I suppose you can congratulate me as long as you never call me that again. LMAO!!!!!! A graunty!! LOL!!!!

Hey - it takes one to know one, right? I am a Graunty three times over, with the 4th due in January, and Neil has to be a Gruncle - which is even worse!

Good morning ladies!!!

Rosita... I like your posts about choosing a word for the next year.. and yesterday I just put up a saying on my computer to look at every day at work. So I am going to pull a word out of that saying, and use that for my 2011 word.. my word is REASON. Seems like such an odd word. But seems that all of 2010 I was asking myself why so much on things and actions from other people.. the saying I put on my computer was "A reason, a season or a lifetime" I think the word reason will help me just reflect back on my self, my own situations and my family. The rest will take care of itself.

Deb 2011 will have so much in store for you.. I can just feel it!! This will be your year to shine!!

Tina.. I've only made one purchase ever from Amazon and that same thing happened to me. My UPS driver delivered my brand new $500 camera to a house 2 blocks over with the same house number. They tracked it and I had it withint 24 hrs. Good luck!

We've had the same thing here Rachel.. snow is almost all gone. It's been extremely foggy.. the only bad thing when this happens is that it never dries up quick enough as the snow melts and we end up with very icy roads and sidewalks. Tis the season!!!

Mel.. I am so glad that you decided to join up again.. You deserve to be spoiled!!!

Hello to my little sister Betsye! I hope you have your wish list updated.

yes, I do believe it is. I updated Sunday morning when I took advantage of church being cancelled to catch up on the thread. I have a pretty long day planned. It's the last day to get plans entered in the system before the new year, driving to Dalton for am eye exam to use up the last of my FSA. I ordered glasses from zenni optical yesterday and I got the refund from dd's glasses, so now I have enough for contacts too. Then work some more, then my niece's birthday party, then more work.

rosita, have you ever ordered glasses from Zenni before? someone recently gave me their link and I was thinking about testing it out. but my prescription doesn't actually include the number I need for distance from pupils or something like that, so I'll have to ask jason to help me measure that.

this is my first time ordering from them, but I know a few people who have, and they love them. I just called the place where I got glasses 3 years ago and asked for the number. It doesn't change

CHOOSING YOUR WORD
Can you identify a single word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2011?
It can be something tangible or intangible. It could be a thought, or a feeling, or an emotion. It can be singular or plural. The key is to find something that has personal meaning for you. This is not your mother's word or your spouse's word or your child's word - this is YOUR word.

One little word can have big meaning in your life if you allow yourself to be open to the possibilities. And here's one thing that is totally interesting: sometimes a word will pop into your brain and it will not make any sense to you right now. Give it some time. Let it percolate a bit. I have often found that our hearts speak to us in very unique ways. Maybe this is a word you need to hear but just aren't ready for it yet.

Again, be open to the possibilities.

What word have you chosen Tres and Rebecca?

I created a list yesterday and now there are two that keep popping out at me. I will narrow it down before midnight tonight.
I love your word Rosita....it's perfect!

So I decided to spend a little on scrapping today. I am going on a no spending restriction except adhesive and for my little sister as of Jan 1st until I complete 50 pages and 10 cards. So at the usual rate that I scrap that should be 6 months but somehow I think I'll be scrapping much more (and quicker) with that motivation

Jackie and Trisha, I'm beginning to think my Itouch is a dud. It is constantly forwarding itself to a next song, without my asking. it'll play some of the song it's on, then just skip to a new one - and it's doing it frequently. grrrr. doesn't matter whether it's in my pocket, in my hand, etc. so, am I only supposed to use it when I'm sitting still?! I'm very irked. looks like I may be making a trip back to the apple store in the next few days.

tina do you lock your ipod when you have it in your pocket or where ever? bc if you don't lock it the screen is sensitive and that's probably why it is skipping songs.

you can play a song or playlist then just click the button on the top left side to lock it. and it will continue playing without skipping bc you touched the screen accidently. then to unlock it you just push the center button at the bottom of the ipod and slide your finger to unlock it.

hope that helps!

jackie - it seems to be locking itself without me even needing to do it. every time i pull it out to look at it, i need to "slide to unlock"

tina well it is supposed to lock itself after a certain time so you don't accidently push a button.

Just signed up for the "One Little Word" class. I am a first timer to OLW and quite excited about the possibilites of the word I have chosen for 2011.

My word is TRUST.

For those of us choosing OLW for 2011 how about putting it in our signatures on here? I am going to go do that now as I think it will help me to keep it on my radar (or in this case, computer) screen.

Hi everyone! Ok, now that everyone's talking about it....can someone send me the link to the OLW? I want to participate too I think! I gotta come up with my word. I mean, I did say healthy, but I'm not sure that is THE word I would pick, even though it has meaning more than ever right now for me.

Rebecca have a great time with Michael and a wonderful 2011!

Deb your NYE sounds like I want MINE to be too. John and I are going to bring in Chinese take out (sushi for me) and watch a movie, but I hope to get in the scraproom for a bit before we start.

Alison's here too so I dont know what she has planned.

Welcome Nancy!

Hi Tina! Hello Tres! What's up Rosita! (Im sure glad to see you on here more!), Hi Danelle (thanks for the sweet welcome)...good to see ya Sherri and Traci! Oh, and Loribee too!

Tres, that motivation sounds like a great idea! I don't know if I could actually stick to it but I might give it a good college try it! Are you talking about the pink adhesive gun with the bright green parts? If so, a piece of advice. Get the Perma Tac refills only. They have some others (repositionable, etc), but in my opinion the Perma Tac is most definately the best!

some quick questions for you:

When do you get most of your scrappin' done? do you like listening to music or watching tv at the same time? scrappin' alone or with other people?

What are you top 3 fave scrapbooking manufacturers?

Wow! That was quick!

My favorite color is brown...although I sure own a lot of blue as well.

I do most of my scrappin at crops, but do some at home as well. I prefer to scrap in a group, but music often keeps me company as well. I can't do anything without music. I don't do so well with the TV on...too many distractions lol

My favorite manufacturers are Bo Bunny, Crate Paper and Fancy Pants.

My favorite embellishments are buttons, brads and ribbon/fiber.

Thanks for asking and Happy New Year!

Katrina those are really great pages. That's great how you used so many pictures!!

I'm hoping to get to do a page or two this weekend. I don't have or want any plans for NewYears because I want to scrap. I'm working so much this week and next that I just want to rest my poor old body.

Well, it IS 12 sessions with Ali Edwards...so that's only $3 a session/month...and you'd pay more than that if you went to a convention...and since some of you are doing it too...I may be spending the money...

Happy New Year!

I've been thinking about my Project Life Album...

I won't buy the Becky Higgins paper kit because I have enough supplies now, but she has a digital kit that looks intriguing. Maybe I could talk my dd into doing that one...Could I convince her that THAT isn't really scrapbooking?

I have decided that I'm going to do one lo/week. and to fit it all into one album, I'm only going to do single page layouts...and have figured out that if I want the pages to look consistent, the pictures need to be (6) 3x4 and (1) 4x6, so I'll be printing 4 pictures/week. I can upload them to Walgreens before Church on Sunday morning, go pick them up after church, and have my layout done by the evening service.

I'm still a little up in the air re: journaling tags. I have some punches and some spellbinders that I could use. I want the album to look consistent, so am thinking of using the same design for each day...with varying embellishments of course.

Then I also need to make a decision re: pp or cardstock...I've thought about using one collection all year long, and if it's double sided pp, that would be even less expensive, I don't think I've used double sided pp to that extent before...hmm, sounds like a challenge. Isn't K&Company Que Sera Sera pp double sided? I HAD to have that collection, and I've gathered a few of the embellishments too, and this would be a great use for it! Thanks for your help, I think the decision is made on the pp, now to go find out if I need to buy another pad of it.

ooo, I'm in luck! The pack I have is 54 double sided pages, 3 copies of each of the 18 pages, so only 8 of them will be used more than once! which means I can make flowers and titles and journaling tags from the left overs!

so...do I go to work in 5 min, (should have started work 55 min ago) or get out an album and ribbons and buttons and chipboard and fibers and threads and paints...hey, if I sew a border or flower, I get to see both sides this time!that could be good or bad...

Speaking of stitching, for those of you who got the Easy Sew thingamabob, have you tried it, how do you like it? How does it compare to the In Stitchz?

Have fun Rachel, and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you too.

I have been on THIS computer waaaay too long, I'm going to work now.

I did sign up for the class. I finally got reimbursed for dd's glasses, so I could afford it.

After all, I only got one Christmas present, I kept putting/taking things back...I figured I'd spend some money on me later, so here's a little later...

Oh Rachel, I have to agree with that whole heartedly!!!You girls on here just don't know how much I appreciate you!!!In fact, that's going to be my word. I know I said 'Prosper' but that was just a joke. I am going to go with appreciate. Appreciate every day, every friend, every blessing.

I'm finding myself sorta torn between JOY and CELEBRATE. The thing is that I started off thinking about the word 'rest' (probably still in bed at that moment!! LOL). But I'm not very good at rest. Sometimes it doesnt matter, but sometimes for example, Neil would just like me to sit on the sofa with him throughout a film, but every time the adverts come on, its like a cue to me to jump up and put the washing on, or make a cup of tea, or move the washing into the dryer - all the things which make up normal life for us girls.

But then I started thinking about Rosita's wise words, and made myself really think about what it important - is it the rest or is it just taking joy and delight and happiness in the small things as well as the big things... so now its between joy and celebrate and I'm off to look at the site.

Debs - I think its brilliant that you are looking at each joyful wonderful thing in life. You have been through the most major trauma that we could possibly imagine, and you are coming out of it, appreciating what is good and wholesome and happy. Good for you - we all need to take a leaf out of your book and learn from your positive thinking and approach to life.

Good Morning and Happy New Year to each of you!

Welcome to the group Nancy!

Deb I love your new OLW and you!! You are truly a blessing and an inspiration in my life!

Rosita, sounds like you are going to be scrap happy this year, love it!!

Hi Sherri, I send you a PM.

Rachel perfect words for you ... joy and celebrate! Knowing you brings me great joy and I will for sure celebrate when finally we get to meet this Spring!!

Okay I am off to get ready to face this brand new day and year.

Picking my Mama up for some lunch, and shopping. We have a tradition of spending at least part of New Years' Day together. Later this afternoon she and I will drive up to Michael's cousins place to watch some of the footabll games and visit. Michael will be going there at noon but that's way too much football for me & my mom.

yawn. 2 nights up past midnight is too much for this old lady, lol.

hope everyone had a good night. jason and I watched a few episodes of a criminal minds marathon last night, and I went to bed as soon as it hit midnight.

Rosita, I haven't tried the sew easy yet. but one issue I have with the rolling cutter bee piercers, is that it's hard for me to keep it straight. I have to find something to line it up against, and even then I have trouble. I'm guessing it's user error, but that's why I suspect I'll have the same prob with the sew easy, even though I still want it, lol.

I've been listening to everyone rave about the ATG so I ordered the pink one from J's today on sale and w/free shipping. I did manange to buy some fun goodies for my little sis too.

The ATG gun is a very wise investment. call me when you get up in the morning if you can.

Thanks Mel! The ATG I got is only pink but I will keep an eye out for the perma adhesive

The little word sounds fun, but I just cant see paying $36. so is everyone paying the $36 or is it just something everyone is doing here?

I'm not sigining up for the workshop but I really liked the idea and thought I would make a sign or layout about my one word. I want to concentrate on it this year and even my non scrappy friends loved the idea.

That is a great idea! I'm thinking about using separated page protectors but not sure how I want to go about it. I'm so far behind...still doing 2008 regular stuff but a layout a week is doable.

And if anyone can't afford the class but would like to do it for $11, why not tell your SS on here and they can buy you a voucher too!

You all pleaseeeeeeee know how much it has meant to me and how much I love you !

I am having my 3rd treatment Monday, the second one was really hard on me and I didn't get to enjoy Christmas like I usually do. It was hard n me. I was sick for 9 or 10 days and now its time for another. So it is just a process but part of the journey. I will be doing radiation after completing my chemo the end of March. So will surely be looking forward to the summer so all this will be behind me. So look for me in the next round.

Hope all of your holidays were as wonderful as you are...I am so thankful for yo all...love to each and every single one of you !

Well you know the moments hit me when I least expect them. I went to the grocery store this morning and I don't know why but in the middle of the snack isle I just broke down. I'm so happy it was a slow day at the grocery store. Nobody saw me and I composed myself before I got to the check out.

Hi Dana. You poor thing!! I can't even imagine being sick for so many days! I'm sure I'd be a big baby about it. I never get sick so I don't think I'd handle that well at all. Do the treatments get easier or are they all about the same? I know you can't wait to get past this and to move forward. We love you and miss you. It's so nice when you feel up to stopping by!!!
