Hi Lovelies,

Just checking in quickly. Brayden is nappping, Drew is playing with his new toys, Grandpa is asleep on the couch, Grandma is getting dressed, and I am sitting here miserably sick, still in my Christmas jammies.

We had a wonderful morning over here. The boys had so many presents that about half way through opening them, they just gave up. I had to open the rest for them. My mom got them each a pair of UGG boots. Just super cute!

I'll be dropping the boys off around 2 PM, then over to my mom and dad's house for dinner. I think I'll just go to sleep over there until dinner is ready. I'll be spending the night there, too. I don't want to come home and be alone on Christmas.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Merry Christmas!

Oh, I am so sorry Carrie, sick and having to drop your boys off. At least you can look forward to tomorrow and your Secret Santa.

My kids always opened one present at a time, fooled around with it for a while b/4 opening another. We wouldn't have stopped them from just ripping into them, but they liked it slow and thoughtful. It's easier for them to know where stuff came from that way. I hope you're feeling better and glad you'll have a nice warm couch to stretch out on.

Hi everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day and you are probably feeling right now like I felt that time yesterday, totally over eaten, bloated and tired.

Didn't sleep much last night so feel really tired again today.

So I can now thank you very much Shannon, the bag is awesome and will certainly be put to good use as will the Bath & Bodyworks Lotions, boy do they smell good....thank you so much you had really been paying attention hadn't you...lol..all the bits and pieces are also fabulous and suit my scrapping style so well so thanks for all of them as well. Will take a pic sometime today to put up.

Its our big holiday day today 'Boxing Day' (English tradition), so we watch the start of the cricket match against South Africa which is being played in Melbourne, then the start of the big yacht race which starts in Sydney at noon and finishes in Hobart in approx 2 1/2 days, and doze of cause.

Then we have to go to Hobart for 'that' dinner and drive back home after it in the dark which I absolutely hate doing at the best of times let alone when I'm so tired...thought I would have Erin to animal watch for me but her and Jarrod are going down to Katies for a couple of days so I have to drive home and no doubt dh will sleep the whole way as he does because he would have been drinking....so even more reason not to look forward to that know...oh well.

Carrie, so sad to hear you weren't well for Christmas, but sounds like the boys loved all their goodies. Will be thinking of you when you take them to the roach, maybe you can hit the stores to take your mind off it eh!!

Hey everyone! Merry Christmas!

Carrie, sorry you weren't feeling good. I'm also VERY sorry that you didn't receive your package. Such a bummer!

We had an awesome Christmas and DH got me the Paper Dolls cart. We finally got Noah to bed and now we're just cleaning up some. I am just so very excited that DH is off until January 5th. We are going to schedule a nice date night for sometime very soon. Yay!

I am up letting the dogs out and taking a peek. Lesley, you called it - I'm feeling bloated and tired. Dinner turned out very well and we had a very nice day.

I'm not sure how the Animalia books were shipped, they were supposed to be Secret Santa, but they were a special gift from Lesley and me. I'm glad everyone liked it.

Hi, Rachel. I am glad you are having a good time and that you like the mouse pad. At first, I had been picking up purple things here and there - then you said you packed away everything and went digital. Fortunately, I can and will use everything I had stashed. Then you said you did a page in the car - I said oh-oh she has a lap top. So I am glad you like the mouse pad. I have one at work with the wrist rest and I think it's one of the main reasons I do not have carpal tunnel problems.

Of course, I did too. Well, not the whole table but the brisket I made.

DD liked her cookbook, too. She said, she's gonna transfer it over to a bigger notebook. Sure, go ahead.

Good morning! How is everyone today? I'm good, we plan on just spending time at home. I'm excited that we don't have to go anywhere. I think I want to talk DH into going to the best Chinese buffet around. It's been sounding good to me lately. haha

It's funny... I took my camera out into the kitchen to take a picture of dinner, but things got so crazy that I completely forgot. Actually, my mom and my FIL's girlfriend did 90% of the cooking. I wasn't feeling good.

Went to Evil-mart. I didn't buy anything but the license. Dh couldn't think of another place to buy salt-water fishing licenses. We each got a license since we're going to the beach tomorrow to fish and get oysters and clams.

Then we ended up at a sporting goods store! Yes, we could have bought the licenses there!!! Sometimes my dh is very blond. He bought a bunch of stuff for fishing and is planning on taking our canoe to the beach. That's a first for all of us.

While at Evil-mart, I priced MyBooks. Dh either remembers wrong or prices have gone back up. I'll let you decide which. Wal-mart had 250GB MyBooks for $99 something. Prices were better at Best Buy but their smallest MyBook was 500GB at $99. I want two but want to keep it under $100 for the two. I was planning on buying it next month but if I could have found it at a cheaper price I'd have bought them today.

I won't be able to mirror the two but plan on keeping the same info on both. Dh will get my old MyBook with my stuff removed from it.

Still, 500GB at under $100 is a good deal. Maybe I should buy one this month and another one next month?

Marlene, have you uploaded yet?

Leesa, I think I've got something similar to your kit but not with a tin. Good luck with that.

Got all my DCWV in order. If I weren't going to the beach, I'd be scrapping tomorrow for sure!

I want two for backing up purposes. I want redundancies to help protect data. I'd either transfer info through our home network or copy and paste via a memory card. But this way with current info (mainly pix, scans and documents) on both, we'll be less likely to lose data if one crashes. One will be in the main house and one out in the building.

It's alot of work.

Now dh will be taking the canoe, so it will be interesting. Need to take our walkie-talkies since I don't look forward to trying to get their attention while they're fishing by waving or jumping up and down.

I live the glamorous life, don't I?

Hi Girls,

Just wanted to pop in quickly.

I spent from 3 PM to 6 PM sleeping yesterday. My dad woke me up to eat dinner, then I was right back to sleep from 8 PM to midnight on couch. Then from midnight to 9 AM I slept in their spare bedroom. My mom gave me some cough medicine with codine, twice, so I was completely out of it. I'm feeling better today, but yesterday was a total pisser.

I've just been taking my time packing up my Christmas stuff today. I'm just about finished with that, then I will come in the office and disconnect my computer. So, I will be offline for the weekend for sure. Not sure when I will be back on, so until then, I wish everyone well!

No Secret Santa package for me today.

Viv that sounds like you are going to have a fun day, you sure lead an adventurous and fun life, hope you have a great day with your family and be careful on the water.

What is MyBook? is that like a laptop computer? sorry if that sounds dumb but I've never heard of one and laptops are all over $1000 here so just wondering?

Leesa I would take you up on the offer if our $$ wasn't still so bad, there sure is a lot of stuff in that parcel...but I'm sure there will be heaps that would either buy it or someone that lives closer and can do a swap with you.

Sounds like you got heaps of scrappy stuff

I was wondering the same about My Book. Lap top? Why don't you just get an external hard drive? You can get lots of memory for $100.

Leesa, the tin looks nice but it's not something I would use either.

I didn't get any sb stuff except Secret Santa. My sister sent me a gel mat for the floor by where I stand to scrap. It's the kind chef's use and I really like it. We got a new microwave and a coffee pot. My son cross-stitched a "mom" on a heart plaque and did a very nice job, too. I never know what he'll be up to.

BTW, I am fully aware that I don't NEED any scrap stuff and everyone is cautious about buying it for me because I have no probs buying it for myself.

I'm almost done with the mini book-Christmas gift. I thought I was all done but I skipped a page so I have to add some photos.

MyBooks are external hard drives.

After talking to dh, I've decided to buy a 1TB at Sam's for $124 and still use my old 250GB one for backing up. I've not even filled up the old one half way and that's with dh's help.

So I'll have two. Old one will stay connected to my PC 24/7 and new one will go back and forth or visa versa.

I'm now installing alot of graphic, clip arts and old programs.

I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. I'm like this before any long trip.

So I'm installing a bunch of old programs that I found while I was hunting for something else.

Have fun Viv - fresh fish sounds good. There is no fresh fish here this time of year - the lakes are too dangerous for boats and the water isn't frozen so you can ice fish.

Ok Viv, now I know. Yes, I was thinking of getting an external hard drive, my friend has been telling me for ages to get one ever since I started having computer problems...maybe after I collect my camera of lay-by...and before I start saving for all my scrapping stuff I intend to buy when we come over there..lol.

Hi Marlene, isn't that lovely of Kyle to make the piece of embroidery for you, that is just so nice, he sure is talented and obviously very thoughtful as well because he would have known you would love it.

Reckon they think the same about scrapping stuff for me as well, Erin got a big enough shock when she arrived and saw all my paper and with it came a warning not to turn into a digi scrapper until I'd used it all, told her no worries about that I like playing with paper too much.

Hi Rachel, gee you sure did well for Xmas. I'm told the iPhones are pretty cool, I look at them and comment that I'd love one but I would never have the use for it, but your a lot younger and so computer savvy I'm sure you will get a lot of use out of it.

Your parents were good as well getting you the camera, I know your other one has been playing up for some time so I'm sure you were pretty wrapped with getting that as well....what a great Xmas you've had.

Did Lauren like all her goodies?

Well I was heading off to town today to have lunch with Gaelene (my best friend) for her 50th birthday which she celebrated while away on holiday recently.

It was my first chance to catch up with her and just as I drove out of our driveway I knew straight away I had a flat tyre. My brother is the mechanic for the Automobile Club for this area and I would never be without my membership for that even though I've only used it 1 time previously since I began my membership in 1979.

He came and changed tyre for me and couldn't believe I had a puncture in our new tyres, only 2 weeks ago we got 4 new ones. It was a darn timber roofing big long sharp screw type of thing, so I didn't make it up for lunch. He had 13 call outs this morning and was on one when he got my call so I had to wait for ages.

I eventually made it to Hobart without a spare tyre because everything was closed being Xmas weekend, took a risk but felt I had to see her. We managed a cold soft drink and 30 min chat, gave her her gift then headed back home, 2 1/2 hrs return trip for 30 min chat, oh well....

summer holiday home owners have arrived in the town in a big way, I hate it, can't let Murphy off on beach because too many kids, shop runs out of everything, but will get used to it in a couple of weeks, they'll be around until school goes back in mid February so have to get used to it.

No Rachel I haven't received your card yet, but it does have a way to travel.

I got Viv's and Pam's and Shannon's with her gift of course, must take a pic of my goodies tomorrow.

Erin & Jarrod are staying down with Katie today, coming home late tomorrow arvo with Katie & Jeremy. In fact, they are hardly ever here, think I'm a bit possessive, but I'd like to see more of them. Monday the 4 of them are going over to Bruny Island to hike to the top of the mountain on it, the girls probably will only do half of it then spend rest of time checking out the old convict ruins. I could go with them there but don't like boats and its a fair way over there on a boat.

HI Lesley- I've lived in a tourist town and know what you mean. There is quite a bit of tourism here as well, but it's not the main focus. People stop and gawk at the Locks then go to Canada.

Good morning, ladies! It's great to see you Shannon. Did you have a good Christmas?

Rachel- Yes, I did get your card. Thank you!

Carrie- I'm sooooo sorry that you haven't gotten your package yet. It should have been to you already. I mailed 3 packages on the same day, the other 2 packages were received at the beginning of this week. They were even shipped priority.

Hey Lesley, Marlene, Viv and if I missed anyone else...

Oh Carrie, I am so sorry you haven't been feeling well over Christmas, what a bugger that must have been, have you picked up at all?

Good luck with the rest of the move and I do hope your Secret Santa arrives before you move, would hate the roach to get it !!

Were you spoilt from your mum and dad?

Thanks Lesley. Yes, I am feeling MUCH better today. Thank goodness. I will have my mail forwarded, so if the package doesn't arrive today, it will be forwarded to my new address.

My mom got me quite a few presents, although I don't know what they are yet. I fell asleep right after dinner on Christmas, so we never got a chance to open them. I think we will wait for my brother to get home, then open them. He has been in Canada with his kids for Christmas. Yes, I have Canadian nephews...don't ask.

What is MyBook? is that like a laptop computer? sorry if that sounds dumb but I've never heard of one and laptops are all over $1000 here so just wondering?

I have no idea what MyBook is, either.

Good Afternoon Leesa and Carrie! Hope today is a good day for the both of you!

Leesa, I had an awesome Christmas - probably one of the best ones I've ever had. Thanks for asking! Can't wait to see pics of little Noah and his gifts!

Carrie, your Christmas card was so cute! We were all looking at it saying "awwwwww". Abby thinks your boys are the cutest little people ever!

Carrie, I appreciate you thoughfulness and your friendship. I am sorry that you were sick over the holiday, but I hope this warm fuzzy helps. You certainly made my holiday.

I am sho happy you liked all of your shcrappy shtuff Shannon!

I put the circle cutter packaging at the bottom of the big box. Hope you found it. It's nice to hear I made your holiday. Thank you for saying that. Thanks also for the fuzzy. I always love fuzzies!

I can't tell you how hard it is to type extra letter H's after each letter S. I ended up having to just type out each sentence, then go back and add the H's after the S's! It was SHUPER FUN!

Leesa, no problem. I know it will get here. My MIL sent a package to us for Christmas a few years ago, and it arrived a week late. She mailed it way in advance, too. Sometimes that just happens and there is nothing any of us can do about it. So, why worry, right? I'll just look for it as a New Year present!

Hey Shannon!

Thanks for the compliment on my boys. They are just my entire world! Abby knows cute boys when she sees them! I'm going to have to keep a lock on their windows and a baseball bat by the front door when they are teenagers to keep the girls away.

It's no problem at all, really. Honestly, I have something to look forward to! I haven't opened any of the presents from my mom yet, and Derald didn't get me anything from the boys, so I haven't had any presents to open yet. So it's nice to have those things to look forward to!

OK Lovelies, I am officially going offline, right now. I have to unhook my computer and get it to my dad's house before he has a melt down. His computer guy is coming over to hook it up, so I better make sure I am there.

I'll check back in as soon as I am up and running again! Everyone have a wonderful weekend, and hope to chat soon!

Love you all!

For me, a mini book is about the photos and I do them to commemorate special events or in this case on aspect of a special event. This has to get in the mail, your comments will be appreciated for future endeavors. Leesa, see how easy this is.

This page is just spooky. I thought I had the whole book done, then notice I had skipped a page so I had to add these. Then when I scanned them, I missed the one with the Star Wars box.

Actually the whole project has been a PIA! First when I started I ran out of a toner cartridge (Sunday of course). Got a cartridge, then ran out of photo paper. Ok, bought some of that. Printed a page fine, the next one had wacky colors, out of the other color cartridge. It's just been one of those things. I can't wait to get rid of it!

Well that is why there are millions of pieces of pp! To each there own. I don't know what I would've done with the pp but for you, it was obviously a no-brainer since it fits perfectly!
Sorry it was such a pia for you but it will be loved and appreciated. At least it better be!

Maybe she's trying to see something good. It'd be very hard to put anyone in a home. Fortunately, by the time most people get there, they are not cognizant.

I told my husband that if I ever get Alzheimer to just kill me. Now I'm afraid to forget anything, he'll say oh well, guess it's time.

She did comment on what I wrote and also summed up what you said. It just came out rude I think especially since she titled it, "The Best Bargain."
HA HA! Better start tying ribbons on your fingers...

All kidding aside, J's Grandmother has severe Alzheimers (I know I mentioned it before). I was sitting next to her on Christmas just talking to her about various things. She didn't move or respond or anything. Everyone else kept looking at me and I just said, "Oh, doesn't anyone else talk to her?" Whatever. I'll still talk to her.

Alzheimer's is gotta be one of the worst ways to go.I've known several people who have had family members go that way. It's very tragic.

lesley, yes the iphone is totally cool! i am super happy with it so far, i just love anything Apple, and its been really easy to use so far, so i was surprised about that. it also takes amazing photos for a phone, something im not used to.
my other phone was just about 2 years old, its crazy how technology changes so much in such a little amount of time! my razor is like a dinosaur compared to this thing, i dont really feel worthy!

Lesley - living on an island is a heck of a place to not like boats.

Yes I know, it has come to haunt me many a time, but I'm happy to wait at home and have lunch ready when they get back. Been out a few times on ours but I am scared the whole time, we get huge swells around here and they come up out of the blue before you know it, then you have to bounce across the top of them to get back in.

I'm fine in big boats like Cruise ships, love them, so its just a security thing with me.

Lesley, I am so glad that you liked your stuff! You were so easy to shop for and I finally just had to mail it so that I'd quit buying stuff! Did you like the music card? I love those things! You are so welcome for everything and so absolutely deserving!

Shannon I loved the card...however Murphy didn't, it has a woofing sort of sound to it and he was barking at it big time, so of course he got tormented with it a bit on Xmas day.

That bag is so pretty and will get used every time I go to Hobart, to take my lunch and drink in, plus a whole lot more, I love it and everything else will get put to use, so thank you so much for knowing me and what I like so well.

Yep, that's a pretty good explanation of the sort of boats I like as well Marlene.

Loved you mini book, you've put a lot of work into it and I'm sure its going to be loved, I don't think there is anything I could suggest that would have made it any better, great job and like the hand written personal touch.

The card is great also, very good design.

Well I've just got to pop off for a while now and do a bit of housework, like cleaning 3 bathrooms while kids are away and then fit a walk in before it gets too hot, meant to be over 30 deg today so going to be warm.

then at last its going to be time to set the Cricut up and have a play, or at least try to work it out. When I read the manual it made it seem a lot harder than it looked when Gaelene was using hers but I'm sure it won't be once I actually start using it.

Will check back in on and off.

Here's a good one. My sister bought our mother plane tickets to see her nieces (our cousins) in TX. She planned the dates, saying she would come to pick up mom (5 hours). Now she can"t (doesn't want to) come up here and expects me to drive Mom down there. I am so pissed. Don't make the plan and then expect someone else to carry through.

The Cricut is intuitive and not to worry.
