This sounds like fun, and I'd like to be in. But have a question... is it 5 separate items and 5 separate lo's or 5 separate items and any number of lo's I choose? I want to participate either way, but just want to make sure I'm clear on the rules...

- 5 seperate items.

- 1 to 5 LO's (or more, if applicable & or depending on the supply)...For example, 1 sheet of paper, a package of brads, or a stencil alone could go a whole long of way if desired or attempted!

- Basically, the idea is to find 5 specific things that we know that we are just not using and to challenge & make the stakes a little bit higher for those of us not using them!

Finding 5 little things from 500 should be a whole lot easier than this!

It's totally up to you!...You can decide.

For example, if you have a 100 pack of primas...You can specify that you'd like to plan to use and or offer up 10 primas from the bag (that is, of course, in the case that you don't get around to using your 10).

It would just would depend.

Know what I mean?

In which case, single, unused items might be all the more challenging to actually use up and part with vs. multiples!

Welcome Stacey!

Basically, it's pretty simple (or so it might seem!)

- Look around the site Superstore.

- Look in your personal Mass Of A Stash.

- Find & Choose 5 items that you own from the inventory (insert the step that is proving to be tricky!)

- Link them here, using the Superstore product link (found within the your message reply).

- I will then link your 5 specified selections to page 1, so that the rest of the Players will also know what items you are personally working towards actually using in the alloted time.

- 1 of 2 things will then happen. You will or will not end up using your items. If you do, you are then automatically eligible to win the game goodie prize(s) (Note: Random Drawing)...Or if not, then whatever items you did not end up using, will need to be mailed on to the Challenge winner!

Hope That Helps Some More!

I am new to challenges and thinking about joining in. I have a question though. Can our design be a scraplift? Also, I don't have a 12 x 12 scanner but I do have a pretty old digital camera. While human subjects come out relatively well, my scrap LOs are always a little fuzzy.

Thanks!

Kathy :-)

Hi there Kathy. Welcome To The Challenges Board!...You'll love it here in no time, I'm sure!

Scraflifts are perfectly fine. The 'new LO's only' part that you will come across in the 'Rules', if you will, just means new layouts begun after the Challenge began vs. layouts that may have been created before the Challenge.

As for the not having a scanner part, you will eventually hear to discover, that many of us also do not have scanners either. There are photog tip and suggestions to be found, such as try taking your photos on a sheet or a white background, and even better yet & or if a possibility, try taking your LO pics outside, during the daylight, using the suns natural light.

Hope That Helps Kathy.

Welcome & Be sure to let us know if there are any other questions that you might have. Also, as some helpful advice, be sure to check back on the Challenge boards a few days before each month arrives, as they do tend to fill up really fast!

Here's what I'm thinking about so far! I've had the transparency forever and need to use it! I need to come up with some more! Hmmm...

wow this challenge may not be good for budget. I'm loving those butterflies Angelica posted.

Exactly what I was thinking!

It's so hard not to look through the store and not long for yet even more beautiful & exciting things!

It's when you're not really looking, that you end up finding the best things!

As long as your signing up for this challenge, check out http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/15088...
I love doubling up!

If you work it right, you could kill 2 birds in one sitting!...(Using 3 of your 5 selected items!)

And a $75 Prize Pack...Um, that's inspiration all in itself!

Thanks for the reminder & link Diane!

Good Luck Ladies!

Gotcha!...Added to your front page section!

p.s. From afar, I dunno, it sorta looks like they might even be able to go together somehow.

If so, that of course, would totally be a bonus, when attempting to use up in one sitting!

Good Luck finding 3 more!

How do we get the pic of our LO and the 5 items used into the thread? Do we send them to you for posting, or how does that work? Sorry to be so dense!!

Thanks!

What does the (0/5) and (1/5) mean after the players' names?

Thanks!

You are not dense, Kathy. You upload your layout or layouts into your gallery, allow public embedding, then post the image code in this thread.
For linking products, when you hit reply (don't use the quick reply at the bottom, actually click reply on the last post), there will be a button to click at the bottom to link products from the site store.
Hope that helps...

Hi again Kathy!...Glad to hear that you are in!

Click on Reply.

Click here to search & select store products.

Search.

And then click +Add product to List.

Include your 5 (or even 1 at a time, if & or as needed).

Send post.

Includes them here. Upon seeing them, I'll go back and add em to page 1.

- Same thing for the completed layouts. Add. I'll then link back to page 1 above your chosen products.

- Lastly, the (0/5) means the number of products used for the Challenge.

Angelica's (1/5) (& or ) represents the 1 item of the 5 items that she has already used so far.

It's just a little tally-counter I always use, to keep it fun!

Here are my first 3 items. For the Frightful pp, I will use 1 piece of the paper (the black spider web pp)
For the ZVA Crystals, I will use one of the flourishes.

No problem! And I am disappointed, one of the things I am using on a lo I was going to do is not in the store! So I am going to have to re-think my next two items....

Gotcha & Gotcha added!

Same here and I'm sure the same with others. Once we finally start digging down deep, we'll quickly learn that many of these products just are just no longer available or on the list.

Yes. All part of the great big 'challenge'. LOL!

There Ya Go! Great Job!

Got it!

Also, I'll be sure to add your included narrative(s).

p.s. Kathy in advance, hafta ask...Are you sure you want to add/offer your punch?...I'm asking in advance, in the case, that it doesn't get used.

Completely your choice, but as the hostess 'just gotta make sure' and ask in advance! Thanks!!

Alternative/Suggestion - 5-10 punched borders (in the case that the punch is not used...)

That's awesome & Got it!

(Thanks for letting me ask!)

p.s. BTW - For what it's worth, I have one as well, and sadly have only used it maybe once or twice, so I hear ya! Here's to hoping that you do end up using it, maybe fall back in love with it and don't end up ultimately seperated!

Melinda, have you used the Zva crystals before? Did you have any trouble? I find them really hard to work with. There not like primas.

I have not, this will by my first time with them or with the Prima's. I was thinking I was going to use that tip I saw a little bit ago, I think it was a Basic Grey tip that said to use tape on the front of them and lift off, and they should keep their shape well.
We will see, I guess. They just got here today, but I don't think I'll get scrapping time until Sunday night.

OK, here it goes...Feels like it took all of forever, but here are my 5, brand new, in the package items.

I ended up just purchasing them (which long story short was easier & faster in my particular case).

a) My household goods have still yet to arrive, (which was not what I had expected!)

b) There is literally no way to find good, inexpensive stuff at our only overseas store, which is a Ben Franklins.

Either whichway, all 5 are new. Also, being that my selection was narrowed down to a null, it just makes this all the more a Challenge for me!

My 5 are all dimensional embellishments. All 5 have to do with The Beach, Vacation & also the 4th of July!

p.s. I went ahead and picked up an extra of each 1.

That way, either whichway, the Winner will ultimately recieve all 5 of mine whether I finish or not!

To be clear, this will be, in addition to the rest of the potential items placed in the overall Prize Goodie Bag!

(9:19pm my time right now).

This afternoon I was able to break up and just about use up 3 of the 5 Jolee sets.

(I'll be sure to post soon!)

Now it's the last 2 that I have listed that I will the harder time using up.

On that note, off to hunt the Superstore for some possible good example layouts specifically using those 2 sets!

Sidenote: Without actually having any camping or bbq pics, already considering maybe doing 2 or more 8x8 recipe layout cards. One for smores and the other, some sort of Summertime recipe!

I tryed that with the BG ones, worked perfect....tryed that with the Zva...didn't work so good. Try cutting the plastic close to the crystals, then peeling alittle off, place on the paper and just keep repeating. Take you time and it'll come out perfect!!!

Here are my last 3 items. Thought I'd better pick something out so I can start using it up!

I just bought the Jolee's for our florida vacation we just got back from so that will motivate me to start scrapping those vacation pics. The rubons and masks I've had for a while and have Never used! Time to use it or lose it!

Thank you for the tip! I so rarely get to order things, I would have hated to screw it up! DH leaves for his business trip tomorrow morning, so that is when non-stop scrapping starts!
Oh, and I made my first card this morning... just a little I Love You card, and hid it in his laptop case so he will find it when he gets there. Hoping it will be a nice surprise.

p.s. That masked compass looks pretty cool & should work out just perfect towards something either summery, vacation-wise or travel-wise!

It actually could work for a number of things!

Off to see if there are any examples!
