Do you use different adhesives for different jobs? (Double-sided Tape, Glue Stick, Glue Dots, etc...) Or is it just personal preference---meaning, once you find an adhesive you like, you use it for most everything....?

Partly personal preference, and partly that some adhesives are better for certain situations. I use ATG for most things. Zip Dry (or Glossy Accents or Scotch Quick Dry) when I need a stronger bond. Foam when I want to make something stand out and add dimension. Xyron and 3M Spray Mount for vellum. Xyron, Spray Mount and Zig pens for tricky/delicate/lacy things. I also use Glue Dots because I have them, but I will probably not repurchase them when I run out.
ATG or Glue Glider Pro for photos and paper
Xyron for intricate/very small die-cuts
glue dots for chipboard, ribbon, metal embellishments
vellum dots for vellum
brads/eyelets for transparencies
foam dots for dimension
Different adhesive for different jobs AND personal preference.
But, NEVER glue sticks in ANY part of scrapbooking!
ditto on everything!
this can not be stressed strongly enough Unless of course, you RELISH the thought of trying to remember exactly WHERE on the page you put that flower 3 years ago when you created that page,,,,,,,because it is now at the bottom of the page protector, hanging out with an alpha or 4.
I just bought the ATG and boy!! . . . do I love it. Also, Diamond Glaze for metallic objects, glue dots for buttons and last but definitely not least my two different sizes of Xyrons!! Makes life so much easier.
- adhesive squares (for photos and some other page elements)
- glue dots (for a tied piece of ribbon)
- Zig glue pen with chisel tip (for a few smaller items)
- glue stick (the only thing I have that doesn't make sheer ribbon look horrible)
- tacky glue (for big buttons with the shanks cut off)
Also in stock, but unused on that layout, are several types of pop dots/foam squares, a different type of Zig glue pen (the squeeze and roll, which I don't like very much), and a package of sticky-dot adhesive sheets.
I think I have about 10 different types of adhesives laying around on my table! I mainly use the ATG gun, a small tape runner for those tricky spots, glue dots, foam squares & my Zig pen on a daily basis. But I also have spray adhesive, decoupage, Diamond Glaze, and even an assortment of Aleene's glues (for cards/making embellies only).
