GUIDELINES:

We all understand that real life can become a pain sometimes and life gets pretty busy...So, if you want to leave the group, Please let us know or PM a driver. There will be no hard feelings!

Due to the amount of scrappers who want to be in an active support group, we only have one "rule" to stay a member and that is...the "posting" rule. (Note: The rest are just guidelines so people know what is going on).

************************* *************************

Posting:

* Please check in at least once a week and say hello and or just let us know you're ok.

* Now, if you're ill, or you're going away etc. and can't get on, we totally understand that, just let us know that you won't be on for a few weeks so we don't worry!

* If a member does not post anything for a month, their spot will be opened up to new members.

************************* *************************

Layouts:

* No specific number required, just post them as you do them!

* If you have a LO you would like to share, please put the link in your post (instead of a general can you look at my gallery). That way we can talk about your latest project together!

* We all love comments, so please make an effort to check out each others galleries.

* When a member posts up a layout, let's all check it out!

* Do not just come here and drop off LO's to get gallery love. (Note: If you are posting for love and don't return love to the others, it leaves a bad feeling about you to the others).

************************* *************************

Challenges:

* We have bi-weekly & monthly challenges!

* It is not compulsory you take part, but we would like to see you participating and being interactive with the group! So, please do take part in the Challenges, Games & Swaps, when you can!

* Anyone is more than welcome to host a challenge! If you would like to do so, please let our Challenge Coordinator know....Also, be sure to let Sarah know, so that she can update the Blog...

http://sassyblingingbabes .blogspot.com.

Note: This way we can keep track of them rather than having to travel back through posts to find them.

* If you have something that you would like to see on the Blog, just let Sarah know!

* If you are going to take part in a challenge, please ensure you can commit to it, all the way through & to the end.

* In the case of any swaps, please ensure that you send along only items of quality, that you yourself would in turn like to recieve! If not, please be aware in advance, that you may be asked to resubmit an item, in the case that it shows a lack of care, quality or effort.

Disclaimer - By all means, please do not fret or be leary of swaps! Just for the record, this has only been known to happen once or twice & has since been resolved!

* Some of our members are overseas, so if project submissions need to be sent to someone by the 25th of the month, please be sure to have it in the mail NLT than the 23rd, etc!

* Also, we do understand that things may pop up to prevent you completing the challenge...However, if this is the case, please be sure to PM the hostess and let her know, in advance!

************************* *************************

Please do not flake.

You have just entered a no-flaking zone & it will not be allowed whatsoever!

************************* *************************

Misc:

* Please do take the time to get to know one another! And in the end, we'll surely become a Fabulous group of friends!!!

I thought I'd better bring this over here, just in case anyone missed it...and also because it's important.

Hi Babes!
Since Chelle is going to take a leave of absence, and we had been planning for her to host the next Challenge, which would be the Valentine ATC Chalenge, I am asking for one of you to step up and host this Challenge in Chelle's place.
If you need to know anything or need any help, have questions or what ever, just PM me and I will answer your questions, and give you all the help I can.
Second thing in order is Challenge RAK winners...Dawn, Candace and myself have talked this over and decided that it would be fair to all the Babes, if we made a rule concerning RAK's.
You will be eligible to win 2 RAK's per year.....this is not to discourage any of the winners from entering, we just want to even the odds for everyone. So, if you have won the quota, please still participate in the Challenges, you just won't be entered in the polls.
Any questions about this, again just ask.
I would also like to take the time to WELCOME our new Babe!!!

I think this group needs some thought provoking questions. So based on Friday Fives, here is a set of 5 questions to ponder:

1. Could you live without your phone (including cell phone) for 1 week for $500?

2. Whom do you talk to on the phone the most?

3. Whom do you no longer talk to on the phone but wish you still did?

4. If you could get ahold of one celebrity phone number, whose digits would you want?

5. Do you talk on the phone more or less than you used to?

Oops, let me redo the questions:

  • sbartist Said:
And one more set of Fives:

1. What was your favorite toy as a child?
I had lots of favorite toys. I fondly remember Barbies and the big house I had that someone gave me. My Mrs. Beasley doll - I loved to wear her glasses and pretend I was a school teacher. The Betty Crocker Easy Bake Oven (I tried to find a similar one on the net), mine sat on the floor and I specifically remember getting in big trouble one year at Christmas when I broke all of my brother's new Tinker Toys. I spent the rest of the holiday in my room and had to eat at my oven and watched all of my cousins sledding down our hill outside my bedroom window. I also remember yanking a tooth out so I could come out of my room. And I had to go look this one up, a Poppity Corn Popper - still love popcorn today and so does my DS.

2. What is your favorite toy now that you're "grown up"?
My scrapbooking toys of course. Haven't yet had an opportunity to really play with the Slice I received and I am waiting for the 2 design cards I ordered too.

3. What is the most dangerous toy you had growing up?
Probably a saucer sledding down the hill. Saucers you sit in, not lie on. What did Bonnie do? I laid on my stomach and went down the hill and of course I am spinning around. What I didn't realize is that someone had parked a sled facing uphill along the side of the road and yep, my face hit the blade and I had to get stitches in between underneath my nose. When I had a bandaid on it looked like I had a mustache.

4. What is the most dangerous toy you have now?
Any scrapbook tool with a blade or my Cutter Bees! Punches can be dangerous too.

5. What one toy do you wish you had/have?
We had limited toys and we played OUTSIDE - imagine that. I had a pretty good imagination since there really weren't many kids around. I played bus stop with my bike. KFC with bricks and water. School. Piano Teacher. We also lived across the street from a lake so I spent hours rowing or swimming in the cove.

Prior to the election because she was wearing a Barack T. And there are several snippets on YouTube.

LISTEN UP ALL YOU AWESOME BABES!! IT'S TIME FOR THE RECIPE SWAP SO....GET EXCITED!!

Sassy Blinging Babes Recipe Swap

I love recipes and cooking so I wanted to host a recipe swap for us Sassy Blinging Babes.
This swap is not mandatory but the more, the merrier (or in this case – yummier!).

This is not a challenge. There will not be any voting. This is simply just for fun so that we can exchange yummy recipes with one another. However, I will send a small RAK to the recipe that I personally think sounds the most delicious.

There will be three recipe categories – Main Dishes, Side Dishes, and Desserts. You must make a recipe for EACH category. This is so we have a nice, thick recipe book and don’t just end up with, for example, ten recipes.

-All “layouts” must be 6x6.
-All recipes must be typed.
-All recipes must say: From the Kitchen of: (Your Name) so that each person will know who the recipe came from.
-You may use as many embellishments or techniques as you wish. These are your recipes – have fun with them!
-You must make a recipe for every person participating in the swap. For example, if ten people are participating in the swap, then you need to make 30 recipe layouts. Ten people x 3 categories = 30 6x6 layouts. This shouldn’t be too hard because there are no pictures involved.

You have until January 12 to sign up. This gives you time to think about this swap and decide which recipes you want to do. Signing up is mandatory so that recipes will not be duplicated. To sign up, PM me with your recipe choice (just the name – not the whole recipe) for each category. Please put “Recipe Swap” in the subject line. If someone has already picked that recipe, I will let you know and ask you to choose another. You may wonder why I don’t just have you sign up here. This is because I don’t want to accidentally overlook your “sign-up.” Once I have received all the sign-ups, I will post a list with everyone’s recipes so you can know what delicious recipes you have to look forward to.

You will be responsible for mailing your recipes to each person in the swap. They must be mailed out no later than March 16. This gives you three months. You can do this, ladies!

If you have any questions, just let me know.

This is also posted on my blog as well as the Sassy Blinging Babes Blog.

For anyone apprehensive about a recipe swap, don't be. I've been in, I think, 6 of them, and once you have the layout worked out, they assemble quickly. Courtney has been in a bunch too.

Thanks for having the due date in March Candace!

I started an etsy store today! I've been meaning to for a few months now, but...

I have one thing listed so far...I'm trying to be practical about it, since I have stuff up on ebay, stuff up on craigslist, am trying to get stuff coordinated for a yard sale this Saturday, and haven't even thought about trying to get started on packing up the house.

Okay, you twisted my wooden spoon, I will join in the recipe swap. I have 2 ideas for recipes, let me think about the 3rd and I will PM you Candace.

And Sarah - if you are going to join us in the recipe swap, would it be easier for you to mail all of your recipes to one person who can then send yours out with theirs? And that person can just send one package to you. I would be more than happy to coordinate that if you would like to save on postage for everyone. Don't want to step on your toes Candace, if you want to do this for Sarah.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to sit out the recipe swap this time around. Right now I have got a horrid cold. (Ended up coming home from work early tonight.) And on top of that I have two major projects due at the same time and I just don't think I could get a third done, too. Ordinarily I would love something like this. Maybe next time I can participate.

1. Could you live without your phone (including cell phone) for 1 week for $500? yes I could live without it

2. Whom do you talk to on the phone the most? my bff, Mellisa or my mom

3. Whom do you no longer talk to on the phone but wish you still did? my middle sister who lives in Reno. Her choice, not mine. I try to call her, she never answers. When she wants to communicate with me she texts me.

4. If you could get ahold of one celebrity phone number, whose digits would you want? I really have no one I want to talk to on the phone that is a celebrity.

5. Do you talk on the phone more or less than you used to? I go in spurts. Relative to everyone else, I don't talk or text alot on my cell. Now at work, UGH I am on phone constantly it seems.

And one more set of Fives:

1. What was your favorite toy as a child?
Lincoln Logs! I could build the grandest cabins!

2. What is your favorite toy now that you're "grown up"? Wii, definitely

3. What is the most dangerous toy you had growing up? well, I am "Miss Cautious" so dangerous toys have never really been something I would have or go near. It's even a family joke!

4. What is the most dangerous toy you have now? see question three, same answer!

5. What one toy do you wish you had/have? do boy toys count? I would really love a pimped out Mac computer!

Morning babes! I'm so tired this morning.
Rhonda~ I know what you mean about not knowing what you are doing. Sometimes Hubby will say we are going to town, but then he keeps doing other stuff and when I ask about it, he gets annoyed because he wants to go whenever he is ready. I like to know what time, so I can get Chase and I ready.

Noelle~ Glad to see you are up and moving around and the stitches are out. You'll be feeling better in no time now, just don't over do it!

OK ladies, it's off to work I go. Hope you all have a great day.

Ria - I hope you feel better soon!

Hi Cyndi!

Shannon - Have a good day at work! Hi Chase!

I am feeling MUCH better today but last night I had a horrible migraine...to the point where I was vomiting. I was miserable. I don't get them like that very often but when I do, they're awful. Anyway, like I said, I'm all better.

I'm glad to see some of you are interested in the recipe swap. I don't think it will be so bad. I'm really looking forward to it. I've already decided on my recipes.

I'm going today to the school disctrict to talk to that lady that offered me a job. I hope it goes well.

I hope everyone has a great day!

ok real post!

Melissa - welcome to the group!!!!! Hope you enjoy it. My b-day is June 27th party time! your little girl is absolutely precious.

Candace - I'm on the fence with the recipe swap. I'll let you know if I decide to jump in.

Noelle - I'm so glad your recovery is going well!!! You continue to be in my thoughts & prayers.

Rhonda - I'm a planner too. It would drive me crazy...

Shannon - I second the tired thing. I love that Chase called us the Sissy babes lol

Dawn - wow woman, you can function on 5 hours of sleep?? I admire anyone that can...I'm an 8-9 hours girl. If i don't get a full nights sleep, I'm pretty much useless.

Ria - hope you get over your cold soon! Do you use Zicam? I swear by the stuff...get the nose swabs one. I'm coming out of my cold already (3 days). It makes them go faster, and less severe.

Story of a Broken Camera
On the evening of Janyary 3, 2009, I had turned my camera on to take a picture....when I turn it on, the gears activate and the lens comes out. I promptly dropped it on the hard Dining Room floor, and it went bezerk, making all kinds of really sad death noises.....It was taking it's last gasping breath I'm sure. I tried everything, changing batteries, passed it to Jason (the camera expert) and to no avail....it was pronounced dead!
I have been distraught...tho I dont really love my camera and want a better one, it had served me well, and was the only one I had.
I have picked it up every morning searching for a sign of life, but nothing, the lens is stuck out, and it makes a sad little noise, and nothing else, no lights anymore, just death.
This morning as I sat at the computer, I picked it up once more, contemplating on throwing it in the trash, which I knew would bring tears. I threw it on the floor, in anger, to let it know that it had really broken my heart, by letting me down, and anger at my self for dropping it in the first place, ( the carpeted floor ) and low and behold...it came back to life!
My Camera Lives Again!!!

When I was a teen, I had a tee that said "Boys are from the stupid factory". I really loved that tee.

Yeah. This man at work always says boys are stupid and men are pigs...except for the one that just proposed to me! I thought he would wait a few weeks to surprise me. At least that's what he said he wanted to do. But apparently, he was very impatient. That's good...cause so was I! So we went and ate lunch today and when we got back to my house he proposed!!! My ring is so beautiful. I can't stop looking at it and I cannot stop smiling! I am so happy.

My Engagement Ring By Candylou
That's my ring. I copied it from the store's website. I tried taking a pic of it on my hand but it came out all fuzzy. That internet picture doesn't do it justice. It's much more sparkly in real life!!
