I am so bummed out girls. So I was about to do my laundy and noticed I was not going to have enough soap, I go to the store and when I get back one of my dogs is running on the side walk I pull over to get him when I look in the middle of the street and there is my other (fav) doggie Suzy dead. She was hit by a car. What a great b-day I am having. I am so saaaaaaaaaaaad and to top it all off my little ones saw their doggie dead in the middle of the street.

PLEASE pray for us.

Please say a prayer for my step cousin Lola. She walked in and found her mother dead this morning (my aunt by marriage, Zelma). Her grandmother is in the hospital having surgery to determine if she has cancer and she received a call a little while ago asking if she wanted a DNR order because evidently her grandmother is very bad and has ovarian cancer. Lola doesn't drive and is alone with her 2 year old son. Her mom's death was very sudden and her grandmother doesn't even know about it yet. They aren't even sure that she will make it through the day either. So it is possible that she might lose her mother and her grandmother in one day. I don't know for sure, but I do not think that Zelma knew the Lord and I don't think her mother does either. Please pray for peace for Lola and for comfort in the days ahead. I know that she will have so much ahead of her.

amparo - i'm so sorry to hear about your day!! you'll be covered in prayer.

amy - i'll continue to pray for your job situation...what a horrible company! on a lighter note, i'm sure you'll find something better...meaning Legal!! ** is Lola a believer? i'll be praying for her & for God to comfort her.

pam - your wedding craziness will be in prayer! is it going to be a big wedding? i had a very little one myself since i gave myself 2 months to plan (we wanted to get married in the fall & decided not to wait a year & 2 months, so we hurried...so our stress was self-inflicted:)hehe). what branch of the military is your son-in-law-to-be in? my husband is applying for the air force, so i'm preparing for the big ol' lifestyle change as well!

shari - i'm right there with you about the morning people...my husband all but leaps out of bed every day at 5:30, and he'll walk around humming/whistling/tapping -on-things...it's a good thing i love him...man, even thinking about his morning cheerfulness makes me a little ill...

so this circle journal thing confuses me more each time i read my novel (i mean the instructions...just kidding deAnna! ). but seriously, once we get them, i may have to ask a bajillion questions. ... yes. a bajillion.

THats ok Kim ask away. Everybody ask if your not certain. Cause I'll be asking The groovy Deborah LOL!!!!

I do apologize for that novel (I am ROTFL at that one Kim) Too funny! I do tend to get carried away but when I was typing/cutting/pasting/ad ding/writing/cutting well anyway it was all sounding good in my tiny little brain at the time LOL!!!

How is everyone tonight?
Went to a mystery dinner theater at a friends church tonight and we all laughed all the way home because it was so bad! Ever have crunchy chicken alfredo? (crunchy noodles that is LOL) and the acting was so hilarious!!!!! it was great!
They raised enough money to send all the kids to camp!!!! That is so awesome!

Hope you all have a blessed night. Sleep well

Well, sounds like there is lot of prayer needed today. Everyone will be in mine.

Amparo-I am so sorry about your b-day and everything that has gone on. I have never had a pet but I can just imagine the pain from what you saw.

Lola will definitely be lifted in prayer.

Kim - I love your comment about just thinking about your DH cheerfulness in the morning makes you ill.

Amparo -- so, so sorry to hear about the death of your beloved puppy and the heartbreak of the girls being witnesses to it. Prayers going up for you all, Hon. Praise GOD that your hubby is home now, to be a support during this time of grief. May the Lord surround you all with His love, comfort and peace; may you all remember the happy, funny, sweet times you shared with little Suzy

Amy -- My heart and prayers go out to your cousin, Lola -- to lose her mother and grandmother at the same time must be devestating. It's sad that her mother did not know the Lord - not easy to comfort someone in this situation. HOWEVER, as my Hubby says, "you don't know what happens between the Lord and someone on their death bed - only He knows where they were spiritually..." Praying peace and comfort for Lola and her family during this time and for you, too, Hon.

DeAnna -- glad you had such a good time at the dinner theatre ! Haven't been to one of those before, but I'll be they're fun ! Rog and I are having a quiet evening at home, watching "No Reservations" on TV (DVD) and hanging out on our laptops. I was in Anchorage today and spent some time with DD Jen, DS Matthew and his girlfriend, Kasey; got see my DS J for a few minutes as well, which is always sweet !

Matthew, Kasey & I went to one of the municipal gardens/nurseries and got some cool shots of plants, flowers, cacti, birds and millions of ladybugs! Am in the editing process right now, but will have them in their own album in my gallery soon if anyone would like to see them.

Afterward, we ran a few errands, met up with Jen at the library and all of us went to lunch a little while later.

Not sure yet what I'm doing tomorrow -- really need to get some housework done, but also need to make my LO for this group, too -- haven't even started it yet !

Blessings on you all -- see you tomorrow !

Hi everyone!!

I am SO excited to be joining the group and can already feel the love here!

Here are my responses to the questionaire.

1. What is your real name/what do you liked to be called? My full name is Deborah Anne Cogley. I don't really have a preference, Deborah, Debby, Deb, even Dee.
2. Where are you from? I was born and raised a Southern California girl. I grew up in La Mirada, right on the Los Angeles/Orange County border. I like it here for the most part. I lived in the desert (Palm Desert to be exact) for nearly 6 years. Let me just say, I'm thankful the Lord didn't leave me wandering there for 40!!
3. Family? I am married to my wonderful husband, Kenny. We just celebrated our first wedding anniversary in February. In January, my father had major heart surgery (he is 82). We are living with him right now in the house I grew up in. (Kind of weird . . . )
4. Occupation? I am a Personnel Specialist for a small school district in Buena Park, CA. I have been here for nearly 6 years and most of the time I love my job. (You all will definitely be receiving some prayer requests time to time regarding my job.) I work specifically with certificated employees (anyone who has a credential).
5. Age? I am 42 years old! Wow! I can't believe I said that out loud!!
6. How many hours a week do you typically spend scrapping? Given the opportunity, every free moment I have would be spent at the movies or scrapping. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world, so maybe once or twice a month I scrap with my next door neighbor/scrapping buddy. We usually plan to scrap for a "couple of hours", but they turn into marathons lasting until 1 or 2 a.m. (once even until 4:30 a.m.) YIKES!!
7. What size LOs do you prefer/do you do? I have only done 12x12 LOs, but I bought a small (I can't remember the actual size) scrapbook that I want to do for my sister (who turns 40 this June), so I'm eager to try out some new things. :)
8. How would you describe your scrapping style? I haven't been scrapping long enough to know all of the different styles. Also, when I look at my work, I don't really see any particular style. That's really why I'm here. I'm hoping you can tell me!! ;)
9. How long have you been scrapping? Well, I've been buying scrapping supplies for about 4-5 years; however, I have only been actually scrapping for close to 2 years. I did a lot of stamping and cardmaking prior to my scrapbooking debut.
10. Do you have a product or technique you’re known for? For a while my "technique" was using a handmade embellishment on my LOs; however, the less time you have, the more you learn to improvise (aka buy premade embellishments). Hee HeeOr what do you always seem to turn to when you’re putting together a lo?I don't know that I've ever done a LO without eyelets or brads. I also love to have a scripture on my LO whenever possible.
11. Do you have a favorite manufacturer or product line? Gosh, I love SEI , Rusty Pickle and Around the Block . The problem I find with my LSS is that they have such a variety, that they often don't have all the coordinating items I know are available.
12. Why are you drawn to scrapbook your faith journey? Great question! The real reason I wanted to start scrapbooking was to scrapbook the photos I have from my first mission trip. Believe it or not, I have not scrapped one page of it (yet). I think it was such an important event, I didn't want to make any mistakes and all the scrappers I knew told me to start with something simple. I think that was great advice, but I really need to get started on it, five years have passed. :(
13. Is there someone on sb.com whose style inspires you? Wow, there are so many great artists on this site. The ones that come to mind are GabrielleP, TraceyJackson, Pia, MissSweden, and there are loads of others that are escaping me. Besides, I haven't even had a chance to look at all the work in your galleries! I know I'll love them all. :)
14. What do you hope to give and gain from being in the Faith*Scrappers COF group? I am hoping to gain a circle of friends who inspire and encourage me in my spiritual, personal, and professional life (as well as my scrapping life), while holding me accountable to be in prayer, in the Word, and in His Spirit. God bless you all, I am so happy to be here.

Blessings,

Deb

Just a quick update that Lola's grandmother passed away this morning. I am so hurt for her. She has lost her mother and her grandmother in 24 hours. The two people who meant the most in the world to her other than her son. She has never really known any other life other than them. She is my age and has never had a job, her baby's father isn't in the picture and her mom had been divorced from my uncle for a couple years. I pray for comfort for her and that her eyes will be opened for her need for a Savior.

She will definitely be in my prayers Amy. That definitely is a reason to lift her up to the Almighty One.

I haven't started my layout for this yet either. I have another one that I have due on the same date. Maybe I'll finih that one tonight and then can start working on this one. I have an idea, but I really need to find my pics to go with it.

Quick question, Are we allowed to do digi layouts. From time to time I do them. Just wondering.

hmmmm good question. I do digi layouts from time to time as well but I've never entered one in anything. Mainly because as a graphic artist I can do things digitally that could never be done with paper so I've always felt like it had an unfair advantage even though I love to do it.
Even then I have used digitally altered images in layouts.
Lets poll it. What do the rest of you ladies think? Are digi's acceptable to you?

i think digital layouts are TOTALLY acceptable - mainly because it's still a way to express yourself & create a lasting memory...and isn't that the whole point of scrapping in the first place? and i don't think it's cheating if you're a graphic artist - i think that mainly means you have more to contribute as far as cool layouts and helping other people learn aspects of digital scrapping that they wouldn't be able to learn on their own.

amy - i'll be praying for lola...perhaps this is what God will use to get into her life in a more personal way.

deb - welcome!! it's nice to "meet" you!

deAnna - no i'm grateful for your novel!! i keep reading everyone's ideas for their cj's, and it makes me more confused. i'm going to assume that i'll understand what i'm doing when it gets here... (that was me after i wrote that last sentence... )

i hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! we're going to church in the morning, and then we're off to hershey for the last hershey bears game of the season!! (the hershey bears are a hockey farm team for the washington capitals.) i'm SO excited...there's a scrapbooking store right down the road from the stadium!! Woo-Hoo!!

KIM- I have heard great things about that store! I hope to make it up there one day.

DEANNA-I haven't thought much about the circle journal yet, I'm on vacation! LOL! I am sure I will when I get back into my space.

We are having a wonderful time here doing nothing! At night after the children are in bed I am re-decorating my mothers house. She always has a very LONG list of things she wants me to do! Ah so much fun! Tomorrow we are off to church, can't wait to see everyone again, and hear my "old" preacher again. Then we will go to Taco Bell just like we used to do every Sunday growing up.

Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

Morning everyone!
Amparo, I'm so sorry your b-day was so sad, I know the death of a pet is hard on the family. We found our beloved, Debbie, dead 2 weeks ago, and now her pen mate keeps us awake all night! She howls because she's lonely. We will probably have to give her up because she's keeping the neighbors up, too.

Amy, I know it was a tough decision to make, but cudos for standing up for yourself. I know God has other plans for you! I'm also praying for Lola! I can't imagine going through the turmoil she must be going through.

The cj sounds like fun, I've always wanted to do one, but was afraid to try!

So sorry I haven't been around- there is so much turmoil going on right now in my life. It looks like "My Time" will be totally limited for awhile. I have had my 2 year old dgd for the last 5 days. Her Mom suffers from Bipolar Disorder and has been having a bad time the last couple of weeks, and it's best she's with me. I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
I'm finding it hard to catch up on everything- and getting to know you all! I have started my layout and will have it done. I am so excited about the CJ- my first time doing one!
Amparo- Happy belated BD!Sorry to here about your dog- will be keeping you in my prayers.
Amy- What a terrible loss for Lola- will be praying for her.
DeAnna- I appreciate all the info in your novel! You covered everthing- and I need all the help I can get! Digital is fine with me- is this concerning both the layouts and CJ?
Welcome to you Deb!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Would you believe it was 92 degrees here in Calif yesterday! I am not ready for that yet!

Well that was what Victoria stated so for this one I would have to say yes. A picture of yourself but you could add any other picture as well.

And as far as the digi LO's from the comments here and the pm's i've gotten the consensus is yes digi's are allowed That means I can play too and not feel guilty

Hope your all having a great weekend!!!

Just checking in...

Went to a public greenhouse in Anchorage on Friday and 98% of my computer time has been editing the 99 photos I took !

Amy ~ sorry to hear about Lola's grandmother -- praying the Lord will surround her and her son with His comfort, which will in turn cause her heart to seek after Him. Please let her know we are praying for her...

Irenie ~ Sorry to hear about your daughter's struggles. My beloved Hubby was diagnosed with bipolar at age 20 and I have other friends (brothers and sisters-in-Christ) who also have this condition, so I can relate somewhat to what you must be going through. Prayers for her, yourself and your granddaughter.

About the "digital vs paper" debate -- I'm fine with those who want to submit digital, but if there are several who prefer the digital over the paper, you could always have a category for each. Just an idea...

I haven't begun my LO for this month's challenge yet, either -- keep meaning to, but get busy or distracted by other things...hope to have it fnished by tomorrow (Monday) night, as I have to head into Anchorage very early Tues morning and don't know what time I'll be home.

**Prayer Request**

My oldest son, Chris, turned 32 today (Sunday) and, if the Lord leads, please pray that the enemy's blinders will fall of his eyes. Chris was raised in a believing environment and accepted the Lord as Saviour at the age of 12 years. For many years, he read his Bible, went to church and followed the Lord's leading. Sadly, over the past four years or so, his understanding and faith in GOD and His Word have changed (due to the influence of someone he considers his best friend). Consequently, he no longer believes the Bible is the inerrant Word of GOD, but was written by fallible men and therefore, open to interpretation. Along with being creative, warm, tender-hearted and compassionate, Chris is an intelligent man - not stupid by any means - but in this area, he has made some very unwise choices. Thanks, dear ones.

Getting off here for now - it's 11:42 pm and I want to get more of those photos edited before I go to bed.

Blessings on you all !

Hello lovely ladies. Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Looks like we all need a lot of prayer. I will definately be praying!

I fell down my steps outside yesterday, from top to bottom - about 8 steps in all. Ow ow ow! My behind is so sore! And my arms as well. Fortunately, I have a lot of extra padding or I would have broken something since I fell good and hard. And even more fortunately was that I was alone, going for my early morning heart walk, so no kiddos went down with me. Praise God!

I went to a 12 hour crop on Saturday and got 10 pages done, all in my gallery. Feel free to check them out when you have a chance.

Sorry you fell Rusha! That hurts.
Did I explain on my book (I know I didn't
I went ahead and did all the embellies on the cover even though I said not to because The books I sent are just plain chipboard and card stock. I know that my style isn't for everyone so don't feel like yours needs to look anything like it. I just wanted those of you who have never done one to see the possibilities.

Remember tomorrow is the last day for your layouts and I have a fabulous RAK For someone
So get busy!!!

Hugs

Oh Rusha, I'm so sorry. I'm very glad that you didn't have any kiddos with you. I did the same thing about a year ago. I ended up "spraining by butt" as the chiropractor put it. I ended up having to go to her for about 4 months. It was really sorry. Take lots of rest in the horizontal position and rest that bum!!

DeAnna, I loved your CJ. Cover and all.

I'm not sure if I'll get my layout done tonight or not. My DH and I are cooking dinner at church tomorrow night. My goal is to get it done though.

Have a good day everyone.

Can't wait to see all the other layouts.

Just wanted to let everyone know I am still around! Just having fun at my parents. I did want to share a prayer request: Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of the Virginia Tech shootings. Please pray for the campus and the town of Blacksburg, this will be a hard and difficult day to get through. This is a town where EVERYONE was affected, pray for the churches and campus groups who are ministering through this tragedy. I hope to get over on campus myself tomorrow, I knew a couple of the people who were killed. Thanks.

Irene I love your LO! Fabulous just like you!!
Red I will definately keep the situation in my prayers.

I have a question for you ladies-How many is too many?
there are 13 of us in the group and I have recieved this request from a lady whose recipe swap I joined.

Hi DeAnna! I saw your faith Scrappers link in your signature and was delight to read the love and support that is given by the members. I really feel the need for relationships that help me focus on the Lord. I was wondering if you are still accepting members? If so I would like to join. Thank you.
Melody

So I need a reponse from all of you asap! What do you think is 14 too many for this group?

WOW!! Everybody must be busy working on their layouts. Huh, I'm not. I cannot concentrate knowing that I have two other things that I should be doing instead. And of course, I 'm not doing either one of those either. Instead I am watching American Idol!!!

I won't have mine posted tonight but I should, hopefully have it tomorrow.

Oh yeah, as for another person, I don't mind. I'm not sure if really makes a difference.

Alright, I guess I did get mine done. I know, it's very simple. I just couldn't think or find anything to put on this one. I have three more years of track pictures to scrap, I don't want them all to look the same.

I think I cheated a bit though. The picture of me is from my junior year of High School. Does that count? It's still me, just 60lbs lighter and my hair is shorter now.

Here's your link:

Track 1994

Off to start choppin' some veggies for my soup for dinner tomorrow.

We do a fellowship supper at church every Wednesday. We signed up for tomorrow. Nothing like cooking for a big crowd. I barely cook for my family of 4.

DeAnna, thanks for the love. I am not too pleased with it, but I had to get it done and sometimes simpler is just better. I'm a perfectionist most of the time and if it's not what I wanted to do with a layout I have a really hard time just letting it be.

Good morning ladies. Thank you for allowing me to join your group. I'm excited to get to know you! Here is my survey as requested:

1. What is your real name/what do you liked to be called? Melody- it's my middle name.
2. Where are you from? I was born and raised in the beautiful mountains of Maryland and moved to flat Michigan about 10 years ago.
3. Family? My husband, Tim, and I have been married 15 years. We have a daughter, Vashti (if you know where this name came from you know your Bible better than my mom's pastor) she's 10. Tim recently returned home from a 15 month tour of duty in Iraq. My sister lives with us, her name is Kat. We have 2 dogs, Gus and Libby. Kat has a cat, Geri.
4. Occupation? Wife and Mama
5. Age? 33
6. How many hours a week do you typically spend scrapping? LOTS! Tim says I scrap 90% of the time! He's so cute!
7. What size LOs do you prefer/do you do? 12x12 (however I'm currently working on an album for my dad of his childhood pix and it's 6x12)
8. How would you describe your scrapping style? Unique
9. How long have you been scrapping? Since 1997 Wow 11 years! Hadn't relized that!
10. Do you have a product or technique you’re known for? Or what do you always seem to turn to when you’re putting together a lo? You know I don't think I do. It seems lately that I'm not using many embellies.
11. Do you have a favorite manufacturer or product line? not really. Sorry.
12. Why are you drawn to scrapbook your faith journey? I think it will be a great way to grow in the Lord and understand the plans He has for me. I would also like Vashti to know what/who I am in Christ. Something I know she will need to understand in her own life very soon!
13. Is there someone on sb.com whose style inspires you? Alot of people. I could never just name one. Everyone is unique and special in their own way.
14. What do you hope to give and gain from being in the Faith*Scrappers COF group? I hope to be able to encourge other sisters in Christ while strengthing my faith. A much need asset at this point of my life.

Checking in! I had hoped to have my LO done in time, but became frustrated with it (tried to do a digital LO)and gave up !

Welcome to Melody ! So nice to meet another sister-in-Christ !

Thank you, DeAnna, for your kind words about my gallery/photos -- to GOD be the glory for the images you see. It's ony because of Him that I can share the photos I do. I have been praying for Him to use me in this area - to glorify Him and to further His kingdom, but I'm not sure yet how - or if - He will lead me to do so.

Have to run now - a day of errands on a WINTER's DAY ! We had about 5 inches of new snow this morning, though most of it will melt away in the next few days (mostly sunny and temps in the upper 30s to mid-40s F)

Will check in again later this evening

Did I tell you about the prayer journal? LOL
Didn't think so. We are all keeping a prayer journal and scrapping the cover and posting it in our albums. Some of us (Myself included) are a little slow on this one.
But I think years from now we will look back at these journals and see how far we've come and what great friends we have made.
Groovy Deborahs is just gorgeous!!!! it's in her album and you can get an idea from it.

hi everybody! i'm about 2 pages behind here & i don't have time to read up right now, so i'll be praying for everybody here and for everything that i will read tomorrow that God knows about already , and i hope you're all having a good week!! next week i should be able to keep up a little better. it's been kind of hectic at work lately (as you can imagine in accounting before the 15th), and this week is when i'll be getting all of the "normal" stuff caught up that i couldn't get to during tax season. i'm looking forward to getting back into a routine again!!

Huh, took me a minute to figure out what the FSCOF was. Got it now. Figured it out all on my own!!!

Melody, I know where Battle Creek is. Some friends of my parents, well, I grew up in church with their boys, live there now. Actually, they set my parents up.

Kim, I'm going to have to look at your pics. I love photography and would love to do more with it. I'm just not sure where to start. I guess the right camera would help.

Hope everyone has a blessed Thursday.

I feel much better! Praise the Lord. I still have a hint of the old thing but hopefull all this lovely weather will send back into hiding.

Deanna...4 teens...and prom....I will so say a prayer for you honey!!
Sheri and DeAnna...About the FSCOF thing...I get the FS part but can't figure out the COF...please enlighten me. Thanks!
DeAnna...I've also been thinking about the prayer journal and will try to make it in the next few days. Thanks for the idea!
And for the CJ...Sorry I have alot of questions today...Is everyone posting their theme so we can be thinking on them or will we just find out when we recieve them?? I haven't come up with a theme yet.
Ok. I think that was it for now. I'm going to lay back down untill it's time to get Vashti from school!

Welcome Melody!

Vashti was the Queen daughter who saw the writing on the wall the night the king died, am I correct?

Or was she part of Esther's story?

DeAnna, I didn't get my journal yet but I am checking hte mailbox every day. I think sometimes it is a bit slower coming and going from Canada than it is within the States. Sorry about that!

It is LOVELY here today. It is so warm and the snow is almost all gone from my front lawn. It brings tears of joy to my eyes since we have been covered in snow for the last six months. Although my poor hubby is not celebrating with us since he has caught the last of the winter flu and is sick, sick, sick. I just pray the kids and I don't get it!!

How is everyone today? This is so active I have a hard time keeping up with all the posts! Well, I am off to get a certain toddler a cup of apple juice before his little world falls apart!

Blessings!

Kim those pictures are beautiful! You are very gifted.
Thanks for clearing up the COF DeAnna.
Rusha--Vashti was the Queen who refused to go before the king when he and his men were drunk and he banished her and replaced her with Esther. So yes, you were right!
However, it's very intresting that you say about her being in the palace when there was writing on the wall in Babylon. Someone else told me that same story. Was there something on tv about it or something?? I asked our church 'Bible Historian' (she's like 75 and sweet as sugar) anyway she told me she thinks that it was in 2 different time periods. She was going to look into, but I forgot to ask her about again. I would be intrested in where you got the info though...I think it could be quite intresting.

Oooo, I am off to look!!!

Melody - I am pretty sure that that Vashti is one and the same with the one Esther replaced. According to my Jewish friends, Vashti was a Babylonian princess. Her father Belshatzar inherited the throne of Babylon from his father, Nebuchadnezzar and ruled briefly after his death. Vashti was thus the granddaughter of one of history's most notorious anti-heroes, the Babylonian emperor Nebuchadnezzar. Here is a link if you are interested: http://www.tziporahheller.com/one_article.php?id=41

I really don't know what I am talking about! LOL As soon as I heard Vashti, I thought Esther. Other than that, one of my friends told me about the writing on the wall business. Hope that helps!!

Good morning everybody!!!!
I have a splitting headache. was up until 4 this morning scrapping. As you know our Pastor is leaving so we are having a dinner for him and his wife this evening and one of the ladies decided that she would scrap an album for him and people ere to contribute cards, pics and stories. A couple of didnt receive invitations to any of it so we got together last night and scrapped our own pages. Pray that the evening goes smoothly since we are all going to say goodbye to our Pastor.

Just want to remind everyone to vote, you do not have to participate in the challenge to vote.

And don't forget to leave your sisters a little luv in their gallery. They deserve to be recognized for the beautiful work they have done.

beautiful prayer journal Melody.

Has anyone heard from Amparo? I am so worried about her!!!

Checking in --

DeAnna - praying for a wonderful and blessed time this evening with your pastor and siblings-in-Christ. Also, for your migraine to leave ASAP - I believe it's the enemy's way of trying to distract you from the time of sweet fellowship to come. Try to take 30 minutes to get to a quiet place, put on some soft music and spend time resting in His arms. You'll not regret it!

Thank you, Ladies, for your kind words about the photos I shared - to GOD be the glory ! As much as I enjoy scrapbooking and paper-crafting in general, my passion is photography. I still have a lot to learn, but I feel a deeper connection to the Lord when I view life through the lens of my camera and it is such a blessing. When one of my shots pleases someone else, it's a double blessing, as my prayer and heart's desire is to draw others to the beauty and splendor of our Creator and His creation.

Irenie -- While I do have Photoshop 7.0 and Photoshop Elements 5.0, I rarely use them and prefer to do the majority of my edits with Roxio PhotoSuite 5.0 (which came with a Lexmark all-in-one that we no longer have). For on-line editing, I recommend Picasa . I've heard great things about Picasa and know you can do edits with this program, but not sure if you can add text onto photos... Here's another site you can check out -- Picnik .

Today, DD Jen and I are heading out to Wasilla - a town about 35 miles NW from my home. We have a dear church friend who moved out there recently into an assisted living home and we'll be taking her out for lunch and a stop at the Christian bookstore, too. If the Lord lays it on your heart, please pray for Jan, who is in her mid-to-late 50s. She's never been married, but her sister and family live nearby and her mother (who is in her 80s and - I think - has alzheimers) lives in Anchorage (45 miles south of Jan). Jan was diagnosed a few years ago with dementia and her brain is literally shrinking. She becomes forgetful on occasion, but for the most part, her brain is working well, although she is no longer able to live independently - something she has a hard time dealing with. She loves the Lord and has found a new church in her community (she used to attend church with us), but is still quite lonely. Jen and I used to take her out to lunch and/or a movie a few times a month when she lived in Anchorage and she really misses our times together. So, anyway, if the Lord leads, please pray for Jan to find joy in the midst of her circumstances and peace when the Lord brings change into her life.

Jan

Have a blessed day, everyone !

hi ladies! my husband and i have decided to leave our church, which means it's time for the dreaded "church shopping"... we LOVE our church. the people are great, the pastor is amazing, and it's everything we've always thought church should be. lately, however, i had started to feel God telling me this wasn't the place for me. last friday night i told my husband how i was feeling, and as i shared, he said he had been thinking the same thing. well, if we BOTH feel like God has a ministry for us somewhere else, then it's not like it's just some "feeling" we can just brush off - we know it's the Spirit nudging us. we have a few places we're going to try, and our pastor has offered his help as far as giving us a list of churches he knows and believes to be doctrinally sound - as well as suggesting where our personalities may fit in the best with what he knows of certain places. but could you all please keep us in prayer while we look? just that God would lead us where we could be most effective? we'd greatly appreciate it!

and now, as i stare blankly at this circle journal that arrived today (), i'm going to go rearrange some furniture and shove my air conditioner in the window!! if my apartment isn't 60 degrees, i am not very pleasant. i think it's pushing 75. pray for my husband.

Hi all! Just a quick note to say I added both Kim's to my prayer list.
Also Rusha~I got your PM and will write back-promise! It just will be later tonight. My parents come for dinner every friday so I won't get to be on here much until later.
I'll be thinking of you DeAnna in your saying good-bye. it's never easy. Tim doesn't ever say good bye to anyone....just says I'll see ya later or see ya soon. He says good bye is a final thing and we hope to see most people again sometime, here or in heaven! Anyway...hugs to you!
Catch up with you later!! Hugs all around! I'm so glad you let me join!! Thank you!

Hugs to everyone today!
Kim, I'll be praying for you in your search for a new church home. We have had to do that before and it can be a stressful time. My dad was a minister and I think I look for his traits when looking for a minister. When that person leaves the church and an interim comes in that isn't what I need, I have to leave (happened twice!)

Ladies, I need some prayers. I have been so depressed lately. I really just don't know where to begin, so I will just ask that you place me in the Lord's hands. I also feel that I might have developed an eating disorder. I could be wrong, but I just rarely eat. Sometimes all I eat in a day is maybe a donut, or maybe a bowl of cereal or just one thing. I think some of it may lie in the fact that I feel my husband thinks I need to lose weight, even though I am perfectly OK with my size. I am a size 10, having come down 35 lbs and from a size 16 in about 11 months. Now my 10s are almost falling off of me, my wedding band is getting loose and I have no energy. I don't even feel hungry most of the time. I think my depression has set in from my epilepsy and has taken over. I really need prayers. I just don't think DH understands how his words hurt sometimes.

Oh Amy, it's a rare man that does understand. It seems to me that for most men if someone says something they don't likwe they have this ability to just pretend it wasn't said at all so how can they understand or sympathize when words wound others? A size 10 is awesome!!! I'd give more than 1 eyetooth to be a size 10 again!!!!
As for depression, there are so many reasons for it for anyone and I think you have quite a few of those going on in your life. Your health, your childrens health, just having had surgery many times will cause depression. worrying over your weight. and just a mean and nasty old devil trying to rob you of the joy that God want's you to have.
You are in my prayers sweetie!!!

Dear Sisters in Christ,

I'm sorry I have been missing this week. We just finished preparations for our layoff hearings in the next two weeks and I have been shuffling and copying enormous sets of documents this past week, while also preparing for assignment monitoring (which basically means the County Office of Education verifies that all of our teachers are working under the proper credentials). Anyhow, both items required long hours at work the past few weeks (6:00 a.m. to about 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.). PTL, it's all finished and I can get back to my regular schedule next week. I also have a huge group project (1/3 of my grade) that is due in another week.

You all are so amazing and as I read your requests I have been faithful to pray for each of you. I am so thankful to be a part of this faith community and I thank you all for your patience in getting on board.

I should be able to finish up my "late" LO and have it posted this weekend. I am eagerly awaiting my CJ and believe I have my theme. I can't wait to see and hear about all of yours.

Thank you again for letting me join your group. Melody, an extra warm welcome to the other newbie! My goodnesss, you've already surpassed me with postings.

I pray the Lord blesses you all with His peace, patience and strength this week. I'm praying for all of you.

In Him,

Deb

Amy you are in my prayers. I have suffered with an ED all my life and it is awful. If you need someone to vent to, more information, etc - please feel free to send me a PM. xoxox You are beautiful! And...is it okay to hate you because you are a size 10? Lucky!

I will be praying for you Kim in your new church search. That must be difficult! I remember when my husband and I had to look around for a new church two years ago. We basically went to one church and loved it and decided not to look anywhere else - we knew the pastor and his family and even though it was a church of 200+ people we were missed when we missed a Sunday. We felt God leading us to stay. It was so easy! That being said, I know how difficult it truly CAN be, so I will be praying for you. xoxo

It is community service day at Church in the morning. We are having a praise and worship service, then going across the street and rehabbing a run down baseball field. Mowing the grass, painting the bleachers, cleaning up trash, and basically just making it useful for the community. Then there is a spaghetti dinner after. It should be lots of fun.

Amy, I am so sorry you are going through a tough time! You are always in my thoughts and prayers!

I am officially on Prom night watch! My dh has to leave at 4:00AM to go to CA, so I get to stay up and wait for one boy to come home (the others are staying at friends houses). Before coming home, the oldest is going to make sure the other 2 boys are where they say they are going to be!
After the oldest told his mom not to contact him (she's still telling them that nothing happened, that they were making it up), to speak only to my dh and I, and not to come to graduation, his mom showed up to prom to take pics. He was so mad, but told me he had the best time!
Glad to hear your ok Amparo!
