure that your metallic pigment ink isn't going to come off on someone's $300 white cashmere sweater, and that's a bottle of fixative.

6) Spool of hemp twine
Looks great on everything, is a faboo around the house twine, great for hanging up stuff in the studio- love this stuff!

I LOVE my little xyron X, too!

My Wishblade - Love the ability to use any font that I want!

My ATG Gun- This thing is saving me a ton of money in the long run!! Not to mention, the adhesive sticks like crazy!!!

My little scissors!! I never do a layout without needing scissors at least once!!

Xyron X and 900 - Love them both! Great for adhering vellum and ribbon too!

Wishblade - Awesome machine! Would only trade for a machine that cuts chipboard.

MM trimmer - By far the best trimmer I have ever owned!

Dream Kuts - Don't know how I managed to make so many paper bag albums without it.

Bind it All - My books look much neater with this machine, pages turn better than the pages using the rings or ribbon, and it cuts thru CD's like butter!

Glue Dots - Use quite a few of the Mini best thing to adhere flowers.

Crop-a-dile - Awesome little tool, can't wait to get my hands on the big one!

MM piercing tool - use it all the time to punch little holes in the paper for the tiny brads, and to lift small items off of the Wishblade mat.

Pebbles pink eraser - Love it! Not only does it remove chalk but the tiny pencil tic marks I make on my LO's where I want to position pics and stuff.

My Metal ruler - don't know what brand, they came two in a pack, has cork on the back.

Gosh I could go on all night with my fav's!

Wait!! Fixative?? Tell me more! I only recently discovered metallic pigment ink and love the look, but I seriously thought the stuff just wasn't drying! Where do I buy this fixative stuff? Is it kinda like a clear spray paint? Is it expensive?? Holy cow, I learn something new and wonderful everyday!!

Cricut 12" paper trimmer (I have had many others and would not trade this one for my life)

I have never heard of this either... I always just hit it with my heat gun and it seems to dry ok.

Fiskars Triple Track trimmer

Fixative can be found somewhere in the art aisles of M's or ACM's. Artists use it all the time on their pencil and pastel drawings- you can get away with using hairspray but it really doesn't work as well as fixative. A big spray can is about six to ten dollars and lasts FOREVER.

Hair spray as a Fixative is nopt acid free and will yellow and become gummy on you scrapbooks or art. I would never use it.

there ya go tina. All I remember from art class is that it's OK to use on study drawings and such. So everyone spend that $7 on a can of fixative and never worry about smearing your powdered pigment again!

I am more happy than remorseful about most of my sb related purchases.

I LOVE my:

Xyron X
Cricut
Cropodile
MM Tool Kit
All of my paper
My Cropper Hopper paper organizers
Glue Dots
Double Sided Tape
3 in 1 glue (not really a sb product but it is the bomb adhesive)
Sizzix Sidekick

Mostly everything. LOL making a list of regrets is easier because it's shorter and those things stand out better in my mind. But I love the positive vibe of this thread.

I have a large mat made by Basic Grey that has grids on it. It came with an awesome ruler that's a magnet and sticks to it. There are also several small magnets that allow you to put your layout together and hold it in place temporarily until everything is where you want it. It's the FIRST thing I reach for when I start working. I've also never regretted my xyron tape runners.

Zyron X, never ever do small die cuts without it.

Zots

Dotto

Sizzix Sidekick

Sidekick 13 inch cutting pads- I run a strip of adhesive on one of them and stick down 4 dies to run through the machine. I can cut titles in no time now. The adhesive stays on for a long time so I only have to do it every once in a while.

Sterilite craft cart. I didn't buy it myself it was a gift and it has been a life saver. The drawers having lids have kept me from lots of little hands digging through my stuff. I t can get annoying while I am actively scrapbooking having to take the drawer out to open it but keeping my stuff safe from snooping little hands is well worth it.

Fold up adjustable height plastic table. Again this was a gift but I have been able to do so much scrapping now that I am not sharing the dinner table.

I ordered my 12" reach stapler off of QVC. I think they might also sell them in office supply stores, but not positive on that. I like it better than my Fastenator, but that's just my personal preference.

I LOVE my crop a dile. and square punch, got them on sale on bf!

I LOVE Fancy Pants wildflower chipboard.

I also have cutter bees! They are great for stitching! Nice strieght lines. I never attempted to 'sew' before, since I knew I wouldn't be able to do strieght lines.

I don't like Glue Dots . I got a free sample and found they were more trouble than they were worth.

Here are my favorites!

Craft Robo - similar to Wishblade , for cutting out letters and shapes
Signo white uniball pen - I am using this on so many layouts now for journaling or doodling
Clip-It-Up - I love that I can now see all the stuff in my stash at once
Fluid chalk pads - I have about 20 of these and I use them for so many things, edging, distressing, stamping, even changing the colors of flowers or cut out letters
Fiskars small scissors - I use this for everything
Ott lite - oh my goodness, it is so much easier to see now, I have two of these
3x magnifier glasses from the drug store - it makes it so much easier to see up close when I am doing any kind of detail work
xyron X - of course
Black Staz on ink - so versatile
Fiskars shape cutter - I know some people hate this but I find it easy to use

I keep lots of things within arm's reach and go for them every time I scrap. Besides what's listed below, I also reach for my Cuttlebug, my Making Memories Circle Cutter (I'm a HUGE fan of MM), chipboard letters (again, MM is my favorite), and I use MM snaps and eyelets with my Crop-A-Dile.

I would have the same list of things as everyone else but the funny thing is the things I truley value/use the most, self healing pad, xacto knife, scissors, pin tool, clear and metal rulers, thin black pen... were all things I had before I started this scrapbooking.
