I want to do a 3 ring binder with different size layouts.

Some 12x12
Some 8.5x11
Some 8x8
Some 6x6

If I got the American Crafts page protectors , would this all work in a 12x12 3 ring binder album?

I don't want to buy the stuff and find out it won't work.

I don't know that they would work in a 12X12. I would be afrais some would only be held in by one hole and not stay in. YOu would have to measure the distance between each hole to see if they would fit.

Well, it wouldn't bother me if the 8x8's and the 6x6's were only held with 2 of the three binders. I would not want them held with just one.

I was hoping someone else had done this so I didn't have to buy them and realize it wouldn't work. KWIM?

I just don't have a store around here that carries this stuff, so it's not like I can just go and look. I wish I could, but I have to order them online- and that's my problem.

If there's only 2 holes could you not use a 3-hole punch so that they wouold fit??

well that would be obvious that apparently I never thought of.

Jen.

It's been a long morning. That totally solves my problem.

I've done this before- in fact, all of my books are this way. And all those protectors should fit- you may have to re-punch some of them to make the holes line up with the rings, but all will go onto at least two of the rings.

Take a pic after you do it, and post it. I'm way too OCD to *do* this, but I'd like to see it.

I will.

It's for a baby album for my brother and sister in law.

I thought the different sizes would be a neat break and those 6x12's would make great journaling inserts.

Unfortunatley, I can't start it just yet, b/c i have to wait for pay day to get the supplies.

I have a 3-ring binder from American Crafts and the 12x12, 8 1/2x11, 6x12 page protectors in there. I'm sure the 8x8 would fit in there, might be only two rings that hold it in, but wouldn't that look even more cooler?

This is what I've decided to use.

I'm fine with two rings, as long as it's not hanging by it's just one.

And the hole punch solves that problem

The combination page protector pack WILL work in the American Crafts 3 ring albums.

Big Picture Scrapbooking is doing a class on this, if anyone is interested. Its by Cathy Z. Here's a link, registration for it opens next Friday:

(Picturehappy, love what you've chosen. That's going to be such a cute album!)

I use the AC albums.

I have 12X12, 6X12 and 8 1/2 by 11 in them. I haven't tried the 6X6 and 8X8!

Good luck!

I did this and used every size page protector available. They all worked without punching any holes except for one - i can't remember which and I'm not home right now to check. The one that didn't work was quite easy to fix with a hole punch like the above poster said.

I'm sooo interested in that class that Tricia mentioned - gotta check it out!

I love those albums, and that you can make the cover to fit what it is you are scrapping.

Thans!

I know. I wish I could take it too, but with me not working right now, it's just not gonna happen

I am fascinated by this because I am in the process of converting all my scrapbooks into a scrapbook-photo album. I'm using the photo page protectors and putting the photos right in with the layouts. This way ALL photos for each event/story are altogether whether they're scrapped or not.

Then, a couple weeks ago this very question was brought up on which albums were compatible with the different size page protectors and Gigi PM'ed me a link where I saw one "in action"...and WOW it was gorgeous and precisely what I want to do. You can pm me for the link if you want to see it, but it's a tutorial done by Lisa McGarvey on doing multi-sized albums if you want to google it.

Tricia, wow that class looks amazing and had me wanting to sign up...UNTIL I saw the price. I'm sure it's "worth it" but in a market where I'm not even sure I'll still have a job tomorrow, it's impossible. Are all BPS classes around that price range or do they all vary?
