This is an informal place for sharing our projects and getting feedback on them (both positive and critique). We are here to help each other improve our work and to support each other.

Here are some ground rules
1. Please Please Please try to stay caught up on leaving comments on people's work. I understand that life gets in the way sometimes, but don't just stop by and post your work without ever leaving comments in return. We all want feedback that is why we joined a critique group.
2. When you post a new layout please specify if you want critique on the project or you just want to share the project.

Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to make this group better.

Welcome everyone. I am excited about this. I just wish I could think of a funny/witty/cool name for our group. Suggestions are welcome. I can't think of anything for the life of me.

I can't wait to see everyone's layouts. I have 3 new ones that I need to upload. I will try to do it tonight so we can all get to critiquing.

do we just post our los in the gallery as usual with a link here or do we just leave a post that we have updated our gallery?

I would post a link to the layouts here in the thread. It is easier for me at least to stay caught up that way without getting confused on what I have and have not commented on.

I like:

Good Golly Miss Mollies
Glitsy Gals
Scrapbots

Also my dh just suggested the Glue Dots. I like that one too.

Maybe we could create a poll. Of the ones suggested list your favorite 3 and we will create a poll.

I really like the colors on your Loretta page, the turquoise really caught my eye and the flowers on the trash the dress page are outstanding. I'm gonna have to try to make one of those.

In the gallery is fine. I would say we should preface our comments in the gallery with the initials of our group name once we find it for example if we are the Good Golly Miss Mollies we would put GGMM: before our comments in the gallery so people know it is from a critique group.

Should we move are critques to this thread rather than gallery posts? I felt awkward giving critique in the gallery. Y'all do want critque, right? I do.

We can go on a case by case basis. If you want critique in your gallery then just state it when you post. If you want it in the thread then do the same. That is also where the initials of our group name come into play. When someone sees a gallery comment with FLG: or WTTS: or something that means they are in a critique group and the critique was asked for.

For the record I always want critiques. I want to improve my scrapping so if you think something is off on one of my projects then let me know so I can see it from another perspective.

I prefer mine in the gallery. I also would like them all critiqued. But can mention it when I post if that is how we want to do it. I'm not too picky.

All 3 names are fine with me. How are we deciding a poll?

ACU and dropping off a couple. This first one, I love how I did the pictures but don't know if it needs something extra around the edges. I don't have too many things other than stickers and colored paper to use. (getting a cricut for Christmas and can not wait!)

New houses are always so exciting Desi! Congrats. When we moved into our house I was so excited to have a scrap space. That was the second room we painted and promptly after it was set up I stopped helping dh paint because I was too busy scrapping our wedding photos. He was not a happy camper.

Lynn, on your last post, the first and second links took me to the same picture. I just finished my Disney album last month. I had a TON of pictures and it really made for a large album. I had to split up that trip into two albums, because we also went to SeaWorld and Kennedy Space Center and I had so many pictures. I have a hard time cutting out pictures so I typically end up putting most of them in my pages instead of choosing the best ones.

Mandy, sorry you have to work this weekend! My dh has to work Sunday and Monday (he's in sales).

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend (holiday weekend here in the US). We're headed up to MIL's house (2 hours away) for the weekend, though we'll be home Sunday evening. Dh still has to work Monday.

Girls, I need a little help. On one of my LO's from today, many have said I should add inking to it. But I'm not exactly sure what that is. lol I also thought brushing chalk on the background paper would add to it. Thanks!

If you haven't figured it out yet, Mandy (edsprincess) is my daughter and so you will get double doses of her kiddos. Here is one I did a while ago. She had great fun in this paper bag! Isn't it funny how kids gravitate to the bags and boxes to play with rather than the $$ toys?

Until I get my camera repaired or get a new one or borrow one, there will be few new LOs in my gallery so I will just slowly share them with you here.

Tracey when I say inking I mean to use an ink pad, marker, distressing pad and run it along the edges of the paper. It kinda makes it pop a bit more atleast in my opinion. I'm a big fan of inking and do it on almost every lo.

Hope everyone has fun on their date night! We're heading to mil's for the weekend (only 2 hours away). Hopefully we can still get out for a movie or to eat or something.

ACU. I won't be able to get any scrapping done this weekend but since I'm taking my laptop with me, I hope to keep up with those who do post lo's.

Tracey...there are a bumch of product and technique demos in the videos tab at the top. It s a huge resource to learn loads of stuff and get some really awesome ideas. I bet there is one on inking. Also the resource tab as loads of info too. I only recently discovered the wealth of info on this site. I have learned sooooo much from those videos.

Just a photo tip for your lo's.
Outside works best if you can, if not, hang the lo on a white wall (i use some form of moveable tape) and line the top and and side edge up with the lens of the camera. Crop in a editing program if you have one or have time and voila!

Welcome April.

Becky we went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and then we went and saw Inglorious Basterds. It was a lot of fun and I loved the movie. We even stopped at a photo booth and had our photos taken. Now I have pictures to scrap for our date night.

Cassie sounds like you had a good time on your date night too.

Busy day today. We went and helped my grandparents finish up the carrots in their garden. We have to go back after supper tonight to pick some up.

Cookies are in the process of baking. Pretty sure Trevor is on a sugar high. He never gets to stay up this late he's loving it.

Gee I just realized I never got the ok to join this group. How rude of me!
I hope it is ok, and I am going to post this lo for critique. My gallery is fine. I am wondering if it needs some paint or more ink around the title, any other thoughts?

Thanks, Mandy! I'm definitely going to take a look at some of those videos this week.

April, ha, it sounds so easy when you mention how to line up the lo's with the camera lense. Why didn't I think of that. lol Thanks for the tip. Now I can take pictures to post that aren't crooked.

Cassie and Becky, sounds like you both had great date nights! Dh and I like to go out on Saturdays when we can for a 'date day'. This weekend we went to mil's house so we had our date with her. lol She picked out the movie, and poor dh kept falling asleep. I had to nudge him the whole 2 hours to keep him awake. But... then we ate at the Cheesecake Factory, so, yum!

ACU!

Had a great time at the fair yesterday. Today's going to be a cleaning day. Also have to take laundry to my parents. We got a new dryer and when it was shipped it didn't have the hookup we needed so we have to wait till Wednesday to get it. What a pain.

I am posting the inspiration for this lo here too.
When you go to the photo you will see some of my thoughts on what to change.

We had my family over for dinner last night. They brought us a TON of home grown tomatoes. I am not sure what to do with them all now,but I am excited about it. Home grown tomatoes are the best.
