I can't get the song "Bleeding Love" out of my head. It's by Leona Lewis...she won the equivalent of American Idol in Great Britain. She's one of Simon's favs.

 We were talking about cooking (at the dinner table...) and I mentioned I could do anything to an egg except poach it. DH says, "Honey, poaching is illegal." It is NOT illegal to poach an EGG. Geez-Louise.

It is not illegal for Ria to poach an egg owned by Ria. However, if Ria were to poach an egg belonging to Vivian, without her permission, that's a whole other ballawax. Definate gray area.

I'll let Ria in exchange for some Stickles.

Thanks, girls, I needed that laugh. But if I can't poach an egg belonging to me, what makes you think I can poach an egg belonging to Vivian? I can't poach eggs for squat. And not for lack of trying, neither.

Hehehe..not really sure what a poached egg is here.

Hmm.. however I have been reading a blog of a lady that is basically just kind of pretending to farm (she calls it pretending to farm) here in AZ. She won't eat any of her own animals (although she eats these type animals...won't eat hers or sell for meat), but she does take wool for yarn and eggs for food. So she decided that like 30 various types of poultry would be fun. Chickens, turkeys and ducks galore...now she has an over abundance of eggs. Her blog cracks me up. I have always wanted a little land and my own mini farm. Sounds like fun!

only had to spend an hour at the party. I fed the kids before we went so I didn't have to stay to have any of the food there. Before we left we made a birthday card using the island girl on the Paper Doll Cricut Cartridge (her 16th birthday theme was tropical or Hawaiian, not sure which).

Glad you made it out of there okay.

Me, too.

Thanks Guys. Gotta love the "oh the kids bedtime is 8 and I don't really want to disturb their routine" or the "I have a paper I need to write tonight for class" either work.

Kids have their use at times...

Hi everyone, just breezing by. My in-laws are visiting, so not much chatting from me this weekend, sadly. Though maybe early in the mornings before everyone wakes up.

Sorry I've been AWOL. I've been trying to do all my CT layouts for TTS so I can get the big carrot at the end, LOL. Will be pretty pitiful if I get them all done before the middle of the second week of the month! I'm such a junkie.

I just uploaded two new LOs though, if you wanna check out what I've been up to. You know me... just can't resist a challenge.

There you are Tinkerbrat...hey...I cannot find the picture of you guys from House on the Rock. You gave me a copy, but now I can't find it. I think I cropped it and used it in a LO. (I was going to just scan it and print another.) I went to your MySpace and saved a few of the pictures (same ones you'd already given me) to see if maybe I could fix the images and get crisper prints.

It's a critique group. I think, and I could be wrong, but I think it is a Wonders of the World subsidy. Kind of. Every member of Wonders of the World has her own group. Mghairgirl (Monica) has Ayers Rock. And I probably have that all wrong.

Good for you! Evidentally, I gave up real solid food for Spring Break. I'm back on my high protein, low carb, low fat thing starting Monday. I can't believe I lost 35 pounds, then gained more than half of it back. I feel terrible and look terrible and I can't breathe again, so it's time to get on it.

I really wasn't sure when I went downstairs. Kim & I have so many of "our shows" TiVo'd that we never get a chance to watch.

And when I first went down there, she was watching the new "South Park" from this past Wednesday. I listened to 30 seconds of it, asked if it was new, and realized it was about the recent writer's strike. Boy, that didn't take them long.

My aunt let it "slip" to me that my grandpa had a "lady friend" while he was married to my grandma.
I have never had anything but wonderful memories of my grandpa, so this was hard to swallow.

Well, what annoys me is when I'm not listened to. I told you that putting in your email and pw wouldn't work, and it didn't. I ended up signing in under my own account. (WHich I'm surprised I still HAD, seeing as I didn't make my yearly order of prints.)

I plan to scrap at some point.

Kim has already said she has to figure out "what to do" with Ethan tomorrow because she "can't stay home" with him all day. But she doesn't have any extra money, either.

Ummm....I stay home with him. All day. Sometimes. We manage OK.

I suggested the park if it's nice tomorrow. The library if it isn't. Or I could send her on errands and let her take him shopping with her.

You don't have to watch your mouth, Ria...just keep an eye on it.

Have you ever seen the comedian that does the routine about keeping an eye on the children VS watching the children? Was it George Carlin?

should I mention that in 83 I would be turning 3 in October and 4 in 84?

No. No, you shouldn't.

So should I mention that in 83 I was 10 years old?

That's better than turning *3*!

I just heard some distrurbing news today.
My aunt let it "slip" to me that my grandpa had a "lady friend" while he was married to my grandma.
I have never had anything but wonderful memories of my grandpa, so this was hard to swallow.

BTDT, sorta.

Jim has an aunt who is married to a guy who went to school with my dad, mom and mom's sisters. (I forget which of them he was actually in a class WITH. But it was a very small school, so everyone knew everyone.)

For the longest time, whenever we'd get together, he'd ask about my aunts and uncles and everyone he knew. One time we were talking about my mom's middle sister - my favorite aunt, btw - and he said something along the lines of, "I know [her first hubby] beat on her, but she went out on him."

The first part I knew. The second part I didn't.

Okay, right now I'm just feeling really, really tired. Gonna go crawl in bed. Maybemaybemaybe the kiddo will sleep through the night and/or late tomorrow morning. Maybemaybemaybe.

Kim's supposed to be in charge of the kid tomorrow, so hopefully I can close myself up in my room here, clean it some, get some paperwork done for work, and scrap like a madwoman.

See you all then.

Goodnight all who are going to bed! I'm up, cropping photos, watching Cosby Show.

Cliff: Who are you calling?

Clair: I don't know. The zoo.

Cliff: The zoo does not want a garter snake. Garter snakes go to the zoo to see REAL snakes!

Clair: I cannot have this thing crawling across my kitchen table!

Cliff: Snakes cannot climb stairs!

Clair: Who told you that?

Cliff: It is a scientific fact!

Clair: Then how do snakes get into trees?

Cliff: They fall off the cliff!

Warning. The following vid could seriously affect any serious sci-fi buffs. Plus sit and refrain from drinking anything during viewing:

John and I used to make a point of watching the season preview shows on Sci-fi. I think it might have been season 6 when Amanda Tapping starts yelling at RDA "I'm stuck on an iceberg with MACGUYVER!"

Even now, John and I will just look at each other and say it.

I've got to scrap tomorrow. I am first up on the round robin. It's been awhile since I went after someone else. Oh well, need to think of something original. Of course, I tend to do lo's with a big circle. I'm going to have to be different(putting thinking cap on). HMMM.

A big hexagon?
A big triangle?

A big triangle...the points representing you, your family, and Jesus, and then journaling about how each works to hold the other two together.

(Okay, so maybe it's a stinky idea, but at least it's one stinky idea you don't have to spend time thinking of and discarding.)

That is such an awesome idea!

Here's how stupid John's company is.

I'm not sure when, but ages ago, this toopid young guy was driving warehouse equipment, didn't pay attention and ran into John, who was standing in the yellow painted safe area/no equipment allowed zone. Guy got in trouble and had to take a "whiz quiz" to see if he was just stupid or if mind altering substances were involved. I think toopid guy lost a raise because of it. Toopid guy now blames John for all things.

Tuesday, John was hauling cardboard to the compactor when Toopid Guy intentionally moved the equipment he was driving to block John's way. Wouldn't let John pass. (This was not the first time it happened, either) John mouthed off to him a little: "I can stand here all day, I'm done with my work, it's your rate sheet that's gonna suffer. Oh yeah, it's not, cause you lie about how hard you work." Toopid Guy responded that he was gonna come down there and kick John's tush. That was the point where John left the cardboard and called HR to file a complaint.

HR interviewed John, Toopid Guy and the one witness and concluded that while Toopid Guy opened his yap and actually threatened John, since "he probably didn't mean it" they were gonna just dismiss the whole thing. That torked John off, because if he were not 6'2", kinda burly and an ex-Marine or if John had made the threat, they would've taken it seriously. HR finally sent Toopid Guy home after John informed them that if they did not take it seriously and do something to stop this, not only would John refuse to work in the same department as Toopid Guy, but John had no problem going to the cops and the county courthouse and applying for an order of protection against Toopid Guy and watching the police cart Toopid Guy off for breaking the order since Toopid Guy is toopid enough to think himself above the law.

I don't know what else came of this, but John's HR department is, well, toopid.
