Just curious...are the files for the Pazzles Inspiration the same files as were used with the older style of Pazzles? I have a Pazzles Creativ Cutter Mini.

Here's how I understand it - this is definitely true for Funtime, and I'm pretty sure it's the same for the Inspiration.

The older Pazzles software, and the WinPCSign software, are older...but you can export from Funtime so that they can open them. File, Export, and choose the version that contains 14.

If you wanna try, check my cupcake files. If you can't open them, I'll try the export, and we'll try again.

I just got a pazzles inspiration as a birthday present from my hubby...been begging for one since it came out.

I sure do love what I've figured out how to do so far (mostly just cutting chipboard and paper). Can't wait to learn more about it

I love my pazzles mini. But I've got to use it consistantly before I can convince my hubby the Inspiration is worth it. My fault that I haven't so far, not the machines.

Now, the mini cuts the same basic dimensions as the Wishblade , right?

What kind of stuff do you do? Maybe we can come up with some files and stuff to get you going, and convince him.

I have the older mini, too. I use it mostly for fonts. Rather than buying the new Inspiration, I broke down and bought a Cricut. I looooooooove the Mini and its ability to cut any font or dingbat, but I am not savvy enough to do much more than that. I have made some paper lace, but since the mini only cuts 8 1/2 x 11, that is limited use.

I my cricut and how easy it is to use ready made files. The only reason I bought the cricut, though, is because I had a nice big win at the casino that paid for it and a bunch of cartridges. I knew if I didn't have a decent variety, it wouldn't get used!

I wanna see you guys with the mini's start using 'em! I looooooooooove my Wishblade , and have done SO much with it...it cuts the same basic size.

Give the conversion utility a try; I don't have the older software to experiment, but if you can import PLT files, it should work for you.

And I'll be posting some more WPC files soon.

Oh, my gosh--I am so happy to find this new forum because I just got my Pazzles two weeks ago at the Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, CA (my reason for attending). I met Klo there and bought it from her. She is a real kick and SO KNOWLEDGEABLE. If you have a question or problem and she has not already addressed it in a video on her website, she will figure it out and then post a new video! Unfortunately DH and I are in the middle of a home remodeling project that has turned the whole house into a mess and is taking a lot longer than anticipated so my Pazzles is still in its box--also had to put my scanner back into its box and my laptop into its case. I will return to this thread though as soon as I can get rolling with this wonderful machine.

Incidentally, while demoing the pen tool accessory for me, Klo discovered that a dried up pen will act as an embosser. It may not do everything the embossing accessory will do (we didn't try), but it will definitely do outlines. Keep that in mind before paying the extra money for that particular accessory.

Hope to be back in this thread next month. Thanks for starting it!

Jodi

Ok I am new to the pazzle. I just got mine in the mail the other day. Are there any chat forums or groups to do with this. I would love to learn all I can about it. I just got the inspiration.

I'll admit I haven't kept track of the groups. I can't keep up with another thing!

Start with Klo's blog...there's a link to it at the top of this forum. She's got some GREAT video tutorials there.

Hello everyone... I have a Pazzle as well and although I rarely use it. (I know a slap on the hand) I want to learn more about it. I think it intimidates me more then anything. I have heard so much about the fun time software and I am a little confused? Is this the software that came with my pazzle or is this another software that is recommended to buy? Also if it is where do I find it and what can I expect from it that the software that came with the Pazzle doesn't already do?

One more thing as well. I have found a bunch of places online that have free WPC files and when I open them I get the image on my screen then when I scroll up or down to view the image it either disappears, breaks up the lines, or distorts the image altogether. Am I doing something wrong??? I would have to say that 8 out of 10 times this will happen when uploading an image.

Thank you for your help in advance and Also thanks for having this Forum it is GREAT!!!!

OK....here's how I understand it. The Pazzles software IS Funtime.

But, the Pazzles folks took Funtime, and developed their own "facelift" for it. So the screens are a bit different, and some of the functions have a different name. But, files are compatible, and you can do the cool "stuff".

I have had that happen, but not terribly often - I usually hit the button to zoom back to full page, and it clears up. It might be a function of the video driver, or you might need more memory in your computer. Try running the Pazzles software without other things open, and see if it improves.

Thank you so much Megan! You are so full of information!

Also if I wanted to get the updated version of Funtime where would I find it?

Andria

I'd hang tight for a month or so. The updated Funtime will NOT cut directly to the Pazzles. Klo posted that Pazzles is going to do an update/upgrade towards the end of January to include the new version...if you get it from them, it will likely be cheaper, and you'll be able to cut from it. As it stands now, you'd have to export and open in the Pazzles software to convert.

Define cutting out of bounds?

First, make sure you do all the updates. Have the Pazzles plugged in and turned on. There's a firmware update on their site, as well as an update to the software that came with it.

Doing both of those updates solves a lot of small issues.
