if you had to have ONE favorite tool, what would it be? please exclude the cricut or any other cutting machine like it.

I'm trying to create a wishlist of scrapbooking stuff i want. i have tons of paper, just need some new tools. and cricut is number one on that list, thats why i excluded it

I'd have to say my sizzix big shot, I probably use it just as much as my cricut, if not more. I love all the tim holtz dies that are available for it.

But if you are excluding all die cut machines then my next tool(s) I can't scrap without is my distresser and my distress inks/blending tools. I use them on pretty much every page!

For me, handsdown it's got to be the ATG!

Because of it, gone are the frustrating days of endless photo tab refills!

Never having to run to the store, not only saves me time & money, but also the disappointment of stores that don't ever seem to stock up!

For me, it's the Basic Gray 12 x 12 magnetic mat. I absolutely love it, and couldn't craft without it.

I second the ATG - I just got mine at Christmas and can't believe I went so long without it. I have 4 rolls of tape and am thinking they will last me a while.

My Making Memories paper trimmer, the BG magnetic mat and Cutter Bee scissors. I have a pair of the Queen Bee 9" scissors also that I would recommend but they don't make them anymore.
Oh and Micron pens in black and brown and a Signo white pen.
I like my ATG gun but for small things I also use the AC This to That runner and Zig glues.

The tool I most WANT but do not HAVE is a binding system

My most used tool at home would be my cropadile.

would a completely redone and organized dream scrap room constitute as a 'tool'?
if not, then I would have to say the ATG

Well ladies, looks like number 2 on my list is now the ATG gun....although now it may just be number 1 because its just a tad cheaper than the cricut. lol. and i have to say, my mom bought me the crop a dile (and the big bite) and i fell in love with it instantly! (how did i ever scrap without it?) I also love my cutterpede trimmer.
so my wish list (that all you fab ladies have helped me with) so far in no specific order:
ATG Gun
Cricut
a circle cutter (i was eyeing one the other day)
and possibly a distressing tool...
eh my hubby should be delighted! hes got all the major holidays covered this year lol

you ladies have given me a great place to start! you rock!

This is a great thread, its hard to think of the things I just use without thinking about.
A lot of good suggestions.
I would add a good self healing mat, my xyron 150 for all those small letters the cricut will cut.

I love these making memories tweezers, they have been indispensable for small embellishment placement. You have to squeeze to open them.

The Ranger craft mat truly lives up to what it says it will do. I don't think I would ever stamp or paint with out it!

My ATG is the best tool ever

As for a circle cutter....Creative memories has a cutting system with circles, ovals, shapes etc that I can't live without. It's idiot proof which helps. I love them. So much easier than the 3 other brands I tried.

The QuickKutz Quickstik! It is especially good for those very small cuts (i.e. Disney Cricut die cuts).

The ATG, wish I would have had it sooner!

I would like the melting pot and a really good heavy duty trimmer. I am either going to get the MM, Purple Cow or the Fiskars Guillotine Paper Cutter.

Naf, the vintage typewriter sounds fun! I remember sitting on my grandmother's back porch playing with her old one. I loved the clicking sound it made!

I want the small circle curvy cutter as I have the big one & I love it! I want more Martha punches. I want a Big Shot. I want nesties. I always use the cutterbee tweezers & scssors. I also use the Fiskars grey handle soft touch small scissors all the time.

Does the ATG Gun have the option of repositional glue? I use the small red roller that gives me that option and I love that...Also will note here that I love my Big Shot. I don't own a Cricut yet but I think this will hold me for awhile. I love the ease of it--no sticky mats to fuss with or blade depth to make certain cuts, etc. Guess I'm still a hold out--for now anyway...I've also been eyeing the Big Shot Pro which cuts 12x12

No repositional adhesive for the ATG. I use the Glue Glider Pro for that. Still the ATG is a great tool!

the atg gun does sound like a good buy....i hate the extra tab thingies to pull off on my photo stickers...and they get everywhere, but the runners are so expensive to keep up with for a small amount of adhesive. so this sounds like a great solution
