Stickles are like a liquid glitter/glitter glue that comes in lots of colors (see the post above). They come out of the bottle in a rather thin line so you can do detail work, like draw a line of glitter around a photo or title letters. Basically, you can use them to add glitter to almost anything without the muss and fuss of putting down some glue and sprinkling loose glitter over it. I have even used them to trace designs on pp so that it gets shimmery. HTH
I haven't bought the stickles brand, but I tried some from the $1 bin at Joanns and I love the added touch they give. I will even cut out small letters and than put that on the letters to give them dimension and color. So much fun for swirls and just about everything!
i am so glad i read this! i've been wondering what stickles are and why everyone loves them so much, and just after reading all of your answers they sound so fun! you can bet i'll be adding some to my stash asap!!
Just picked up 7 more colors yesterday of this very addicting stuff.
If it's put on thick it will remain a bit puffy but if it's put on a bit thin it will flatten which is what I like about this stuff...I have a choice.
Green for leaves.
Then just the normal colors that can be used on everyday items like flowers, titles, use as frames, outline letters so stick to the basic colors at 1st then once u get hooked u can expand ur collection of colors like many do.
I like to use mine w/the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I'm currently making a large chipboard tag using both 3 ways to cover, paint, Tattered Angels then Stickles to outline a few things.
I think the basic colors is a great way to start out: red, green, blue, black, gold, silver, pink.
I used to use fabric paint all the time. Stickles are very similar, but I am pretty sure they are archival safe, where I am not sure about fabric paint.
I say silver and clear are must have colors, you can use them everywhere. One of my fav things to do is use them on cards or projects that I have stamped. You can get the most beautiful look! I have already gone through a bottle of clear and candy pink. I really need to restock on about 10 of my colors, cause I totally love 'em!!! My fav embellie at the moment, they are soooooooooooo versatile.
