This is a multi-purpose group. It’s a swap, it’s a challenge, it’s a support group, it’s a critique group, it’s a garage sale, pretty much it’s a whatever group! Come here to post new projects, or to just chat!

Rules/regulations….
1. This is a complex (but fun!!) group. I will post optional swaps/trades and (mostly) optional challenges. If you would like to suggest a swap/trade/challenge, just let me know!
2. This is an exclusive group. (don’t you feel special!! Hehe) I want to keep it this way for trust (swaps, personal topics etc). If you would like someone in particular to join this group, just PM me and I will send them an invitation.
3. Venting/lots of chatter is required.
4. I will send out occasional RAKs. You can be chosen for a RAK in a couple of different ways. Such as random drawings, polls, most LO’s completed ect. (These will not be sent out every month, just when I feel like being nice hehe!) I like being random.
5. It is required that you leave a constructive criticism comments on at least 5 LO’s from each persons gallery. I have always been told to do “sandwhich criticism” Tell them something you like, then the things you don’t like/could change, then something you do like. For example “I really like the chipboard! Instead of using purple paper, I think you should of used yellow, because I think it would of popped more. I really think the flowers pulled it all together!” Be nice!! Don’t be mean!!
6. This group is meant to be a fun place, so have fun!
7. Since this is a continued group, you will be automatically signed up every month. Please let me know if you want out of the group, or just want to be inactive.
8. Any sizes/items count. I don’t care if you scrap on napkins!!!

First (mandatory) challenge. Due date: As soon as you can!!
Do a LO about yourself. It must show your “style” of scrapbooking. Also, include a few paragraphs about yourself either in journaling on the LO, or in a post on this thread. Include things like: your family, your hobbies, favorite food, etc… just an icebreaker for the ladies who have not met yet! Example below!!!

Well, Hello Beautiful! By -Jenn-

Jenn is 20 years old and lives in Wichita, KS. Her obsessions are anything pink, chocolate, her cat, and her dbf Matt. In her spare time, she is either on sb.com, facebook, or scrapping. She loves basic grey, prima, and we r memory keepers. Matt is a Senior airman in the USAF, and will be leaving for a deployment in Kuwait December 22. She would describe her scrapping style as simple scraplifting contemporary. She uses clean lines, and loves bright colors (even though she is scared of using them), scraplifts alot and loves the effects of negative space.

Optional challenges

10/20- One of my favorite movies is Finding Nemo. Do a LO that is connected in some way to the movie. For example... do a LO about bath time, the beach, or swimming. You can also do a LO that is orange and white, (nemo is orange and white), or maybe monochromatic blue!!!

10/26- Here is another challenge... PM the screen name of someone who you get along with really well on sb.com and I will send them an invitation to this group. Just so we can get some new faces in here!!

I'm here!

So excited about this group! I've been working on my scrappy room for the last 2 days and I'm hoping things start to slow down some where I can take advantage of the clean space and scrap!

Don't you love it when the hubby goes to sleep?!? hehe. My dbf wanted me to spend time with him tonight, but I was in a major scrappy mood, so I pinned him down and licked his face. (lol!) he practically made me go away! wow, it's 11 and i've only done 1 page... eek!! I gotta get going!

wow, it's like 2:30, and I am still up... Poor Matt passed out on the couch a few hours ago (he's been working 12 hour shifts every day for a week) and will be working thru the weekend. I just started playing Sorority life on facebook, and i'm addicted! no bed for me tonight! that is for sure! hehe!!

I can't wait for you guys to do the challenge, i'm really excited about it!!!

I think Margy is either a waitress or she works at a casino (I always get her and another lady mixed up as far as there jobs go!) Or maybe she is both! haha! Yep, i'm goofy!

good morning girls!

sabrina, margy works in the casino.

elly, I have a homemade clip it up but am saving to buy the real deal. My homemade version is not sturdy enough and it totally leans. It also doesn't spin well.

well, I'm coloring my hair as we type. I'm trying a new color by herbal essence. It is a bodacious brown with a touch of burgandy. I'm a little worried. It is going to be a much darker color than I've ever done but I love the touch of burgandy. so can't wait to see how it turns out! I'm off to a photography exhibit today. I entered a photo again this year but I plan on spending at least a couple of hours scrapping today! Hope you all have a fun saturday! OH and the SuN is finally out here! We haven't seen it in over a week! Yeah!

I saw that one on line somewhere too... One I thought was pretty cool, was a paper towel holder and ring clips (like the rings that hold together acrylic albums) and page protectors. Another one was the closet organizers that have grate like wires, they hung up stuff on there too. I saw a lot of them.

I love having stuff mounted to the wall. Unfortunately we are renters, and my pegboard was starting to create holes in the cheap walls of this place. That's why I decided to get the clip it ups, and I really do love them!

But one day, I will have sturdy walls, and one wall will be entirely pegboard, lol!

Mine woke me up with pancakes and coffee this morning! I love a man that can cook! Actually I always joke that we play reverse roles in our marriage! I'm the one on the couch with a beer and he's the one in the kitchen with an apron on baking goodies! He made chocolate cupcakes with dd last night and they iced and decorated them!

I saw that one last night! It was pretty cool! I just don't have the desk space.

How do you ladies keep your paper? Right now I keep mine in a file organizer with all my stickers and its just not working... Going shopping tonight for the kitten's new scratching post and will look at getting the page protectors, 3 ring binders, and paper towel holder (actually two since we lost ours in our move)

This is so awesome ya'lls DH's made ya'll breakfast! Makin me hungry for some pancakes! My DH usually makes breakfast on the weekends, but we were busy this weekend. He is the breakfast maker! That is is fav meal!

I love the clip it up things. I don't have any room for it tho. We live in a tiny 2 bedroom house on post, in military housing. My dining room doubles as my scrap space, but it barely fits our dinning table lol. My scrap stuff is piled up almost to the ceiling next to my table lol.

About the challenge, I am really excited about it. I have been planning on doing a birthday LO on myself. My b-day was a few months ago so I really need to get it done. So I think I will use that LO for this challenge. It will be about me at 26! I have started the journaling, but need to find pics now. I dunno why but I have been in a funk lately and not been in the mood to scrap. Which is really odd. So I am excited about this challenge and thread to help me get motivated. I do better when I have challenges I have to complete. And sometimes do LO I would not normally do.

Alright. I guess I talked enough. I guess since I was busy all weekend I felt like I had a lot to catch up on.

I use the cropper hopper paper holder.

And here are the dividers

I love them. It holds all my paper and I love how the dividers divide the colors and styles of paper!

Here's a pic of my homemade clip it up and also a pic of my paper storage! OH and this is just patterned paper! All of my cardstock is in another location! I'm vowing to empty out at least 3 drawers before I buy one more sheet of paper! oh and looking at this old pic it looks like I already have 3 empty drawers but unfortunatley I have now filled every single drawer to maximum capacity! They are sorted by manufacturer or theme and I keep a ziplock bag in each drawer for scraps!

wow.. you guys are chatty!! hehe

I am supposed to get a scrappy room next July and I want to do peg board too!! I love the pegboard idea.

I am sooo jealous of you guys waking up to food!!! Matt isn't allowed in the kitchen to cook or do dishes, and as of this morning, he's not allowed to do laundry either... He's actually on my bad side right now... I wanna beat him up! hehe

Jade- I play yoville too!! i don't do it as much as I play SL though!

Elly- I keep my CS in a paperfile like you do, then I keep my cheap pp in drawers all together (like Julie does) then I keep my lines seperate in drawers. If you have a lot of space, then I recomend Cropper Hoppers holders. When i get my scrap space i'm going to get some of the Jetmax modular cubes and the cropper hoppers fit perfectly in there.

Jade- do you like the military base housing? I've always wondered what they were like. I've seen some of them on an army base (but it was a BIG base) I think it was Ft. levenworth in kansas. and they were pretty big houses. Matt was talking to me about moving there someday... I have my scrappy area in my dinning room too, I have a lot of storage drawers (like Julie's pic) and they are all piling up. I am really glad you like the challenge! I loved doing it and I can't wait untill you guys get it done!!!

Sabrina- i'm soooo glad you made it into a poll!!!! I voted for you, and just fyi you are tied right now, with 2 other LO's for 1st place!!! Let us know if you win!!

It depends on the post if I like on post housing. At Ft. Riley I liked it. Plus the rent was really expensive in Junction City and Manhattan b/c of the post and the college in Manhattan. Ft. RIley was nice. It was very family friendly. And I like how you could have animals. You can't find many places to rent that allow pets and I had a 85 lb lab. I could rent a fence for as long as I was there for my dog! But now we are at Ft. Sam Houston and it is a little different. Here for some reason you have to buy your fence which I might consider, but we might only be here a year b/c we are here on compassionate for my son. And the only 2 bedrooms are right in the middle of the post so we hear AIT students chanting in the mornings and evenings. They do have neighborhoods that they built not too long ago and are nice, but no 2 bedrooms. I hate how our house is placed randomly on the post. I guess every post is different. I would check out the house on post before I would make a decision.

Jade- thanks for the info!! I've seen picture of some of the ones on the Airforce base here in Wichita, but someone I talked to said that they were recently remodeled... so I don't know if I saw the new ones or the old ones... I guess I shouldn't worry about it, since Matt and I just started dating lol. I always get ahead of myself!!

I havnt been able to sleep. I even took Tylenol pm, and I am still wide awake. I hate that. Well I think the light from my phone is waking matt up, hope you guys have a great day!!!!

I guess you could use my journaling and the description. I think the journaling is important since that is the challenge. I could add more description if you want. I didn't know it was all official and going on the first pg. I fell special. lol

I have been married for 3 years and get this we got married on April Fools Day! It was the only day we could do it before he went to Ft. Riley. He came home for 30 days after his year tour in Korea. We have been together for 6 years. I moved up to Ft. Riley after my semester was over. How long you and your b/f been together? You like Wichita better than Topeka? Are you from Wichita? We drove to Wichita once. I went to a really big scrapbook store there. I really liked the city too.

I don't have a pic of it yet. But I'll take one when I get home tonight. Here's a link to the one I made, but I used a towel holder that was a bit different. http://scrapbookclubhouse .typepad.com/weblog/2008/01/ju...

I'm working on a mini album for the hubby but I'll sneak the lo all about me in hopeflully tonight, all I managed to do over the weekend was one page and 2 tags for a swap and the first page of the mini album.

If you would like to change your journaling, then that is fine!! If you would like it to be more of a intro paragraph (like what I did on the first post) then that is fine too. I want everyone to do a LO about themselves, and a short description, so everyone can get to know eachother, and I will be adding new people randomly, so it doesn't get too boring in here!!

You guys got married on april fools day?!? that is funny! hehe. How did you survive him being gone for a whole year!! that must of been awfull!! I was joking with Matt the other day telling him that I want to move to Italy or England and he said that he can't promise anything unless he volunteers to do a year in Korea. I was like "screw that! you aren't volunteering to leave for a year! are you crazy?"

Matt and I's story is kinda crazy... Drew and I broke up, and I moved down here to Wichita, Matt and I met at a walmart (in the bedding section lol!) and we hit it off soooo well. We met literally just a few days after I moved here, we started dating July 4th (yea, it was a little soon, but he asked, and I liked him hehe). We were inseperable starting like.. July 18th, and I started sleeping over at his house all the time, my parents kind of assumed I was living with him, they both went there seperate ways and moved into smaller places. They signed the leases before they asked me if I was coming with them... so I kinda had to move in with Matt before we were ready. Don't get me wrong, I like Matt alot, but I just wish we didn't have to move in that fast. (sorry for the long over detailed story! hehe)

I don't really like Kansas period. Wichita is pretty much topeka, just multiplied. The scrapbook store you are talking about is scrapbook garden (in a little shopping center) by Lowe's. I love that store, but it's selection lately has been going down. It's the only good place to go shopping in all of Wichita! I guess I can't complain though, since it carries my favorite brand (basic grey). I guess Wichita isn't THAT bad, compared to some other places I've been to, but I swear, no one here can drive. I almost get into an accident ever time I drive. They always have to go 20 under the speed limit. blah! I'm done complaining... hehe

so Jade, where are you stationed now? I think you said that already though, I'm going to go look thru the conversation to see if I can find it.

My DH was also in Iraq for 15 months. That was hard, but I got to talk to him almost everyday so that helped a lot. When my DH was in Korea it was crazy b/c the time difference was 15 hours. I didn't get to talk to him that much. I hated Korea!

That is pretty crazy to be moving in with him already. Living with anyone is hard. Getting to know how they are. I go crazy sometimes living with my husband! lol I feel like his mother always picking up after him lol

We are in San Antonio and no one can drive here either. I have never been somewhere where the driving is so crappy. And they have 4 line intestates. It makes me nervous driving. I do like San Antonio. We are stationed at Ft. Sam Houston and I am not crazy about the post, but the city is nice. Being at Riley and the only cities near by were JC and Manhattan sucked. I also love only being 7-8 hour drive from my hometown! I can drive home by myself with Westin and visit fam which is awesome.

Oh yea I also wanted to mention about the Bath Time LO I did of my DS, in the photos you may notice a scar on his chest. Some people may have questions about it so I will explain. My DS was born with a heart defect and had to have open heart surgery when he was 5 months old. They fixed it up for now and when he is older, like teenager, he will need a valve replacement. If you have more questions about it that is fine just ask me. Oh and he is 9 months old now.

Okay I am done. I am on a mission to clean my entire house this week. Today is kitchens day and I am almost done!

Jenn - where all have you lived?

He was gone for 15 months??? Geesh!! I just figured out the time zone difference last night for when he goes to Kuwait, and it's 8 hours. I don't know how you would talk to someone who was 12 hours different!! Well, unless he worked nights. Is your hubby staying in the Army for a full 20?? How long has he been in?

Yea, we moved in very very early. Living with him isn't bad. Of course, he is a guy, so he does things that makes me mad. Like I spend all day cleaning the house, and he comes home and 10 minutes later I have to spend another hour cleaning up after him. He likes to strip from the door to the bed room, so I have one boot in the door way, a sock a few inches away, another boot about a foot away etc... He also leaves EVERYTHING open, which gets on my nerves. I think I already mentioned he's not allowed in the kitchen and not allowed to do laundry lol!

Don't tell me the driving in Texas is bad too, I was looking forward to getting away from the stupid wichita drivers!! Isn't it crazy how some areas are just really really bad drivers!! I usually don't drive anywhere, Matt does it for me! (i'm sooo spoiled!)

I think I remember you talking about your ds surgery. I am so glad it went well. Does he need to have anything else done after the valve replacement? One of my best friends has heart problems. I've known him since I was 10 and he's always been in and out of school for heart surgeries and stuff. It's so scary.

I was born in Reno, Nevada. Moved to Lodi, California when I was 4, moved to Topeka, KS when I was 10, then moved to Wichita, KS this past summer.

I'm off to go scrap!!!

15 months is a long time. They don't do 15 month tours anymore. Now they do 12 months tours. The time difference when my DH was in Iraq was 8 hours. It worked out b/c he would call me at his night time which would be my lunch time and at the time that was when I got off work.

He did re-inlist when he was in Iraq, but he is thinking he wont again and just get out. He has been in 5 years and has 3 and a half years left. There are a lot of things we love and hate about the army. Deployments and being away from our fam is a huge dislike!

my DH does the same thing. Stripes right when he comes home and either goes in the bedroom or laundry room for clothes naked! And then his clothes are all over my living room! Not to mention all of Westin stuff in the living room as well. UGH lol My DH needs so many clothes for work, he washes his own work clothes.

I do drive though Houston on my way "home" and I do not notice as much crazy driving. I just drive straight though, so I didn't exit any where or change interstate. San Antonio has like 3 or 4 main highways/interstate so it seems like I am constantly changing lanes and stuff. It is crazy. Oh and their is a lot of construction here.

The docs are hoping the surgery will last until he needs a valve replacement when he is a teenager and that should be it. He should be able to play sports and everything! He just has to cont to see cardio once or twice a year to make sure his heart is doing fine! That is one reason we want to stay in the army. The army pays for medical! His surgery and everything.

Jenn do you work? I'm not working right now so I am always on. I was just wondering.

It is such a nice day Westin and I are sitting outside on the patio.

I am so glad they don't do 15 months!!! Is that military wide? or just Army?? Matt wants to stay in for 20 years to get retirement, but I don't think he will last that long. He hates the airforce so much. Obviously the deployments are stupid... and so many people are faking/over exagerating reasons why they can't deploy, so they are making the guys in the airforce deploy more often. One of his friends was gone for 6 months, came back for 6 months and is going away again for 6 months. It's getting crazy. Plus they just screwed Matt over last week with his work schedule. When is your time up for Texas??

I am so glad your son will be able to play sports! That is great!

I don't work currently. My car has not been reliable. It's been in and out of the shop for a few months now. Hopefully we got it fixed so I can get a job when we get back from Texas. I do go to school though.

It was a nice day today!! it was actually a little hot!!

We might be having a challenge come up within the next few days!! So watch out! hehe

Army is the only one that does 12 months deployments yay for me! We could leave here as early as next summer, but we might stay longer. Who knows. Since my DH was deployed for 15 months he was not to deploy again for at least a year! I would rather 6 months here, 6 months gone, instead of a year here, a year gone. That is such a long time. If we were still at Riley DH would be deployed, but since we came here for my DS surgery he did not! So in a way Westin's surgery was a blessing. And DH wont deploy from here since he is here on compassionate.

It is so nice to get to know new people on here. Thanks Jenn for putting this together! It was a great idea.

So excited to hear about the challenge coming up!

Jade, that is some ordeal to have to go through with your ds! I can't imagine having to watch your little one go through surgery! Glad he's doing well! I am so glad my dh is not in the service! It is hard enough with him living here working the hours he does. I couldn't imagine never having him here. but I used to say that was my secret to a successful marriage. . . work opposite shifts so you never have to see them! the first 5 years of our marriage He worked nights and I worked days. We both had the weekends off which we spent together and going out. It was more like dating than marriage! but now that we have a daughter I'm glad he can work days and be home a little more to spend time with dd and I!

It is so nice now that surgery is behind us. It was very hard when he had surgery and the 6 weeks recovery time. Oh and throw in teething. But now things are much better. Still teething lol.

Nice to have more people to talk to:)

Jenn I forgot to ask where you are going to school and what you are going for.

I think I am about to go to bed. It is past midnight. I did start on a new LO and I am really excited about it. I haven't really felt like scrapping the last few weeks so I am so excited I am scrapping again. I don't know how long this will last, so I better hurry up and get some LO's done lol

Dang girl you are rocking out some awesome pages! Well, Gabi has had a fever since last night so I had to get up extra early this morning to do lesson plans for my sub today. But good news is I am now up and home for the day so looks like I'll have some time to tackle this challenge today! Can't wait to hear your newest one Jenn!

I think I made my coffee maker mad... it keeps beeping at me, and I don't know why.. hehe... I decided to stay up all day today too, and pass out when Matt gets home from work. I will just be keeping the cycle if I sleep during the day... soooo... yay lack of sleep!! hehe

Jade- I'm going to Cowley Community College and i'm going for medical transcription, medical billing and coding, and medical office support. I should have my MOS by next summer, which is just a fancy certificate that says I am kind of intellegent and I know what I'm doing when it comes to medical office computers. It's so stupid imo. It's the same classes I took in H.S!! that is why I have so much extra time! I already know everything they are teaching me! the other 2 are going to be associate degrees. I will be done in about 3 years. It's nice, because alot of my classes transfer from degree to degree, so its not going to take me 4.5 years. I really hope you get to keep your mojo going!! I love it when the mojo gets cracking!!!! (hehe i've had a LOT of coffee this morning!! i'm all jittery. lots of coffee + empty stomach= not good!) hehe

Julie- Thanks!! I really hope that Gabi starts feeling better. It's not the h1n1 is it?? I hope not! I can't wait to see your take on the challenge!! I will post the challenge after Matt gets back from PT and goes back to work. He should be walking in the door any minute!

HAHA! ok... so Matt and I take one a day vitamins. Well Matt was worried about taking one of mine because he was "scared he was going to get boobs" lol! He thought they had esterogen (sp??) in the vitamins! lol! I almost peed my pants. He was freaking out!

Ok, so here is a optional challenge. You guys don't have to do it, but I may give out RAK to people who complete the most challenges, or enter LO's into a poll and send out a RAK to the winner... It all depends!!

One of my favorite movies is Finding Nemo. Do a LO that is connected in some way to the movie. For example... do a LO about bath time, the beach, or swimming. You can also do a LO that is orange and white, (nemo is orange and white), or maybe monochromatic blue!!!

I am really excited to see what you guys can come up with!!!

Just jump in Pat (do you prefer pat or patricia?) people who arent deaf have poor grammar too! It's life and we deal with it. So if you deal with my poor grammar I'll be fine with yours lol. I like to joke around, but I never mean to offend so If you feel offended please tell me and I'll watch myself because that is not the type of person I am.

I didn't get to scrap last night! Got locked out had to cimb in the window and then had to make dinner an re organize my scrap room and its still not up to my standards but its better.

I am out running errands. Blah!! I don't like the people in Wichita. I swear, it's like everyone here has a lower iq then every where else!!! Like I was at walmart and I told this lady she could get in front of me since she didn't have as much stuff as I did, she looked at me like I was stupid!! Grr!

The agc is hard to keep up with sometimes. We all have systems that we did work best for us to keep track. Jade, I recomend you at least do motivational and try it out!!

Any ways, I gotta get off my phone and get some stuff done. I will be back on later tonight!!

So you guys know how I stayed up all night the night before last?? Well, I ended up not going to sleep untill almost 2 this morning but it was probally the deepest sleep I've ever had!! I didn't even hear Matt get ready (he may be a skinny mini, but he moves like an elephant!!) or the alarm clock go off! I even woke up in the same position I fell asleep in!! Matt said he tried talking to me this morning, but he couldn't even wake me up!! lol. It was awesome!!

Elly, where do you work? Hope you feel better!

Patricia, I wish I had your laid back schedule! I could use a break.

Sounds like this stuff is hitting everyone hard. My dd has missed 2 days of school already from high fever. the dr. said it is most likely the H1N1 virus. She feels better today though and I don't think she had a fever all day. I'm hoping she's better by Friday cause dh has to work all weekend and I'm going out of town to a conference this weekend. So dd will have to stay with family. I don't want to send her if she's still sick.

Jenn, hope you get some great pics! You'll have to share them with us!

I love being a SAHM too. It is nice to be home with the little one. Some days are hectic and some days are slow and boring.
