Micayla is getting a Doll House, an FP3 Player, a V Smile Pocket, A Baby Doll and additional outfit, Craft stuff.

Geoff is getting a train table, trains (3 sets), some cars, and a workbench with tools.

I spent less than 200 on each of them, half of that went to the big gifts, Doll house and Train table.

All that's left for them is a $5-$10 stocking stuffer and a big Hershey Chocolate bar (they always put them down to $.95 to $1.00 this time of year).

Viv, what are you getting your son this year?

Nothing but the cookbook I'm making. Dh will more than compensate for me not getting him anything else. I'm not even getting stocking stuffers this year. Just call me "Scrooge." I don't even feel like decorating. Hopefully, this will change but if not, heh, no biggie.

I'll open up savings accounts for little boys but other than that... nothing is planned beyond the cookbooks.

Last year the stocking stuffers were manicure sets since the guys kept taking and not putting back my stuff. So that set the theme of the stuffers. Some years I'll stuff them with nuts still in the shells.

We watched Shrek the Halls last night. I didn't need to decorate. It's not about the tree or decorations or even gifts...

I just ate some. That's it on our leftovers. I was miffed that we got no pies and mom made three of the five.

Well I just scrubbed the inside and outside of my microwave and took apart all the vents and filters and cleaned them. The fronts of some of the cupbaords and the kickplate on the fridge. Hubby is cleaning the ceiling fan for me right now. Michael is edge vacuuming the living room. Megan is cleaning up from dinner. Zach is about to get his rear kicked, and then he's cleaning my bathroom!

I really don't enjoy Christmas music. Bahumbug!

Almost done trimming the mini-photos for the 4x6 recipe cards.

Viv, you don't like holiday time? Any certain reason?
I know I have to ease myself into it. Just how I am.

I used to hate this time of year then made myself "like" it for the kids' sake. Now they're grown up. I can drop the act. I'm a relatively happy person all year round. I don't feel I need to or should kick it up another notch for a commercially inspired holiday. I'll do my shopping after December 25th.

I put much more energy into Thanksgiving and Seder/Passover. I'll still make gifts for everyone but just don't see the need to go nuts anymore.

Hi ladies! Just stopping by to say hi, things were super busy today. Several trips to Walmart. I'm done for Christmas, no more shopping for me. Also gave my sister a tour, and finish the day with smoked ribs. Now she is making me some soup so I can freeze it for later. Kids and dh are watching a movie. Long day...

I'm here. I survived Black Friday. It's my first year where I've actually NOT been working and been able to shop. I got a lot of stuff and I think I'm done Christmas shopping, except for packaging stuff. (Paper, boxes, bags, etc.) I actually started Black Friday last night.

Tinkerbrat and I camped out for 3 hours at M's so we could get her a Cricut. She had gone above and beyond the call of duty this year as my best friend. She stepped in and helped Jeremy and me out with the kids whenever we've needed it, even loaned us money here and there, so I felt she deserved it. We got her the Create and she's been playing with it ever since!

The camping out was an experience like no other. I didn't think there'd be a whole lot of people, so I went with a fully-charged iPhone and iPod so I could be entertained. (Should've been reading Eclipse, though.) I got there at 3:45, store opened at 6. By 5pm, the line started. There were easily 100 people waiting outside the store, and 99% of them were there for either Cricut machines or the $29.99 cartridges. I ended up getting Tinkerbrat her Cricut and then three carts: Tinkerbell for her, Fabulous Finds and Happily Ever After for me.

Now I can handle a couple of hours waiting in line. (That's about how long my iPod's battery lasts in video mode.) What shocked my socks off was the people camping out at Best Buy, they were spending the NIGHT outside the store, they opened at 5am. They were there for the laptops (I never did find out which one or how much, I'm quite content with my MacBook thank-you-very-much). They were pitching tents, barbecuing, playing video games on portable battery packs! I was like OMG!

Got up at 4:30am and got to Wal-Mart by 5:30am. I had never done Black Friday morning shopping and let me tell you I was surprised how ROWDY the crowd was!!! Pushing, shoving, snatching, OMG. I don't know if I'll do it next year or not. But the good thing is I am pretty sure I am DONE shopping...

Hi ladies! Long week for me! Worked for dm Mon-Wed. Everybody wanted their houses clean for Thanksgiving. Then Wed after work I had to get ready for a family portrait for my dm. All of us kids were together for a change. I didn't get home until about 11 pm. I got up at 5:30 to cook for Thanksgiving. I am so spent! Dh said I was running a fever when I was sleeping last night. I wouldn't know, I was exhausted when I hit the pillow! I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving!

Back from dinner...gave the kids the pullovers, hats, and gloves I got them today already. They can really use them now, it's getting cold. Got Jory a Transformers pullover, black gloves, and a Lee's Summit Tigers reversible hat. Got Lizzie a Hannah Montana pullover, hat, and gloves. I still got LOTS for them to open Christmas morning....

Okay, mine are a little too old for the santa letter. 23 and 17.

Mine are 13 & 14, and they still have to write the letter even though they know. I think it keeps the magic. I still do this with my mom.

The magic is in the giving and remembering why we give. Yours are still young enough where I wouldn't have a problem. Though I like how your family does it. Wish I had thought of it!

Yours don't ask for anything? Not even dh? If that's the case you are lucky, cause my dh is worst than a 6 years old kid giving you a 4 page santa letter.

My daughter knows that money is tight so she has never really asked for anything since it has just been her and me since she was 8. I pay real careful attention to what she talks about. She keeps saying she wants a Mariposa Barbie. Silly kid, she just turned 17. I can't decide if she's joking or not.

They used to ask for things. This is the first year I am at a loss. Apparently they have everything they want or know that I can afford.

In that case go straight for the heart. Things or memories that means a lot to them, things that money can't buy. I like to recreate memories, I usually do with my dd. She likes it!

Table fits in the scrap area. Shelves fit where I want them to go. Still need to find a tall chair/barstool for the table though. Still haven't found my albums yet, so they must still be stored at my brother's. I may go over there tomorrow to get some things. Want Abby's room to have a few more things in it.

YaY!! Will they be back for Christmas?

Yes! Arriving Dec 19th and not leaving until Jan 2nd or 3rd. Hopefully we will see them alot more then. Their friends here tend to get longer visits than us family.

Welcome to Black Friday.... and I'm going to be staying home. I've already had my M's fix, got two cartridges, now I'm up suffering from too much food and hormone induced insomnia... I will be on later on today, posting my new card (the stickles are drying) and other things I will be creating. Oh, and my baby brother is supposed to be here on Saturday! Whoot! This is the first time he's been out here to visit.

My BF ended up being very home-based, too. Slept until 9:00-ish. Around 10, DD called and asked if I could take her to run errands. (BF had taken her car to go to work.) I said sure, but DH had *our* car out at the moment. So she called him...I got showered & dressed...and he called to say that, since he was already out, he'd just go get her and take her errand-running.

So I ended up not leaving home until it was time to come to work tonight. And I didn't mind a bit.
