Welcome to the Leopard Lounge! This is a chat thread for the participants of the last Secret Sister's swap.

I have plans of starting a new swap on April 15th, but if you don't want to get involved in that we will be hosting our own mini challenges, swaps, etc. within this group. Or you're welcome to just hang out and chat!

Leopard Lounge Challenge #1:
1) Since this is a lounge, I thought we would have some music playing. So, chose one of these songs as the title for your LO:
-Sweet Child 'O Mine
-Sweet Dreams(Are Made of This)
-Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
-(I've Had) The Time of My Life
-Take My Breath Away
2) I also want to see (4) different kind of stars on your LO. Any kind: patterned paper , brads, stamps, die cuts, hand drawn doodles, etc.

Due Date: You have until midnight(Central Time) on Thursday, March 19th to post your LO in the gallery and link it here. On Friday, March 20th, I'll draw a name from the entries and that person can hostess the next challenge.

Prize: I'll go shopping this weekend and find something sparkly for the winner.

Can't wait to see how creative you ladies can be.

We can invite more ladies as we go along, but for now this is it. As I said, I am not finished inviting!!! I have 60+ participants to go through!!

LEOPARD LOUNGE CHALLENGE #2
Everyone has a secret celebrity boyfriend -- you know, that celeb you're allowed to cheat on your significant other with, just in case you happen to run into him or her at your local cafe. (Yes, we all saw that episode of Friends, too. And Entourage.) Full disclosure: My first celebrity crush was and still is Brad Paisley, the country singer. I used to dream that he'd move in next door to me, and we'd be best friends, and then ... a little bit more. Ahem. What can I say? LOL

Then I grew up, and never got over my Paisley crush. My point is: We've got needs. Celebrity needs. So in the interest of revealing a little bit more about ourselves, I came up with this challenge, (while slobbering over Brad's pic; prominently on display on my bedroom mantle) so that we will be sharing our own celebrity crushes with each other. Who's your secret celebrity crush, and why? C'mon, I spilled my guts; now it's your turn.

HERE ARE THE RULES:

1) SCRAP YOUR CRUSH - IT CANNOT BE YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER! DURING THIS CHALLENGE, YOU ARE CHEATING ON THEM!! IT MUST BE A CELEBRITY, NO MATTER HOW WELL KNOWN OR FAMOUS.

2) IT'S GOTTA BE A BRAND SPANKIN' NEW LO!!

And that's it! Easy, right??

HERE IS THE TWIST (YOU KNEW IT WAS COMING)!

~ Include a picture of yourself in the layout

You will get an extra vote for including the twist!!

THIS CHALLENGE WILL RUN FROM MARCH 21ST TO APRIL 21ST

AT THE END OF THE CHALLENGE, I WILL DRAW NAMES. WHOMEVER I DRAW WILL GET A BOX OF GOODIES FROM MY STASH.

If you don't have any pictures of your celebrity, try googling "________ _________ photos". I used a Hugh Laurie wallpaper that I found on Google Images for one of my layouts (also drool worthy). They tend to print better than a small pic.

Any questions, PM me! And remember, if you get a comment, RETURN A COMMENT!! Share the lovin'! Just link your layout to this thread, and I will add it to the first post!!!

_________________________ ________________________

KATE THE AWESOME'S CHALLENGE:

1. the LO must include more than 2 pictures
2. Must inlcude 2 DIFFERENT types of embelishments- one should be a heart and the other of your choice.
3. the word LOVE must be included in the LO somewhere.
4. must be a NEW LO
5. HAVE FUN!

PINK CHALLENGE
The due date is April 3, 2009 at 12:00a.m. I will draw a name out of a hat out of all the people who participated!

then I will send a prize!

1. Your LO MUST have the color pink in it (of course)

2. One or more item(S) must be distressed

3. The title for this lo is TICKLED PINK

4. The LO must be new!

That is it...I hope that is an okay challenge!

It is due on April 23, 2009 at 12 midnight... I will draw out of a hat on the 24th and announce the winner. I'm giving you all a little extra time past the two weeks because I hope a lot of people enter. Anyone who enters, I will send out a small RAK to, and a big one to the winner! I want it to be fun!! And pink!!

Hey Betty,

I watched American Idol, remind me again which one Adam was? I don't really remember any of their names yet, but if you describe him, I'll give you the update.

I don't know what a COF is either.

A COF is a Circle of Friends. It's a private message among gals, so we can gossip in private without people seeing what we discuss between ourselves. Believe me, I've got a gal who reads everything I type in my posts, so a COF is a great idea to keep it private. The drawback is that the pm only allows 15 participants.

Hi Paula

Adam is the one who has real black hair, he young, he looks like a rocker, and he has a amazing voice, He reminds me of another David Cook!! David won Idol last year. I voted for David Cook last year!! If I wasn't on 2nd shift I be voting for Adam.

The talent was pretty good last night!

Okay, I'm marking my spot here. Not in the swap but I am tuning in for the chat fest. Good to see all you lovelies over here. Nobody ever told me the proper spelling for that one. Is it:
Lovelies---vote yes or no
Lovely's---vote yes or no

In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks about women over 40:

60 Minutes Correspondent Andy Rooney (CBS)

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.

Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk, if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

Here's a little story to make all you ladies know your worth. If you're not over 40 yet, you will be. So all you younguns just hold on. You'll soon be as awesome as we are. LMAO!!!

Here's a little story to make all you ladies know your worth. If you're not over 40 yet, you will be. LOL!!

OMG....Deb I love this....this is sooooo true ladies, isn't it.....TFS...

That sounds like a GOOD idea! I might have to try that. Right now I made them all lay down, and I went to do laundry(and of course hide in here until someone screams for me again.)

Since several people have mentioned chatting getting in the way of scrapping what if we post some challenges here in this thread for our little group? I was thinking I might post a challenge each week. We can post our LOs here. I'll put all the names of everyone who completes a LO for the week and follows the rules into a jar and let my kids draw a name for a small scrapping goodie. Anyone interested? Would Fridays be a good day to post a challenge and have all week to complete it?

Faith I think that is an awesome idea. each person could send a few things to add to a goodie box and whoevers name gets pulled gets something from the goodie box. just an idea.

Or, so we don't all have to pay postage every month, each month someone else can pick and mail the prize. We will all do that right? Got rid of all the flakers???

Or, Maybe even each month someone can pick what the challenge is going to be. and mail the prize for that challenge so 1 person like Faith doesn't have to do it every month. If the next person in line does not commit by say the 3rd of the month, it goes on to the next person. Does sound good to you Faith, and you other lovelies?

I like all these ideas, especially yours Deb! That way everyone gets to be hostess and the expense is spread amongst us. I've never hosted anything like that before but I'd be happy to learn!

I think it is a good idea too but how would we split it up because we have 20 people I dont think everyone would want to keep up with it for almost two year

That's true, unless we do it maybe in 2wk intervals. It doesn't take a month to do a LO. Well, unless you're on here all day. LOL!!

Mailman just came with some good news! I got the results of my first over 50's free mammogram that I had two weeks ago. I've never had one before so I was a bit nervous about what might have been lurking there. It was all clear and they'll send me a reminder in 12 months to have another!

Good evening LL's........I love all the ideas of doing the challenge thing and each of us taking turns hosting...this way you don't have to participate in all of them either...ya know, in case someone gets sick or has an illness in the family or goes on vacation etc....

The added bonus....we'll all actually get some scrapping done....LOL!!!!!

so TEX i think that is a fantastic idea--i also agree with doodles--take turns so the burden isnt on one---and kate---2yrs--who the h e double hockey sticks knows whats gonna happen in 2 hours--LOL----

and i agree with Patti----maybe one month i might not want to do it-----but of course if it were my turn to host and send goodies---i would do that--but maybe 1 month i am not feeling the scrap come on--or i got other stuff going on--or i am just plain lazy--it would be whoever finishes their project by a deadline--------i told ya girls--i am in with whatever you want to do--just let me know

Tex--since this was your great idea--maybe you should get the ball rolling and your thinking cap on and let us know.

The challenge sounds like a good idea. TX can start it, can buy the treat for the winner. At the end, the winner can host the next month and buy the treat for the winner, then the next month the next winn.. well you know where I'm going with this....

How is everyone tonight?

I agree that in order for all of us to take a turn hosting...every two weeks would probably be the best way....that was one reason why I said that one might want/need to sit out a challenge....for me anyway, I think I'm a very slowwww scrapper, much like our last thread.....slowwwwww....anyway, I take almost a week to do a lo, at least one that I would want to enter into a challenge...LOL

That sounds like a good plan. Can we do it every 2 weeks though so we can get more challenges in?
Huh? Huh? Can we, Huh?

welp--what if the same person keeps winning?? i know i aint gonna win---i am a participant--LOL--see........someone once asked me my scrapbooking style---well, my style is--slap as many pictures on there as i can to tell my story--throw some blingy things around--put as much tape on the thing as i possilby can--maybe some ribbon---and POOF--there it is. The ONLY layout i EVER did with one pic is mine of lola----i dont know--maybe i am lazy or cheap--dont know which--but i just cant feel like i get my story with one picture

but..........i do love to look at everyone elses fancy dancy artistic layouts--that is where i got my inspiration for the ONE picture lo of lola
