O.K. here are the Flapper lyrics:
Sung to the tune of "The Rapper" by The Jaggerz
Original idea by Tony Spinelli
New lyrics by Piratefan21 (Tracey)

Hey girl, I bet you
There's someone out to get you.
You'll find her anywhere
In New York, or Alaska, or Mississippi.
She'll say "Excuse me, wouldn’t you like to chat with me?"

Flapper, flapper, flap, they call us the Flappers.
Flap, flap, flap you know what we’re after.

So, she starts her flappin'
Hoping someone is postin’
She'll say she needs you,
A companion, a friend she can talk to.
She's made up her mind.
She needs someone to scrap with.

Flapper, flapper, flap, they call us the Flappers.
Flap, flap, flap you know what we’re after.

She's made an impression,
So she makes a suggestion.
"Come over to my place
For some scrapping or chocolate or wine."
She's got you where she wants you.
Girl, you're gonna have a really great time!

Flapper, flapper, flap, they call us the Flappers.
Flap, flap, flap you know what we’re after.

Flapper's Theme Song by Raquel's DH:

Oh geez ----- dh is sitting here singing a song, and he dedicated it to us. Anybody remember the song from like the 70's maybe, and it went like this:

Rap, Rap, Rap,
They call him The Rapper;
Rap, Rap, Rap,Rap, Rap
He knows what he's after;

Well, DH is singing it to:
Flap, Flap, Flap,
They call 'em the Flappers;
Flap, Flap, Flap, Flap, Flap
She knows what she's after;

Sigh, he's got another verse.

FFFFF
They'll play with their scrapbooks,
FFFFF
And then send their cookbooks,
FFFFF

good night nurse!

Henri Jean ~Profile

1. (Name) Henri (I'm named after my father who was Henry - with a "y") A lot of people ask if it Henrietta and it is just Henri.

2. (From) Born near Mobile Alabama but we live in Ocala, FL.

3. (Age) I am 63 - the "old lady" in the group.

4. (Marital Status) Married to the love of my life since 2009 but he was my teenage sweetheart. Got mad at him and broke up with for 38 years. I tell him, "Don't make me mad again because you don't have 38 more years and neither do I!"

5. (Career) Licensed realtor in Florida and Georgia but am mostly retired now so I can travel with my retired husband.

6. (What I scrapbook) My husband and our romantic journey together and the humor we share in life. Things about our life together that make me laugh or smile.

7. (Favorite color) Depends on what it is. I'm quite fond of yellow and green and teal and pink. I just don't have a favorite. It depends on the shade mostly and what the item is. Lately though, seems a lot of my purchases are pink.

8. (Favorite animal) Sea turtles, although I don't want one - they get huge! But they fascinate me, especially after Bill and I worked for 2 weeks in Cancun on the baby sea turtle rescue program. I also love seahorses and would actually like to have an aquarium someday with seahorses. I just don't want to take care of it. Most of my adult life I have had cats and I love them but don't want to have to ever change another litter box.

9. (Favorite food) Lobster, and anything with enough sugar in it. I love pizza from Fiero's here in Ocala. I love shrimp almost any way you prepare it and sweet corn. And potatoes.... so many ways to prepare potatoes. Fudge and chocolate goes on the list, as wells mangoes. And right now I would love a nice tender filet from Ruth's Chris - medium rare please and a side of their sweet potato casserole.

For the short list, ask me what foods I don't like.

10. (Favorite item if you were stuck on a deserted island) Aside from my husband (who really is quite an item), definitely my camera, followed by books. Oh, gotta have my computer... now I just need somewhere to plug it in! Since it is an imaginary desert island - may I order imaginary electricity?

RockStar ~Profile

Hi, I'm Raquel, aka 'Rocky' IRL. I'm a 54 year old retired flight attendant and transplanted New Yorker, now living in Delaware with DH and working part-time at the local casino. We have 2 daughters, both grown and gone plus one 5 yr old grandson. No pets, and I have all 3 sb stores here in town; J's, M's and AC's.

My birthday is June 26, 1958.

I'm a 'New Yorican', born in Puerto Rico but raised in New York. I scrap and craft alone, and being an only child, I like it, although I do love to socialize and do my learning right here.

I make cheesecakes, enjoy entertaining and party planning, drink my coffee through a straw, am ocd in certain areas, and enjoy sharing personal drama with my besties, because life events can be either funny or relevant to whatever.

1) Favorite color - I love sunny yellow bedrooms and summer dresses or a white one too but I live in white cotton tee shirts with jeans or gym clothes. And although I mostly don't enjoy dressing up, once in your life you should have the perfect red dress and red shoes - I already have so I never have to do it again. I only buy black or red cars, alternating.

2) Favorite Animal - I have a thing for wolves and in fact stayed at a wolf sanctuary over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2011. Made a whole scrapbook about the experience.

3) Favorite all time food - I can't, I have so many ... but If I have to pick my absolute that I couldn't live without, that I could eat every single day for a month, then I'd say pizza, NY style, but Chicago style is good too.

4) What to have with me on a desert island - assuming I have food, well then my laptop - with that I would have access to books, information, communication and entertainment.

5) Working on right now - I've recently started branching out into other creative areas, such as distressing and repurposing furniture. I just finished redecorating the guest room to have a shabby chic look and did a dresser and accent table and some other small, decorative pieces, and am currently working on a project which must remain secret for the moment since it's going to be my gifts for The Feast of the 3 Kings this coming January 2013. My next project will be to tile a small area of backsplash in my kitchen.

bwinkler / Bethany aka B ~Profile

1. What is your first name? Bethany

2. Where are you from? Anchorage AK

3. Age?- 30... I'm the young one of the group it seems!

4. Briefly describe your family situation. Been married 4 years to my husband, Dustin. We are currently working on saving to buy a house. Then we will start trying to have kids!

5. What do/did you do for a living? I work at a local hospital as a nurse in Day Surgery. I love my job and am glad I went into nursing.

6. What is your favorite subject to scrap? Friends and family. Anything I have pictures of really.

7. Are you working on anything currently? Currently I am working on 2011 and at this time our Flappers trip to Dover, DE in Sept of 2011.

8. Do you scrap mostly alone or with groups? And are you lucky enough to live close to any hobby/craft/scrapbooking stores? I live a minute and half away from M's. I have a Joann’s about 10 min away. M’s is too close so I shop alot... too much actually! I scrap alone. I don't know anyone in town that scraps and I'm kind of nervous to try a crop for the simple reason that I don't feel my LO's fit in with everyone else's. I love my work though.

9. Come up with one more interesting/memorable fact about you: I absolutely love playing sports especially softball and being in the sun.

1) Favorite Color? Pink
2) Favorite Animal? dolphin
3) Favorite all time food? The one you could eat over and over for ever. Mexican
4) If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only have one thing what would it be? Dora’s backpack…. Because she has everything!!

Amesl / Amy aka Ames ~Profile

My name is Amy. Everybody calls me Ames.

I am from Oregon.

I am 32.

I have a furbaby boy Chihuahua.

I am in the medical field but I'll leave it at that because it bothers some people.

My favorite things to scrap are concerts and shows that I go to. My friend and I have been trying to get to more of these things lately, our goal is at least 1/mo. Other than that the dog, but he's getting a little boring because all of his pics are starting to look the same.

I am not working on anything right now but hope to do a LO this weekend of our May event that is tomorrow. Yay! I'm just crossing my fingers that we can use our cameras.

I always scrap alone. I don't know anyone else who does it and I don't think I could do it with others anyway. I don't like people to see anything until I think it's done and I kind of like my space when I'm trying to focus on something. Like Bethany, I don't think my LOs would quite fit in either.

I am between a J's and M's and another big craft store that I actually like a lot better. I recently found 2 LSSs near me but I haven't gone inside yet. I'm scared that I will not want to leave.

One more interesting thing about me, hmmm....Even people who have known me very well for years have never noticed until recently that I have very green eyes. They admit that because I'm half Asian they just assumed they are brown. When they do notice, they insist that they're contacts because of how green they are. I'm Irish as well so I also have freckles.

Oh, and I love watching Food Network and collecting recipes from anywhere but very rarely cook.

1) Favorite color? Purple
2) Favorite animal? Elephant if we're talking any animal. If it's one to own, dog.
3) Favorite food? OMG that's tough! I'll just go w/ my craving right now....some Thai curry. I guess my second would be the potato. I love it any way it's cooked.
4) One thing I'd have on a deserted island? Music.

Stick - Kara ~Profile

1. What is your first name? Kara

2. Where are you from? San Francisco

3. Age?- if you dare. In my 40s and not too happy about it, lol.

4. Briefly describe your family situation. (Don't leave off mention of the furbabies if you have). It's just DH and me, wheeee! No kids by choice. Some nephews and a niece but happily distant enough that babysitting is not an option.

5. What do/did you do for a living? Data analyst.

6. What is your favorite subject to scrap? Everything DH and I do.

7. Are you working on anything currently? As always I'm a few vacations behind

8. Do you scrap mostly alone or with groups? And are you lucky enough to live close to any hobby/craft/scrapbooking stores? Alone, I do everything better alone (having DH around is good). I mostly shop online.

9. Come up with one more interesting/memorable fact about you. Just one? I also make quilts, I love to cook, I have had professional training as a jeweler, and I get totally obsessive with my interests and hobbies. Also I'm reliving my childhood and scrapbooking is sharing equal time with video games.

1) Favorite Color? Pink. Blue is a close second - my favorite color of nailpolish is blue (except for toes, that's hot pink). And red is an absolute necessity at times - every woman needs at least one good pair of red shoes and a red bag ... actually I feel the same way about gold, too. And I'm becoming quite fond of white. I could go on .... I just love color!
2) Favorite Animal? Bear.
3) Favorite all time food? The one you could eat over and over for ever. Raw tuna. Cheese. Eggs. Duck. YUM!
4) If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only have one thing what would it be
I want my DH, I would need sunscreen desperately (I burn with anything less than 50), and I would really like a good laptop with internet access. Actually, this sounds like heaven, sign me up!!

sbartist / bonnie ~Profile

1. What is your first name? bonnie

2. Where are you from? Born in Tacoma, WA (raised in Spanaway) and recently moved to Honolulu, Hawaii

3. Age?- if you dare. Born in '63.

4. Briefly describe your family situation.
Married to Craig, celebrated our 8th anniversary this year. My son is 19 years old (from a prior marriage), and works full-time at the company my DH does. No furbabies, not allowed to have pets in the condo we live in.

5. What do/did you do for a living? I am a legal assistant for a downtown Honolulu law firm.

6. What is your favorite subject to scrap?
Probably vacations, because you generally do a variety of things while on vacation as opposed to sports books (however, I work on those too).

7. Are you working on anything currently? Finishing up a 2011 Hawaiian vacation, 2012 One Little Word Project, and projects to give away as gifts or home decor.

8. Do you scrap mostly alone or with groups? And are you lucky enough to live close to any hobby/craft/scrapbooking stores? I used to have dedicated space in my home to scrap and I enjoy scrapping with others. We now have a much smaller home, but I still manage to scrap when we are not hanging at the beach.

9. Come up with one more interesting/memorable fact about you. I have been scrapbooking since I was in Jr.HS back in the mid-70's.

1) Favorite Color? Purple
2) Favorite Animal? Dog
3) Favorite all time food? Chinese, Mexican or a good juipy (that's what DS used to say when he was little) burger.
4) If you were stuck on a deserted island and could only have one thing what would it be? DS's answer is as much TP as he would ever need and I told him he could use leaves. And we do live on an island in the middle of the Pacific ~ Aloha ~

This is one of my all time favorite layouts! I posted it last night but it got buried in minutes with all the talk of the new board. I really wanted to see what y'all thought of it (I'm from the south - I was born in Alabama - I can say y'all and get by with it because we talk that way!)

We found a wonderful antique mall in Salt Lake City. On the side of the building the end of a real car sticks out and the building is painted and designed to look like it crashed. One one side is a painted police officer and a couple fighting is painted on the wall on the other side.

Bill went over a pretended to be talking to the police office painted on the wall and on the labels we are all blaming each other for the "accident".

We were in Salt Lake City for a license plate convention and Bill and his sister would not let us block the license plate in any of the pictures!

Bill and I are in the bottom picture!

Here is my suggestion plus a couple comments for the other comments on the othe thread!
I think we should all have a contact list/birthday list/emergency contact list. That way not one person is responsible for trying to figure out where people are if we get worried. I think this list should consist of Name (First/last), address, phone number, birthday, email, emergency contact. I don't think we should open this to anyone, thus the closed sign! I think we should continue as we were in our old group posting lo's as we get them done and chatting as we can keep up. I love this group!~!

Ames... You and my husband would get along great! He loves horror movies. I will watch them but don't really like them. The ones I really don't like and refuse to watch are the ones that could potentially be real and happen in real life. That freaks me out. *Dont tell Dustin I said I would watch them, cause I refuse when he asks!* Your picture turned out good too.... beautiful! And I'm so proud you figured out how to embedd.

Henri... those pictures of the mountain turned out awesome. You do such a good job taking pictures of things. You are one that has a nack for picture taking.

Good Morning/Afternoon to the rest of you!

Shirely enjoy NY... one day I'm going to actually go into the city. I have driven through NY state but never stopped anywhere.

RS... I'm going to storten your rocky star to rock star! Seems very fitting to me! Especially since you were rockin' out to music cleaning the bathroom.

I'm here all day.... well until 5 my time. Today is going to be great. NO bosses and tonight is softball. Hopefully the team we are supposed to play will show up this time! Wahoo! I'm so excited... and it's gorgeous outside.

I love it.... The pictures are priceless. When I find goofy things like this and we are out and about I like to take pictures with the statues or paintings. When I was in Boston there was a statue of a huge man walking and a friend of mine grabbed his hand and pretended to walk with him. We had a ball! I can't remember if I scraped my boston trip. Hmmm... i'm going to my gallery now!

It doesn't look like if I scrapped it I have downloaded pictures. That will be my task either today before our game or tomorrow after work. Now i'm really curious!

I agree with you 100% B! Since it's closed to just the 8 of us, I'm totally for all of us having the information - but absolutely respect if anybody needs to keep their privacy. We'll see how everybody else feels about it as we go along.

Ames!! Congratulations - if I could learn to embed I knew you could too!

Henri - stunning photos!

I like horror movies, but honestly only the classics like Aliens my all time fave, Halloween the original and I have a sort of a thing for werewolves so original Werewolf and werewolf movies in general.

It finally stopped raining and is gorgeous here too - I know Shirley is having a great day today, it's just perfect out.

I need to be getting on the road in about 1/2 hour to make my alzheimer's (aka The Big A) support group but I'll be back later on tonight. My job is done here, and for once it will be easy to find where I left off -
Page 1!!

Whether you call me Rockstar, Star, Jersey, Raquel or Rocky, I'll answer, it's all good.

Gotta put the bathroom back together before I leave so I'll talk to ya'll tonight - have fun a the game tonight B!

If anyone wants to change any of the info in their bio information in the 2nd post, let me know and it can be edited.

If you all want to PM me this info, I will put it together and then send out an email with the info once it is complete.

Name (first and last)
mailing address
phone number
emergency contact name/number
Spouse's name
Date of birth (we don't need the year, but if you want to include it, I will)
email address

If there is any add'l info you want included on the master list, let me know and we can add it.

Is anyone willing to be the co-driver of this group? That way someone else can also make changes to any postings made by "Flappers".

Thanks ladies.

Bethany and Raquel - could you send some of your nice weather here. We have been looking a gray skies and rain for 3 days now. I can't even take my new layouts outside to take pictures.

Working on my Valentine one that I'm kind of stumped on - mentioned that in the other thread I think. I don't think it was here. I'm going to put some effort into that today.

Seems I am stopped all over the place waiting or either custom die cuts or custom papers, but still getting a lot done. I'm glad that Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Arica Chile and on other county is complete. Then after the cruise is through I have Hawaii to scrap from this year, Las Vegas from that week, although I didn't take many pictures this time, our time in California at Bill's daughter's wedding, and the trip home.

Lots to do to finish all that. By the time I'm finished with all that I should have all my past stuff current here.

I like the old Mummy and Frankenstein and classic horror flicks but do not like the blood and guts of the newer stuff. I don't like the teen horror flicks like Freddy Kruger stuff at all.

And I definitely don't like stuff that could be real - the kind of stuff that gives you nightmares.

Bill may not believe in the supernatural and thinks I'm silly, but I have a healthy respect for what I don't understand.

Another layout - then I'm running to Michaels or Joannes to get more black paper for matting and papers to match a sunset taken in Lima Peru. Then I have to go to Office Depot and see if I can copy that menu on photo paper.

Won't be gone too long. I half tempted to go to Bed Bath and Beyond to get some more kitchen canisters to match what I'm using now.

I had them labeled professionally and they say, "Self Rising Flour, All purpose Flour, Bread Flour, Cake Flour, Self-Rising Cornmeal, and Sugar."

Griffins, who did my custom labels is closing and won't do anymore custom labels so I will probably get new canisters for cookies and things to match, but not label them. You will be able to see inside of them. I just labeld the others because all the different kinds of flour would get mixed up.

Oh - I almost forgot to post the layout. Here it is (not my favorite, but it is okay).

We spent the night in the Moose suite - AGAIN - on FE Warren AFB in Cheyenne and visited the original pony express station in Nebraska. It's not a terribly exciting layout, but we had fun. We always do.

Henri it sounds like you need to invest in a cricut or a slice or something like that. A slice is on my xmas list for this year. I know it's a ways away but I'm horrible because I can never come up with anything for xmas. I was interested in a cricut but they are way too expensive and then each time you want a cartridge it's another $90. The slice looks awesome, small and it's cheeper. Plus you don't have to spend an arm and leg for the cartridges.

I looked into a slice but you can't weld letters together and that is what I'm really looking for.

I'm very sloppy and individual letters so I don't even try to use them anymore. I've wasted so many letter stickers, peeled them off and threw them away.

I've lined them up perfectly, so it isn't that, I just like the welded letters better and I can only do that with a cricut.

I need to keep looking for a Cricut on ebay.

The "Nebraska" is welded and I just like that welded look!

The price of the Cricut cartridges concerned me, but I only need one cartridge with a font I like. I don't need all the pictures and things - i don't want to buy cartridges for a picture I will use once. Great if I made cards and would use it over and over, but I don't so it isn't worth it to me to have more than one cartridge with letters I really like.

Another thing I like - with the Design package on Cricut I can use the computer disk, hook it up to the Criacut and do all the work on the computer screen. That allows me to maniuplate the words and how I want to space them.

I think the only reason I haven't gotten on is total fear of leaning something new!

I never thought about that. I like the welded together look too, but am not willing to spend that kind of money and I don't even know if I'll use it for what it's intended for. I wish it wasn't so expensive and big. I'm still debating though since I won't be paying for it myself.

I go back and forth on it too, but since I really want to do the welded letters, that is the best option for me.

I changed my office completely around last week and put an 8' work table in here for my scrap stuff. I did that with the idea in mind that I will someday get a Cricut. The price is just holding me back right now, although some go for a good price on ebay - way below the store prices and they are new.

I am not really sure about ebay but maybe I will look into it. I just would really like to play with both and see what I like better but I don't know anyone here who has them.

During dictation my boss keeps skipping around, very frustrating. I only have about 11 minutes (read about 20 minutes of transcription) left, but it is the back and forth that takes longer, because I have to go search where to input it.

Vent over...

That does sound frustrating... kind of reminds me of doctors handwriting!

Why do you love the die you mentioned so much. Pros/cons?

Probably because I have such a large collection of dies. I like to be able to take them with me if I scrap on the go, although I am running out of room in my one tote, so I am bound to start another (and with all of them combined they do get rather heavy).

Because I like to paper piece (which I haven't done in quite awhile), I can use bits and pieces to make what I need.

My boss is reading through medical records, so that is what I am typing, lots of medical terminology.

Our LSS is having a Cricut class coming up but I don't think I will be in town when they have it. DARN.

They had a Cricut swarm the day after I got home which I didn't find out about until after the fact. They had 30 ladies bring in thier Cricuts to play with them together. DARN for missing that too.

Well, have been planning to run errands for hours. Guess I'd better start moving in that direction.

Yes, they can take hours. A couple years ago I made several different ones as Christmas gifts, that is why there are a lot of snowmen samplers if you check out my gallery.

Hey Kara - glad you found us!!! I don't think anyone is posting on the old thread any more - it's history.

Here's another layout, not great, but it is my husband and my son and a family friend in our pool.

Busy, but it's starting to calm down. Plus side - I started early so I can leave early. Negative side - I never really wake up completely if I have to get up too early. Double plus side - I'm hoping I can pick up my new Nintendo DS today!!

I love welded letters, too - but I'm doing it old school, creating in photoshop and cutting it out with an xacto blade.

Yes, I have to have two separate accounts - I will give you the info on the Flapper user name when I send you info.

Unfortunately, you can have 2 windows open at one time, BUT you are the same person under each one. I can't be sbartist in one and flappers in another. Grrrr

I am going to try and use "flappers" only for administrative stuff.

That is so confusing! Thanks for doing it for all of us.

Later today I will go into galleries and leave love again. I do it right away when layouts are left here becasue it is so easy, but as far as actually going though galleries, I set off blocks of time and do that becuase once I get going with that I don't like to stop.

I need to go get more cardstock and see about getting a copy of a menu made in glossy before I can go any further!

If i want to scrap this afternoon or tonight I'm going to have to brave the weather.

It slowed down to a sprinkle for 5 minutes, but now coming down wth a vengeance again.

Will post more of the other scrapbook pages. I think I only have one or two more pages and then I'm in the Hawaii scrapbook for last Aug-Sept.

I was so excited when I moved to Florida and we bought this house - there is a Meyer lemon tree right off the back patio. I can pick lemons without stepping off the patio!

We moved into the house in June and had a tree of green lemons. They didn't turn all yellow until around Christmas! I was so impatient, but we have lemon juice in the freezer now to last all winter.

Hi, Flappers!

Bonnie, thanks so much for getting all of this straightened out! Those quilted pages are wonderful. You should put up instructions on how to do that.

Those of you who were talking about electronic cutting machines - I definitely would get one that connects to the computer. I have one and you can use any font and make your own designs or download designs. I got mine mostly to cut fabric letters for banners that I make, but will be using it for scrapbooking once ds is done with homeschool. I don't like the idea of having to buy a cartridge every time I want a different font!

Ds and I had a great afternoon. He had an orthodontist appt. and we took the bus there, but decided to walk home (about 3 miles). It's a beautiful day here!

I never saw the words great afteroon and orthodontist appointment used in the same sentence. For me that would be a little oxymoronic.

I would love to see instructions too. That is just way too cool!

You used to suck on lemons and limes? Oh my. I can't do that. My lemonade calls for a lot of sugar, as you can see in the recipe. I always follow that recipe.

I need to make some this afternoon.

I guess 5 minutes is up becuse the sky opened up again.

Maybe I should go get ready to go and have everything I'm taking in hand so when there is a break again I can go.

My husband said I was pitiful - really sounded pathetic wanting it to clear up so bad so I could go get scrapbook supplies!

It's called a Klic-N-Kut. I specifically bought it because it can cut fabric. I'm going to try to cut squares and triangles for quilts with it, too. Have you seen the Accu-quilt die cutting machine? I think I could cut those shapes with my machine. Just have to play with the sizes and make sure they're accurate.

Hey ladies. I have been working hard today. I rearranged my gallery, and actually added some. My daughter is home from school for the summer and we worked a bit last evening. She is very creative and "artsy." She did her own page last night. She will frame this and put it in her dorm room next year.

You have been talking about various die cutting products. I have my eye on the cricut. I'd really like to get me one of those.

Tracey, I had no idea there were fabric die-cutters, I'll have to look into these.

I've been eying the BossKut Gazelle, the QuicKutz Silhouette, and the Pazzles Inspiration (which I just noticed mentions it can also cut fabric).

Kara - Yes the fabric die-cut machine is very expensive and you have to buy different dies for every shape.

B - I know how you feel about saying the same thing over and over in the gallery. It's so hard to come up with something original to say, especially when you really like something! Sometimes I think what I'm saying sounds so lame! Maybe it's time to get out the old thesaurus! Hmm... let's see, wonderful, splendid, fabulous, terrific........

Michelle - I left love in your gallery.

You are so lucky that your daughter will scrap with you. My sons are not in the least bit interested in scrapping with me! My youngest is real "artsy" with a lot of art school under his belt but he still doesn't seem interested in scrapping.

What's wrong with kids today?

This will be great in her dorm, and when she graduates maybe she will let you put it in your scrapbook, unless you are doing a college scrapbook for her.

I always leave my comment BEFORE I read any other comments so I'm not copying, and if they said the same thing, then it looks like they are copying me!

Really, that way I know I am writing what I think without feeling like I have to reword it.

Then once I write mine and submit it, then I read the others.

Henri, yes and no on keeping a college scrapbook for her. I have seperate books for both my girls until the end of high school. From there, I am now starting a "family" book and I keep her college pictures in that book. I didn't think I would have enough pictures since I wouldn't physically be there to do it, but I have to say. She does a good job of taking pictures so I may have to rethink that. She is considering going in to Art. She like to draw people believe it or not. I will have to post some of her work. It is unbelieveable.

I would love to see some of her artwork!

My son likes cartooning and that was what he wanted to do. He created several characters that are really cute (however, remember, this is mom talking). To help pay for art school he had 500 t-shirts made in 8 color and sold them - the local Kroger where he worked even sold the (but he never got the money).

Whenever I see something new has been posted in my gallery to one of my layouts I really get excited. I don't care if they all say the same thing - it doesn't matter. It is that someone took the time to look at my layout. That means so much to me!

okay... I need to vent. I'm sorry frustrated and hurt. I ask dh to go to my game tonight to support. And he said probably not because his back hurts. Well I told him that I am hurt because he doesn't/won't enjoy alot of the stuff that I like to do and either won't do it with me or won't keep his mouth shut about how he hates it. I'm not talking about girly things... I'm talking about doing things outside or seeing a movie that isn't a horror flick. I would like his support in stuff that I want to do and someone to do it with. Uggg! Is that really a lot to ask for? So his comment was well I guess I"m taking penalties for his back hurting. Which makes me even more mad. Okay I'm done ranting.

Henri- Cartooning is so creative and fun. I love cartoons, and so does my daughter. Why didn't he get the money for the shirts? That is so not right.

Bethany, I am sorry your DH hurt your feelings. My DH hurts my feelings all the time.

Bethany - I don't think men understand when they hurt us.

With Bill, I've learned to manipulate. Yes, manipulate.

If you this with me, I'll fry chicken for you later.

If you will watch this movie with me I'll make brownies later.

If you will do this, I will scratch your back for you until you fall asleep.

That works. He usually smiles and gives right in.

It's all in the bargaining for us.

People who can draw always amaze me! Can't wait to see your daughters work, Michelle.

Bethany - Sorry dh hurt your feelings. There have been so many times in 27 years that my dh hasn't been able to do something that I thought he should do. The most important thing is to not hold a grudge about this. Tell him how you feel and then move on. I know it's hard right now.

No grudges here. I guess I just have had this build and build and I have told him over and over. Frustrated more than anything. When we first met I was 50 lbs lighter... the lightest I ever remember being, and because he wouldn't do anything I liked to do, and I wanted to spend time with him I sat on the couch or whatever and didn't do anything. I hate that I let this happen. I was so happy and had energy when I dropped that weight. Now i'm lazy and don't have any energy to do anything. Uggg! I'm over it. It helps to vent and I know nothing will change with him so there's no reason to hope.

Henri, LOL! But it's true - men are mostly very simple creatures, the reward system works well.

Bethany, sorry that happened

Did I miss something? Are we supposed to post a picture of ourselves? You know there is a reason I am the one behind the camera.

I personally like the pictures best because it helps us get to know the people we are chatting with better.

Bethany - I hope my answer to you wasn't to flip. I don't want to trivialize because I know you are frustrated and hurt.

What did you do together before you were married? Is there anything special he likes to do? Maybe he isn't into sports (my husband does not like sports, but it works because I don't either).

Is there a movie he wants to see? Maybe if he will go to yours you can go to his.

I know what you mean about feeling better when you loose weight. I felt so much better when I lost that 63 pounds and I've put 5 or 6 of it back on and I feel the difference.

I'm not married to a man I can talk to about my feelings if they are female feelings - he calls them hormone storms.

He says, "If you are angry with me or have a problem with me, talk to you girlfriends. I don't want to deal with your hormone storms - that is why you have girlfriends. So you can talk it over with them.

I tell him he has testosterone poisoning. Testosterone is a good thing. Testosterone poisoning is not a good thing at all and he has it sometimes.

But I will be very honest, if I want him to do something, I throw out something I will do for him and he usually will work with me on what it is that I want him to do.

Don't get me wrong - I can get so mad at him I want to tie him in a giant knot sometimes.

I have kept my calm so far. Before we were married it was the same thing. I have been feeling this for 2 years plus now. I really don't think that he knows what it means to compromise. I love him dearly which is why I married him but sometimes I too just want to tie him in a knot and throw him in a closet! I honestly think the majority of his malfunctions is because he has such a shi***y family growing up. It sounds like they are all cranky people who doesn't care about anyone but themselves. Kind of fits his discription!

Bethany, I can so honestly relate. Entirely. If you ever need to vent you go right ahead. I am the giver in my relationship, and my DH is the taker. It becomes emotionally exhausting. My DH had a similar family, and he was raised to be self centered. In his defense, it is all he knows.

Thanks for the gallery love, B. It's so nice to go into your gallery and see those little yellow comment markers! For the UNO cards, I just copied the real cards, but reduced the size.
