I was re-organizing the scrap area and I had to laugh when I realized just how many tools I need right at my fingertips to have "flow", mine below , curious as to what everyone else just has to have in arms reach - keep in mind this does not include all the embellies, inks etc.!!

With in arms reach..
My MM paper cutter
a clear quilters ruler ( I can't live with out those, I have 4 of them)
Pens and pencils
craft knife
My inks
all my adhesives
Everythig else is pretty close, and my chair has wheels, but if the things above aren't right there, forget scrapping, I'll find something else to do!

You will all think I am insane.. but I don't have hardly any fancy tools.

I have

a cutting mat
ruler
rotary cutter
scissors
craft knife

those are my basic/go to tools.

I don't have a paper trimmer (I use the ruler/rotary cutter -- which is easier to me)

I have no die cutting machines (although I would like to have a cuttlebug)

As far as the other things that are close at hand

Glue Dots
double sided tape
pop dots

I'm really new to this so I don't have much yet, but I couldn't do any work without my:

computer
scanner
printer
xacto knife, cutting mat & clear ruler (not crazy about this sytem but it's what I already had in the house, I haven't had a chance to pick up a real paper trimmer yet!)
photo splits (double-sided tape squares, I did a product search but couldn't find them)
ZIG glue pen

I just use a cutting mat, lay the paper down, line it up, use a ruler and then a rotary cutter.

All my tools came from the quilting supply department in the store. I get straight cuts every time

Then again, this is what I grew up using when I would help my mom - she is a quilter... it's a lot harder to get straight cuts this way with fabric (at least for me) so paper seems like no big deal to get a straight cut.

Here are my tools..

Rotary cutter

cutting mat

And just a straight edge ruler although I just ordered this one the other day... OmniEdge non slip ruler

Here are some... I have the Tweezer Bee tweezers but these look the same. They are non stick & I use them to hold everything. I don't have the pink scissors but have gray ones. My Tonic trimmer is a guilletine one. I love it dearly! Sometimes I need my Fiskars straight trimmer.

I used the same cutting system for years, and still do quite often. Sometimes it's easier, and more reliable.

Besides my tub of punches (which are right behind where I stand) I keep on my table; a stapler, #2 pencil, a Bates Mfg. metal 12" ruler, a heavy-duty guillotine trimmer from Office Depot, little Fiskar's Micro-tipped scissors, and the below right within reach, as they are my must haves (I really do use all of the different adhesives consistently):
