Supper is done...we had salad and pizza subs. I've got the pork chops marinating for tomorrow night's supper and am now relaxing. DH & DS are watching the World Series game. All is well!

Saw it at M's yesterday and snagged it with my coupy. I had not seen that line at all previously. Unfortunately they only had the paper pack... no embellies. Or maybe it is fortunate... for my wallet that is!

Morning.

I've decided to hold off the wall work in the dining room until after the holidays. They are approaching too quickly and I've got too many other things to get done!

Good morning!

Heather, Woooooooohohohooooo! Yeah !!!!!!

Debbie, great job!!

Cathy, yes, they are approaching so fast.
I'm almost done with the closet, two boxes left. Wont be able to those soon. The good news is that I CAN walk in that closet and it is organized. This weekend I'm going to start sorting thru decorations.

I added that collection to my wish list here, and forward it to dh. Maybe I can get it for christmas.

I beating my head against a wall at the moment. Our real estate agent canceled on us again. We now have an appointment for Saturday morning. I'm really getting frustrated over this. I know her child is sick and I understand but I'm so afraid that for the price we're going to lose the house.

Liz- Maybe there is a "Behind the scene" reason you are being put off... I always say God works in odd ways... Maybe there is something seriesly wrong with the house that the inspector wont see and you will buy it thinking everythings peachie.... Or maybe God has a better home in line... I know how you feel I went through the same thing (Kind of) when my DH was building our house... (NEVER BUILD YOUR OWN HOME)

Heather- Congrats to your team! Back at work huh... BLAH! I am here as well not excited about it but... When I leave in the morning and see DH and DD cozy in my bed I just want to wake them both up....

Debbie- Great job with Heathers sketches... where are you getting these sketches? Do I need to go snop'n at Heathers place to find them? or is this a behind the scence jober?

Well I must now get to work.... Yesterday went to a last min. meeting to support (Take notes) I never do this so I dont knwo what they want captured or wrote down etc. Well this other lady was "The note taker" adn she made it quite clear... So then when I got back to my desk she emailed me and asked if I would send her my notes so we could merge them..... Umm... If you are the official note taker mine dont mean poohie (RIGHT?) Anyway I told her that she could send me the "Official" notes and I woudl add mine in another color and she could cut whatever she felt was unessasary... We will see waht happens! She hasnt wrote back yet... so...

Morning Ladies!!
I am at work and the movers are here!! Even though the noise is awful I am so happy to see them that means that maybe just maybe they will be done by Monday so life can return to normal next week. With no one in the building it makes me wish I could come to work in my pj's!! No makeup hair a mess. But yeah right!! I am eating my oatmeal and it's really hot this morning. It's helping warm me up. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Had to run to walmart and while we were there we bought some Christmas gifts. Yeah finally started Christmas shopping.

Clara she works alone from her house. Our mortgage guy recommended her. We'll go see the house Saturday. There are some kind of things that are bugging us about her. Like she hasn't seen the house yet and is telling us and email our loan guy about another type of loan we're going to need. We've been through the house once, repairs aren't that bad.

Liz, is the house listed with her? Maybe you should change realtors, find someone you trust. I suggest you research those loans before signing anything, ask around, search online. As for the house, just make sure you do an inspection. It could be a stressing journey, one needs to make it better and see the bigger pic, the future.

She works alone from home. We're searching again for another real estate agent, we've met with, counting her, 5 people so far, the hazards of small town living. Our loan guy was picked after comparing 5 different companies and different loans. He has a great deal for us so we're going with him. We don't like that she's emailing him about what loan we do need and we have a call into him. Will not buy a house without an inspection. Though she's trying to tell us that an inspector will not walk into the place.

Yeah we'll be finding another agent.

Liz,

I "fired" my first agent. She was pushy - that is why I almost ended up with a lemon for a house. She refuted all the points the inspector made (for instance said that of course the water was wonky since the water was shut off during the winter - well we had it running for a good 15 mins so the air locks would have been out by then), had all these suggestions...like to tear down the old sheds in the yard - "just bring some friends over". Well one, I don't have that many and most of them are over 55 - um, they don't want to start tearind down structures.

When I had mentioned that the economy scared me, she offered unsolicited advice that I should just get a roomate. Um, not at my age. Not into that now that I have been living on my own for almost 20 years.

Then she suggested that I get rid of some of my buffets/china cabinets - NO way. If they all fit into a one bedroom apartment, surely there is a house that will accomodate them.

Best of luck - hope you find a good fit between you and your realtor. And find an inspector for yourself - the others may "work" for the realtors if you know what I mean.

We're rooting for you to find the right house for you and the family.

I'll pray for you Liz. House hunting is stressful stuff. I hope you find a place where you and your family will be happy. Just remember, if you don't get this place, then there's another out there for you. I let myself get down every time we lost one and it ended up being a very emotionally draining experience. I actually found myself thinking last night that it was funny, here I was depressed for a year and a half, and our house was just sitting there right around the corner (literally) waiting for us to find it. It waited longer for us though, it was empty for two years.

Leftovers? What are those? I guess I should take it as a compliment that when I cook there are no leftovers...unless I purposely cook double so Jeremy and the kids have something to heat up over the weekend. But there's seldom anything leftover for a Friday lunch.

Liz...I hope everything works out for you all! Did you sign any kind of Contract with the Agent? I am actually a licensed real estate agent, although that is not currently what I work in. You need to find someone that you trust and that you feel is working for you. If she is the listing agent, and although she does have some fiduciary responsibility to you, her real responsibilities/loyalty will lie with the person who signed the listing contract. It is her job to get them the best deal.

Walmart.com has Guitar Hero with all the instruments and the game for like $79 (Usually around $199) but Brian says I can't buy it for him for Christmas. I know he really wants it too but we agreed to not buy gift for each other this year. .

That is so crazy that she would come up and talk to your husband...bizarre! some people are just weird and love drama I think. I mean, if she really cared about seeing him (or if HE did) then surely they would contact ya'll in some way other than run-ins at Walmart. I mean geez what can she say, "Oh we care so much, we would call, but we figured we would just wait until we happened to see you while we were out buying milk and bread."

Yeah. Well. HE knows he doesn't have a leg to stand on at this point. And while he can be scrappy in a fistfight, when it comes to being a man and saying "I screwed up" he's just not the confrontational type. (I have another phrase in mind, but I don't think I can post it.)

Not that it would matter. He's not getting near this kid as long as any of us have anything to say about it. He gave that up almost two years ago.

Today I put in about 20 job applications...some via email, some via fax, and one in person. I really liked the place I submitted to in person. It is a very small, very well-kept nursing home and only about 15 minutes driving time from my house. I would either work 7am-3pm or 11pm-7am which means either way I can dodge after-school care and be with the kids in the afternoons/evenings.

Kelly...if you get the 11-7, will there be someone to stay with the kids overnight?

Geoff locked himself in the bathroom. He locked it but couldn't unlock it. I had to take the door knob apart. He's fine and safe. Usually he doesn't bother the bathroom. He went in only a few seconds before I got there but it was enough time for him to lock it. He wasn't scared so that was good.

Poor baby!

At one point not too long after Kim moved into her own place, she locked herself out of the townhouse. Now, her door, even when locked, can be opened from the inside, and Ethan could do it. So she's standing outside yelling for him to come let Mommy in.

What she didn't know is that he'd been in the half-bath (right beside the front door) washing his hands. And the bathroom door was closed. And he couldn't reach the towel to dry his hands. So he was trying and trying to open the bathroom door with wet hands, which wasn't working, and she was outside yelling for him to come let her in, which he couldn't do.

(I think that was when they discovered that they could lift the sliding glass door off its track and get in that way.)

Well we were suppose to go do our second walk through today for the house. But our new Realtor called and her daughter has a temp of 102 and she doesn't want to get anyone sick in case it's contagious. So re rescheduled for tomorrow morning.

Had a class last night to go to for being home buyers (Brian and I decided to do them since we have never bought a house before), we've learned a lot and only 2 more classes to go.

They've finally broken down at the hospital and are allowing employees one "extended absence with flu-like symptoms" without it counting against your attendance record. This is a big deal for the hospital...believe me.

Hi everyone!

I am glad you are feeling better Heather!

I made a HUGE life decision this morning....I have decided to go back to school! I finished my LPN last December and I have decided to go back for my RN. I am scared to death but know this is something I need and want to do. I will start back in January. I will either have 2 or 3 semesters to do.

Kelly - you can get in that quickly?

At the school where Kim is, just doing the application process and getting admitted to the RN program takes a semester or so. (Actually, they only start new classes in the fall.) That's cool that you'll be able to do it so soon.
