We also have the reeses cookies, but we use peanut butter cookie dough. my favorite is sugar cookies, but not all of them, i like the the frosting that i call "watery". it's not thick.. not that i would say no to one without lol

Marlene, My family does a picture christmas card, i'm 24. It always has Mom, Dad, Grandma and I. My cousins used to take a picture on a summer trip with their santa hats on, and that was always their picture.

hey girls!

1. my favorite treat is a toss up between holly and puppy chow...the holly is marshmellows, butter, green food coloring and corn flakes with red hots on top and the puppy chow is rice and corn chex with butter, corn syrup and cashews! they are both addictive and go straight to my belly!

2. I have been really bad the last couple of years, but this year I am sending out pics of the kids. we have lots of relatives that do not ever get to see my kids so that is the only way they see them.

So girls, got a question for ya? Do you send out those Christmas cards with your kids pictures on them or just regular cards? Do/did you stop at a certain age? I'm just so uncertain if I want to do them again.

For the past few years just regulart cards and even that list has gotten shorter.

Okay so last year I tried panettone for the first time. I could be way off here but my description of it is that it is like a sweet bread. I do know it is italian.

I LOVED this and look forward to it again this year. I actually think we had two last year

Keisha, your Santa is ubber Hot!!!!
I think I am going to make Oreo Balls this year. I have been wanting to make them for a while. They are really good and I am not a big fan of Oreo cookies.

I have never tried the glazed gelly rolled pens before, but they sound like fun!

I have a few questions for you!
What are your favorite candle/potpourri smells?
You said you like chocolate, any particular kind? fillings? nuts?
If you spoil/treat yourself to something, what is it?
Your Santa needs some answers!

Hi Santa!!
For Christmas I like mulberry and cinnamon.

I'm a milk chocolate fan, no dark. Dove is great, but pretty much anything chocolate. Nuts are good too, almond, cashew, peanuts not so much on the walnuts though. Carmel tossed in is great too!!

hmmmm, spoil treat myself?? Are mom's supposed to do that?? I like scented soaps, but nothing fruity unless it's Japanese cherry blossoms. NO berry scents. I also like hot chocolate on a cold winter night. If I really want to relax, I take a bubble bath with some scented candles I like wildflower and ocean scents.

Sorry I wrote a book

Well that didn't take long, I found it!!!
Oreo Balls

25 -35 Walnut size candies
Ingredients
· 1 package regular size Oreo cookies, crushed
· 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
· 1 package white almond bark
· 1 package chocolate almond bark
Directions
1. Using a blender or hand held mixer, mix Oreos and cream cheese together
2. Roll into walnut size balls
3. Chill for an hour
4. Melt approximately 3/4 package of white almond bark.
5. Stick a toothpick in an Oreo ball and dip it in the melted white almond bark
6. Allow to harden on wax paper
7. Takes about 15 min
8. While waiting, melt about 1/4 package of chocolate almond bark
9. When Oreo balls are no longer sticky to the touch, decorate with drizzles of chocolate and white almond bark.
I just use a sandwich bag with a tiny hole cut in one corner to drizzle the almond bark

it is kind of like a white chocolate T except it has the almond extract in it. your white chocolate covered pretzels and everything like that usually has the almond bark on it.

My favorite memory is from my childhood- We had a great big Christmas at our old farmhouse way out in the country (we lived in the city)-- The whole family was there-- it was soooooo cold! My sister and I found the tree by riding around the property (300 acres) on our horses. We flagged the tree and dad took us back to get it-- it was HUGE!!! We were on horses so it didn't look THAT big! Dad cut it anyway and he and my brother worked on it until it would fit in the den (with 13 foot ceilings). All of us kids had to sleep in sleeping bags because the adults were all sharing the beds--the only heat was from a couple of space heaters--It was the BEST Christmas we ever spent!

Terri ~ what a great memory to have!

Nea, that could only happen to you!

I don't have one specific memory, but traditions I always liked. Baking roll out sugar cookies, frosting and decorating them. My father would often tie a string to our stocking and run a maze through the house to a larger gift. That was always fun. All the grandparents coming over for Christmas dinner.

Laurie I like the maze through the house. That sounds fun!

I don't have a specific memory either but decorating the tree was my favorite. If they made it we threw it on the tree (garland, tinsel, fake snow, candy canes, bubble lights, ribbon, mice ornaments etc). My childhood tree looked like a big Holiday Hiccup but we had fun doing it. lol

Yup ~ and my Mom still has certain ornaments we made for her. Some years she puts a paper angel topper my sis made in K on instead of her star. And she still has the gingerbread man foam ornament that my other sis took a bite out of ~ she was just checking because he looked so tasty!

My favorite christmas memories were the christmas I got a Cabbage Patch doll, going to work with my dad on Christmas Eve and being all excited to have our celebration with my family when we got home and I remember one year, where we used to live there was lots of trees right across the street. That christmas it snowed and I remember looking out the window and it was so beautiful with all the snow covered trees.

Our tree generally goes up (fake due to allergies and length of time we keep it up) the day after or weekend of Thanksgiving and comes down after Three Kings Day (Jan 6th)

Ours goes up the first monday in December and comes down the first weekend in January. No themed tree here, my kids decorate it and alot of the decorations are ones they have made over the years, plus every year the kids get a ordament so that when they move out they have a collection to take with them.

That's a good idea Shana ~ my Mom packed each of us up with our own ornaments when we moved out. It's nice to have a starting collection.

I think the latest I've taken down the tree was probably first weekend in January.

My tree always goes up Thanksgiving weekend and right after Christmas/New Years. By that time I'm totally sick of looking at it.

Funny story for you all:

The year before last I bought one of those 3 foot trees instead of putting up a big one. So it was time to put away the tree and decorations and I'm like why do I have to take this little tree apart for. So I take the tree with all the decorations on it still, unplug the lights and shove the whole tree up into the attic! My mom is watching me go up the attic stairs with the tree and couldn't stop laughing. It was like the Grinch stealing the christmas tree BTW, it's still up there, all decorated and covered, ready to go LOL

Our tree goes up right after Thanksgiving and comes down after 12th night (in January) if I don't get sick of it before hand--
I have bought my son an ornament every year since he was born. He is 23-- He has a good start on his tree dec's, I think! It is neat to look back and see what he was interested in at the time (that is what I try to buy)

hi ya.
Glad that you all like the Oreo Ball recipe.
Favorite memory..... hmmmm...... I remember playing in my room and making a small Christmas tree out of whatever was availible, so Santa would leave ma a gift to open as soon as I got up. (we had to wait for my dad to get up before we could even see the tree with the presents under it, he was always hung over and we would wait for what seemed to be forever for him to get up, then ofcourse we had to eat bvreakfast first0
And trying soooo hard to go to sleep that my sister and I would lie in bed telling eachother stories because it was sooo hard to sleep with all the excitment of Santa coming.

when I was growing up, we usually got the tree about a day before Christmas eve and then on The Eve of Christmas my dad and brother would put the lights on it. (you know those big bulbed out door kinda lights) Each of us kids would put one ornament on then go to bed, and Santa would decorate it! (my brother was the one who usually got to decorate the tree) It had garland and Christmas balls, ornaments and tons of tinse (so much you could barely see the tree) and Candy canes all over! In the eyes of a child it was the most shinny and beautiful thing you ever seen, but looking back it was sooooo gaudy. lol
My mom would take the tree down after Little Christmas.

Now I have a fake tree and it goes up as soon as possible (after thanksgiving) and comes down after the 6th.

lol i like it Marlene, that's a fun one!

We usually get our tree the 2nd week of December and leave it until after New Years.

We had a 10 ft. tree up all year around, and my mom would just change the decor according to the time of the year. That was the only thing that DIDN'T fall in the huge 1994 LA Earthquake. But we took it down anyway. Now we get real ones, for the smell. Last year cause of the baby, we got a smaller tree than usual, and put it on a table cause we werent sure what the baby would do with it.

i have the whole crayola collection from hallmark, i think it was started the year i was born? maybe a year or 2 after, something like that, so i have all of them.. and now its not a collection anymore, but they still make them. my favorite is a little gingerbread ornament that on the bottom, you stick a white christmas light in and it lights up =]

our tree always goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I refuse to hit the stores that weekend so it's a perfect time to pull out all the deocrations. It comes down the weekend after Christmas, by then I'm ready to get my house back to normal.

I REFUSE to go to the stores that weekend too! Heck generally I refuse to go to the stores most of the time unless I can go as soon as they open to avoid crowds.

we put up our tree the Fri after Thanksgiving and take it down on the 2nd.

My fave Christmas memory was when I was 6 @ my Granny and Papa's. It was the last Christmas my Papa was alive, and so it has always held a special place in my heart.

Marlene LOVE the photo!!!!

i bet it does Amanda =] I don't remember my last Christmas with my Papa.. I don't remember much about him and I was 8. I could tell you step by step the day before he died.. it's weird how you remember certain things and not others, isnt it?

Yup ~ I refuse to shop on Black Friday as well, so perfect time to decorate!

Haven't had a real tree in a number of years ~ just no room and such a battle with the cats I've given up on that for now. Have a small mantle tree and other accents around the house. Plus lights.

it is pretty strange what sticks in your memory. I can remember that Christmas really well (and still have the pound puppy my grandparents gave me) but most of the rest of my Childhood Christmases I can only remember bits and pieces, none are as clear as that one memory.
